What a lesson. 🙏No pump can pump out clean water out of a poisoned well. Our tongues let out what's in our hearts, be it love, bitterness, peace etc. The tongue is a small piece of our bodies but which can cause the most damage or repair to our relationships. May our hearts be changed so that we may voice what glorifies God. 🙏🙏

Pastor Rick, you are a very kind and wise man. Your teachings have helped me to get close to God and live a very happy life. I just wish you would please our Father by following his loving commands: "Keep MY Sabbath holy" "Remember MY Sabbath". God did not bless Sunday, he chose the seventh day, which is Saturday. As you know, Saturday worship was changed by men to accommodate idol worship.

I am wondering if you can present a sermon or lesson about NOT blaming God when something goes wrong in our lives or when we fail. I know you have a lesson on faith to deal with our failures, but I have not heard it yet. Is it similar to what I am requesting from you? I've been struggling with the options our nation has for president and my frustration has been evident in my words because I watched the debate thinking I would gain information about the candidates, but all I gained was a transfer of hostility due to how they were treating each other. It's just saddening. I need to always remember, no matter who the president will be God will always be present.

I cannot blame myself why I stay away from my mother. Because her words when she is angry can crash my heart and take away my self-respect.

So you will not regret one day when your Mom is no longer around (like I do) have a talk with her, ask her how she grew up: is she repeating the same patterns she grew up with (being shamed "so she can develop a strong personality") or maybe she is not seeing in you the macho characteristics males are expected to display in the Latin culture? or .... is she suffering from a mental illness? PTSD or BPD are very common mental illnesses for people that have gone through abuse or harsh situations. Do not voluntarily make yourself an orphan. A mother cannot hate his child, even if she tries very hard. Blessings.
Today we need God's help to control our tongues AND our texting, which is just another way we express what's in our hearts.

Whatever means of communication. Letter writing. Texting. Body language. Talking. things we don't say.
And probably some I'm forgetting.

Rick, I really like the part you spoke of about the different types of heart and what it actually reveals; however, I know a few people that really have some resentment and bitterness within them but they practice self-control with their mouth, even though they harbor those feelings causing them great stress. So does that still mean that because they practice self-control though harboring bitterness and resentment, do they really have a peaceful heart?
How do you clean the well? How do you cleanse the roots?
