I was a heavy drinker for years almost everyday and now I’m 5 months sober, I feel so much better without alcohol and would never go back, if your thinking about it, it’s probably time to make the change… one of the biggest traps in society today

I’m almost 5 years sober after not being able to go a day without a beer for 10 years.
The key is to write and recite affirmations. “I am determined, I am healthy, etc”. Get really specific. Write down why you quit and speak to your future self. You’re doing this so the future you can thrive. It’s like money in the bank. Stay in routine and avoid new emotional connections for a while. You don’t want to shift addictions to a GF or an animal, etc. eventually you’ll balance out and it will become your new normal. Then you can search for a new partner whom matches your new higher vibration. Emotional stability is what will keep you going. I promise you, life is way better. You might not imagine how, but I will never go back. As a single male at 36, I have the healthiest mind set, healthiest habits. And most of all, I’m happy because I remember how hard I made life but succumbing to addiction. Also, the most powerful emotional people, end up battling addictions some time in their lives. You have a an amazing comeback story to tell one day, and it starts with beating addiction. ❤

45 years old been drinking since 14,, heavy binge drinker. Thing is you think your indestructible but once you get to your 40s things change, not just physically but also your brain can't handle it like it used to,, it started to turn me into a loony. The thing is with alcohol if you have underlying mental health conditions it just makes you crazy, same with drugs,, it puts you up into the realms of insanity. Thats why some people can drink forever but they don't sleep or eat and are completely dysfunctional and wreckless,, because they are on unsafe levels of madness. And often these people like i was are also taking every drug they can get hold of,the two go hand in hand, but trust me the older you get it is very slippery slope,, your i danger of losing everything because your chances get thinner and thinner every year. Like ozzie osbourne said your go either end up in jail, homeless or in a mental hospital. Some people simply have no control with it

I'm 32yrs old & I'm starting to be more conscious about my health because I don't want to wait till I reach 50 & then decide I want to start talking care of myself because it might be too late & things might start going wrong so to avoid any of that I decided I will stop & once in a blue moon I may drink some wine & sometimes I vape but only occasionally & at first it was hard for me to stop but music is one of the few things that helps me stop & I exercise more by running & doing some push ups & I'm keeping it that way & I barely go out or hangout because I would be tempted to start back smoking & drinking again

I'm 48, and I can tell you it's harder as you get older, but if you begin to be more conscious of it at a younger age, it'll be easier. My cholesterol and triglycerides started creeping up during my early 40s. By then, old habits are harder to break. I just got my lab back last week and it's the best it's been in years, but it has been a lot of work. Good for you that you're taking it seriously now. Keep it up!

Man....I used to drink heavy in my 20s-30s, wake up feeling like dog shit the next day just to do it all over again. Like the man Warren said, I won't say I'll never drink again, but it will have to be on a day when I don't have anything to do the following day or just have ONE drink (it's hard just to have one, so I'd rather be sober, lol!). Filling the day with productive activities helps (work, school, exercise, pursuing hobby/passion project, helping in the community, etc.) Peace 🙏✌

Yup, I'm 28 and I've been hospitalized three times because I struggle incredibly with alcohol. This last time I went essentially into shock and couldn't move because my body was shutting down due to poisoning my liver and no electrolytes in me. Got control very quickly this last trip and have been blessed greatly with what has come. I will be honest, I do drink when I go out still and with friends, but that needs to change all together in all honesty. Day by day and just so everyone knows my opinion, alcohol is the hardest drug to quit and the worst drug in existence

This popped on my timeline. I never question the reason, maybe GOD wants me to provide wisdom/my experience. I had a non-alcoholic fatty liver which comes from junk food(sugar, fast food, etc.) I didn’t understand why my stomach was big since I’ve always had a small/slim frame body. After my diagnosis, I learned about drinking lemon water(putting lemon slices in room temperature water). It helped, tremendously, for a healthy liver and flat tummy. Also, to eliminate mucus from the body, I drink lime water(key lime slices in r-t water), every morning. Drinking alcoholic beverages or not drinking alcoholic beverages you can still have health issues but always seek medical help. Thanks.

Was an alcoholic for years, months sober now. I'm better, but still some health challenges and honestly surprised I'm alive. 2 things: Change your routine to where drinking isn't part of your life. I started working out again, slowly and not too hard to where you're okay to come back the next day. 2nd; Realize that the truth is that there is NOTHING good from drinking alcohol. Truth is it's a poison and it's holding you back from doing better in EVERYTHING in your life.

Quitting drinking took so much effort. Rehab can work IF you want to quit. ONLY if you want to quit, otherwise you're wasting your time. All in 100% or nothing. And yes it's worth it

Im 37. I started drinking alcohol later than most, at 25. Yes, I had some good times but thankfully I learned I really don't need it. Its too expensive, no health benefits whatsoever, its poisonous and I realize I can absolutely have fun sober.

This is spot-on concerning the effects that not only alcohol has on our bodies. But the American diet is ladened w/tons of sugar, salt, fat, and processed foods. If we don't take back our temples and feed our kids good, wholesome, natural, unprocessed food, obesity and disease rates are going to continue to keep us sick and addicted. Kudos to Warren G. for staying on top of his health, being honest with his Doctor, and most importantly REGULATING his diet/advice.😉💙👍🏾

Fellas take your health seriously The money doesn't mean anything if you're in the grave I don't think I can completely stop drinking alcohol but I've cut my consumption of spirits down to maybe once a week and if I have anything it's usually wine
