    Good solid explanation, Ive watched several videos and till now have thought I needed a water pump, but you explained the overall concept really well, thank you!

    Awesome video! That's exactly what I need to do cause I already have the pump. Would you make a video on how to build it? Thank you!

    Very cool! Do you think it would mess up the vortex to have a pvc ring at thr bottom with air bubbles (or add a 90 to your top pvc tubes to have twice the input top and bottom) im jsut curious if the water at the bottom of the barrel is moving enough

    Awesome video! Going to building one soon. Any updates on the brewer? Things you'd change?
    I appreciate the info and such a cool shot of the vortex!
    I use a omax microscope and was a great investment! I also made a polarized lens filter for it as well which makes the bacteria easier to see!
    Keep up the great work!

    Like the design! You could attach magnets to enhance the structuring effect on the water.

    Great build, cant wait to build one. The Soil Food Web teaches that agitating compost helps release microbes. Im wondering what your microbe activity looks like under a Scope. have you purchased a Microscope yet?

    I'm taking Elaine Ingham's soik food web class and she mentioned that she stays away from any 90 degree angles in the pipes that organisms go through, in order to avoid biofilms building up faster. What do you think?

    • @manamicrobesgardening5857
      @manamicrobesgardening5857  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! I actually just started the soil food web school, just finished FC1. I didnt get to the part where she talks about that yet. I'm sure shes correct about the 90 degree angles, I'm not a fan of them for the flow of water either. But on the other hand this was the simplest way I could create a vortex. I'm sure there is creative ways to avoid 90s
      In order to keep things clean, I rinse brewer out after each use and use a "beer line" cleaning solution to disinfect any left over organisms

      @@manamicrobesgardening5857 I wonder if you could put a U bend or a cut U (so just a curve) on the end of the pipe instead of a 90°. 🙂🌱 I'm on FC3. I have a study group with 2 others if you want to join!

    • @philkeshish5834
      @philkeshish5834 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      exactly. definitely avoid those 90deg angles especially if you are not sure about the pressure within the pipes.

      You should study structured water which is what the vortex does it structures the water this is a nice build

    If you rotate the 90 degree arms the other way will that reverse the vortex direction? Or is the vortex direction determined by which hemisphere of the planet you are in...example toilet bowls and hurricanes.

      I havent done analysis yet on biology, unfortunately i haven't been using the brewer a lot lately. I do still plan to analyze and experiment with different tea brews and foods
      Any tips on how to measure dissolved oxygen?

      @@manamicrobesgardening5857 I used to work in a wastewater lab and we used a benchtop dissolved oxygen meter; quite pricey I'm sure. A quick search showed a few hand held models but no experience with those.

    great , one improvment could be to let the water spin clockwise. I hear that this is better, also frindge info but probably true

    It seems diffused oxygen would be achieved better with tiny bubbles like those created with aquarium stones.

  • @olddudegrowsorganically6400
    @olddudegrowsorganically6400 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a little info your vortex is spinning the wrong way for the northern hemisphere. I'm not an expert by any means just repeating what I've read.
