45 years old been drinking since 14,, heavy binge drinker. Thing is you think your indestructible but once you get to your 40s things change, not just physically but also your brain can't handle it like it used to,, it started to turn me into a loony. The thing is with alcohol if you have underlying mental health conditions it just makes you crazy, same with drugs,, it puts you up into the realms of insanity. Thats why some people can drink forever but they don't sleep or eat and are completely dysfunctional and wreckless,, because they are on unsafe levels of madness. And often these people like i was are also taking every drug they can get hold of,the two go hand in hand, but trust me the older you get it is very slippery slope,, your i danger of losing everything because your chances get thinner and thinner every year. I completely stopped drinking last year and now I can’t imagine going back because I feel so good without it! Mind and body much stronger and sharper without it!
I stopped drinking & smoking for 3 months & I haven't smoked or drank any alcohol since. I miss smoking weed but health is wealth & health comes first. I'm 32yrs old & I'm starting to be more conscious about my health because I don't want to wait till I reach 50 & then decide I want to start talking care of myself because it might be too late & things might start going wrong so to avoid any of that I decided I will stop & once in a blue moon I may drink some wine & sometimes I vape but only occasionally & at first it was hard for me to stop but music is one of the few things that helps me stop & I exercise more by running & doing some push ups & I'm keeping it that way & I barely go out or hangout because I would be tempted to start back smoking & drinking again
Me too, I quit smoking weed in 2019 an I was doin it every now and then but I stopped completely an I do miss it sometimes but u right health is wealth an I was never a drinker so that was easy to completely quit.
@RonaldJames-eo2hc.. That's smart. It's good you're starting to monitor your health at your age now. I'm 48, and I can tell you it's harder as you get older, but if you begin to be more conscious of it at a younger age, it'll be easier. My cholesterol and triglycerides started creeping up during my early 40s. By then, old habits are harder to break. I just got my lab back last week and it's the best it's been in years, but it has been a lot of work. Good for you that you're taking it seriously now. Keep it up!
Facts! Turning 30 and I’ve been health conscious lately tryna start back working out and still praying to quit smoking but I slowed down a lot compared to how I use to smoke but no drinks rarely occasion
Went from smoking every day while living with my ex in my late 20s to now stopping a few months after my 32nd, glad I put the drink down in my early 20s as well. May go back to a lil or just stick with edibles but it definitely takes a toll and can tell my body is trying to detox with all the mucus and phlegm I've been releasing. Drink more water and keep healthy kings we all we got.

Props to Warren for him sharing this personal story. Props to all you grown men out there who are going through sobriety and putting your health 1st. Addiction is hard as fuck to overcome. Haven’t had a drink in 2 yrs and stop smoking them cancer sticks in 15 yrs. It ain’t easy but it’s all possible. My kids and their mom is my motivation. I ultimately do it for me. When you love your life and freedom, it can be achieved. Props to all of you.
Man....I used to drink heavy in my 20s-30s, wake up feeling like dog shit the next day just to do it all over again. Like the man Warren said, I won't say I'll never drink again, but it will have to be on a day when I don't have anything to do the following day or just have ONE drink (it's hard just to have one, so I'd rather be sober, lol!). Filling the day with productive activities helps (work, school, exercise, pursuing hobby/passion project, helping in the community, etc.) Peace 🙏✌

Yup, I'm 28 and I've been hospitalized three times because I struggle incredibly with alcohol. This last time I went essentially into shock and couldn't move because my body was shutting down due to poisoning my liver and no electrolytes in me. Got control very quickly this last trip and have been blessed greatly with what has come. I will be honest, I do drink when I go out still and with friends, but that needs to change all together in all honesty. Day by day and just so everyone knows my opinion, alcohol is the hardest drug to quit and the worst drug in existence

This popped on my timeline. I never question the reason, maybe GOD wants me to provide wisdom/my experience. I had a non-alcoholic fatty liver which comes from junk food(sugar, fast food, etc.) I didn’t understand why my stomach was big since I’ve always had a small/slim frame body. After my diagnosis, I learned about drinking lemon water(putting lemon slices in room temperature water). It helped, tremendously, for a healthy liver and flat tummy. Also, to eliminate mucus from the body, I drink lime water(key lime slices in r-t water), every morning. Drinking alcoholic beverages or not drinking alcoholic beverages you can still have health issues but always seek medical help. Thanks.
Can’t sleep, get the shakes, mood is irritated, can’t focus cause i want a drink, cant sit still, hands shake etc. I am 3 days without alcohol and i really don’t want to drink anymore.

I started working out again, slowly and not too hard to where you're okay to come back the next day. 2nd; Realize that the truth is that there is NOTHING good from drinking alcohol. Truth is it's a poison and it's holding you back from doing better in EVERYTHING in your life.

@ I think drinking every night is excessive. Maybe try cutting it down to just Friday and Saturday and keep reducing until you no longer want to drink. Then
Alcohol and cigarettes literally have no benefit for the human body whatsoever. NEVER touch cigs and if you do happen to drink just drink a little. You don’t need to drink until you’re seeing double or can’t walk. Just have a drink, once you feel the buzz stop and then sip water (slowly) the rest of the night….
I just passed 2 years in September staying off alcohol. Best decision I made in a very long time. My head feels clear I feel energized and I haven’t been this sharp since I was a kid. Sometimes I get the cravings but now they pass just as quick as they come.
People don’t realize they have a problem until its too late. Too many end up with permanent problems when they should have stopped and started rehabbing in their 20s or 30s
i’m 48 and i definitely started drinking more at the start of the pandemic, then got divorced during the pandemic and about a year or so ago i noticed i couldn’t wait til 5pm because i was drinking everyday almost, I think most of it was out of boredom, i was so use to being married and someone in the house, but once i caught myself, i limited it to the weekends, but lately ive been considering quitting all together
People numb themselves with alcohol and drugs because of feeling miserable being their normal selves its a mind thing but once you get addicted you become dependent find another hobby🤷🏾♂️ before adult hood everybody was kids enjoying themselves normally accordingly thru outlets of other things to be involved with joyfully but as we age we get turn onto mentally impaired addictions dependency which train our mind thinking its substances we need to feel better within ourselves It's A Trick A Mind Thing SOBRIETY! 🙌🏾 GET TURN ON YA GET TURN OUT🤔
People should go visit ERs and nursing homes and rehabs to see the effects of that addiction. Many in the last two are them in a few years if they are lucky
That's the strategy for me. I've noticed if I don't drink for several weeks, and then I have a couple beers or scotch, I get so excited to have them and it's satisfying. If you drink them all the time it just becomes a drinking problem.
I know what he’s talking about with the pain in your back on the right side I used to drink and get that same sensation and that was a sign to me from God that He was telling me that I needed to give it up. I finally did 15 years ago After I stopped drinking, I had more energy. My head didn’t hurt in the morning and I still ended up on dialysis. We all have to pay for our actions but God is good and I’m still here and that’s all that matters. All praises go out to our Heavenly Father.🙏🏾

Keep it up!

I struggled with drug addiction for 14+ years. Alcoholism too but not as bad. Cancer sticks too. I have over 16 yrs clean & completely gave it all up.

Thanks.

We did so much drinking from a young age (teenagers) up into our mid-late 40s. We didn’t realize how much damage it was doing to our bodies.
I try to only drink once or twice a week and not over do it. I’m 33 yrs old. All about balance.
