Thanks a lot for this demonstration in such a simple and easy way. This will definitely help in saving electricity. Now its up to us at what extent we follow your guidelines. Thanks a lot again.
Sir, supper stuff from you....I appreciate your sincere efforts in making a cost effective product with use of logical science. regards Ashwinikumar Kulkarni MSc(Electronics). Asst. manager- Wns global services.
I wouldn't trust myself to use black paint on a white floor. Thanks for the clip in my 'add to' If I ever move South I'm going to use this idea. Liked the group project at the end.
Appreciable efforts by PP Vinayak. Metal body and costly solar cookers are worth selling them in scrap and hence chances of theft is high. This one have no resale value but very high utility value. I have seen this product.
why? why are you not speaking?...you should be proud of yourself for having made such a possibility for green living. Please speak and re-record it so that this reaches to the english speaking people and throughout the world. You made our India proud!
That paint and plastic sheet are health hazards. Though the pans are covered, still fumes produced by heat from plastic and paint can reach the food. Reasonable temperature can be reached if you don't paint the foils and use a glass face. Better still, use two glass sheets with a gap in between. There are black pans and pots are available in the market which are food safe Nice try, keep it up
Good solution to save TREES... But trees can be planted at a rate that will be sufficient for next generations... It's time to start planting too.. I wander what Raj Kapoor would say.... :-)
i am interested in making solar cooker and watched many videos on youtube and settled on this finally. But, i shall replace thermocol with coconut fibre and used woolen clothe pieces and the transparent plastic sheet with a glass plate. I shall let you know once i make this.
use cement with black powder that comes to mix with cement. make half inch layer of cement plaster inside the box in place of toxic paint. cement is not toxic.
It could be any kind of paint like normal paint or water color but the best choice is spray paint or if you don't have any black paint than just use black paper
While the concept and execution of the project is to help people use solar power and is much appreciated, please also be aware of the toxicity of materials you use in construction. Thermocol (Polystyrene) has been known to release toxic gases at high temperatures. Please look at organic insulating alternatives, like coconut fiber or a old natural wool blanket neatly folded into the same shape.
i also felt the same to replace thermocol and transparent plastic sheet with natural options, eventhough it may cost little more, by others. This project is good to show everyone that we can cook food in reality. But all others use insulation materials as told above and instead of transparent plastic sheet, you can use, thin glass. (you should be careful to handle glass)
jaglinuxmint 40-some years ago I saw in a book they made a 1 yard (meter) hemisphere of cardboard and lined it with aluminum foil (silver mylar might be better) and mounted it on sticks they shifted around to point at the sun. The text said that unlike a parabolic reflector the hemisphere would make a hot area instead of a hot point. They claimed the area at center just right for a 9" frying pan and from the reflector in mid-latitude America summer, 360F/182C. A metal box in the same spot could perhaps bake as fast as an oven. And of course a bigger reflector would get hotter still.
***** thats impressive. wonder why this technology didn't catch up to present times. People want quick fix for everything. what you said is mind boggling. do you have any plans of building it?
jaglinuxmint What has happened for a long time is that the available energy from burning things (especially bonded carbon) has overshadowed and out-convenienced so many other ways with some exceptions like hydroelectric generation. There is the other power of being able to charge people for fuel, the economic and political power that would have everyone pay them that gets in the way. I saw a TED talk about how smoke from indoor cooking fires with dirty fuel is an even bigger world health problem leading to an amazingly huge number of early deaths, stunted growth and poor health. And THEN there is the lack of clean water for so many, I mean BILLIONS of people written off and neglected. Solar cooking can save the poor on fuel and need to cut down forests that support life and breathing indoor smoke. Solar power can be used to purify water. When you have so little, any more is welcome. Search TH-cam for solar cooker and see what people are doing, even the non-scientific are making it work in the face of rising energy costs. Green energy is becoming necessity rather than curiosity. If you compress air the heat it has concentrates and temperature rises. If the air was hot before, squeezing to half volume can make it oven-hot. Squeeze more and you have a plunger fire starter. The energy is in the air more than the work of compressing. Stretch the same air and it cools, btw.
Remarkable work,economic,light weight and useful.
very interesting... great job.. and thank you for sharing this video..
it was awesome project and i got 50 on 50 in this project thanx for uploading this video
Great job done by making use of the scientific principles to the fullest and even more happy for the cause supported by you..."The children home"!!
Many people want to do things like this. But we just think about it. Great! you just did it. God bless you
Amazing job, teaching other to use solar energy is a really noble deed. I am gona share this so more people turn to solar cooking. Thank you,

This is good intermediate technology. Thanks for the post. I suppose you meant carton box------------Posita
I think practical life is so powerful than any type of knowledge
Great job ! Please make video on how to make parabolic solar cooker and water heater for household use with cost effective material
congrats ! keep it up !!
wonderful. Keep it up
this video is so interesting.. can't wait to build my very own solar cooker..
110 degrees? so it boils water?
Very helpful...
How much time need to prepare food in a black pot only in sunlight ?
why? why are you not speaking?...you should be proud of yourself for having made such a possibility for green living. Please speak and re-record it so that this reaches to the english speaking people and throughout the world.
You made our India proud!
why did you paint the inner foil black? and can we use any black paint?
Great
Nice

bahut acha hai
Can we make a solar panel at home
i am interested in making solar cooker and watched many videos on youtube and settled on this finally. But, i shall replace thermocol with coconut fibre and used woolen clothe pieces and the transparent plastic sheet with a glass plate. I shall let you know once i make this.

Q?
Does a reflector realy maters?
Will it increase the heat? Or not that much?
yes it matters a lot.
thanks sir
sir make this video again with conversation
excellent brother
Need of d hour, every one should try this out and save electricity
plz give clear instructions
Mohammad Farid shaikh
wht kind of paint did you use?
It could be any kind of paint like normal paint or water color but the best choice is spray paint or if you don't have any black paint than just use black paper

I would love to build this for a lot of people...tell me where do I put the materials you mentioned?..please include pictures of them..
thanks

camera bahot dor hai
Where the top opens up as a reflector, would adding side reflectors make it too hot? Maybe it could cook faster or more?
yes, i think this is still in development stage...Its time we use all means of natural methods for our daily lifestyle.

surya 12...good video but u are very fast. Unable to read.
which black paint, an oil paint will release toxins, or can we get the pots and the base coated?
yes i agree
but you could replace paint with black paper
You can make black coating of soot from a flame. It will coat very flat black. Just don't touch!
where is your audio voice kya kya saman lya kuch bataya hi nahi
Sir I want this
Are saman to bataya hi nahi
ye sub Kiya hai Kiya cooking Kara hai
