I just realised that Eurydice and Orpheus' house in Asphodel is set up to be reminiscent of a studio flat, the official lodgings of the struggling milennial artist.
they showed up singing this once in a Skelly challenge run (punishment 32) and I had limited time, it was very hard to leave whitout hear the entire song
When I reached Eurydice's chamber after getting the credits and they were singing this instead, it was the same stunned feeling I had the very first time I found Eurydice's chamber. Do they only do this once, or is there a chance they will sing it again? I've reached the epilogue and still not heard it again... Imagine being a game designer and knowing not one but TWO amazing singers like this that you can just be like "hey, wanna do a song in my game?" and they say "yes".
This is my favorite recording of this version of the song(until they release it for us) thanks for uploading it! I like this stripped down version more than the one from the ending credits
I appreciate how you can hear their voices, and therefore the amazing harmonies, much clearer. I really like the backing instrumentals of the one on the soundtrack, though
I can imagine someone slowly making his way through the Underworld and be called towards the sound of this haunting melody in the distance... unless that someone was killed by a siren in which case, he's floating the other way

The verse: Loves In your life Live ever on Home Is not where you live But who cares when you’re gone Could easily be applied to Orpheus and Eurydice's love. The thing is, I think that the context of the entire song really isn't about bonds you choose, which is what ultimately your connections in your life are; it's about a connection that is predestined (Fates weave their threads, our lives are sown; Born to a life all but our own), and in the case of actual family connections, a connection that runs through your veins and "is always there", "your dearest kin below the skin" - in the blood. I like that the verse I quoted above can be read about more than just Zagreus and his family, though - and I can certainly see where your point - I would say Eurydice's triumphant song is Good Riddance, about how she's dealt with the Underworld and accepted her fate. Orpheus' Lament is a reflection of the opposite, the grief of his actions he could never overcome. Him singing Eurydice's Good Riddance can be seen as his proper acceptance of his fate, and once you release him from the binds of Hades' contract, a very literal one ("No contracts, I'm free to do as I may"). I would say they don't have a joint song celebrating their triumphant love - I do consider Good Riddance to be a celebration of their individual ability to overcome the hardships of the afterlife, but not necessarily a celebration of their love; interpreting In The Blood's verse I quoted above to be just that is _valid_ for sure, but I personally think the song itself is less about E&O and more about Zagreus.
Cloud T. Also, just as a story telling tool, it being used as the credits theme, definitely points it to being a summary of the games overall themes, more so than the two singing it.
@@cloudt.6669 I think you are right that In the Blood is more about Zagreus (God of Blood and Blood as a metaphor for familial bonds) but I think it can very mich also be interpreted for E and O. The Fates are responsible for EVERYTHING in greek myth, everything that happens in life, meaning including the non familial bonds. Moreover the phrase „In the Blood“ can also be a reference to that predetermined fate, it‘s something that is inside of, that you cannot escape as hard as you may try. I think that is actually the greatest part of this song, it can reflect on every single character and their story.
Yesterday just played Hades and bumped to this chamber, I listened for over 10 minutes. Just beautiful. It is unfortunate that this version of the song doesnt exist in the OST! :(
Nope. As far as I know, the OST includes only the classic version that plays during the ending credits. I had no idea this acoustic version existed until I ran into them singing it like this.
For Athena, you have to win a run, then find Athena on a future run, and repeat that a few times. For Artemis, you just have to give her lots of nectar and talk to her lots (max once per run though, only regular boons count, not Charon's shop). Almost all the gods require just playing the game and talking to them.
Such a callback to when they did the duet for "Paper Boats" but still a contrast since Darren takes the higher harmony on this one. SO good.
Super giant never disappoints.
Paper Boats will probably always be my overall favorite Supergiant song (mainly because of the context) but In The Blood comes really close.
