The message that selfishness doesn’t get you far in showbiz. Even if you do end up making it big time once you get to the top, you’ll be alone up there, unable to share your amazing success with the friends and family you stepped over or on to get there in the first place. To really enjoy your accomplishments, you gotta share it with the world, share it with those you love, and most importantly, don’t cut anyone out. Everyone deserves to join in on the fun.
manuela pinheiro That pop musicians steal a lot of art that was originally made by other genres and water it down to something that has no true creativity. Mainly black dominated genres such as rap and r&b.
that's the point of it XD the entire point is that the pop trolls (Poppy specifically in the present time of the movie) thought that they were the heroes, poppy even wanting to try and show the country trolls different music because theirs sounded sad, branch being the character you see the problem with this through because he even states that he likes the music, because sometimes you need those sad songs, you don't have to be happy all the time, etc. It's just a really nice message tbh
I just watched the movie and the moment this song played, I fell inlove. Love the message behind the song. Music really conveys messages deeply. Just imagine a world without music, without art. Mad love and respect to all the artists, singers, songwriters, and producers out there ❤️
I was so pleasantly surprised that this movie’s message is about celebrating differences and warning about historical revisionism and cultural posturing. Other movies that have tried this message in recent years either are too tepid or even flat out encourage erasure, so this movie hit even harder with how much it didn’t miss.
The funny catch is that their statement about the pop trolls scrapbooks being "written by the winners and thus false" is false and the idea that their scrapbooks are lies can easily also be said about their records.
This has to be the most perfect song of the movie. It didn't feel too fast paced and explained perfectly and quickly what really happened and how everyone felt about it. The meaning behind it is even more beautiful. The Funk trolls felt heartbroken by the Pop trolls stealing the strings and they forgave them. They weren't angry or hostile like the other trolls. They accepted that people can change and while their past wasn't the best, the present and future can be better and they still cared about and loved the Pop trolls despite that heartbreaking history. It makes me wonder if the Funk troll elder was closer with the Pop troll elder than the others. Funk and Pop go together really well and the song sounds like a mix of the two genre's while all the other songs in the movie align perfectly with their own type. It feels like the Funk trolls were still holding onto that old friendship.
The funny thing is if you watch the movie, Poppy is just like Barb in not accepting other types of music. Don't believe me? She never actually hears the Techno or Classical Trolls music before the end, but she does hear Funk, Rock and Country, and while she is alright with Funk(and who wouldn't be?), she doesn't give any indication on rock (or if she did I didn't notice), but she outright doesn't believe country to be the proper way to do music, saying it's supposed to make you happy, and then tries to brainwash the Country Trolls with Pop to which Delta Dawn locks her up for disturbing the peace.
@@annafowdy, agreed. On a side note, sometimes when I watch this movie, I always find myself thinking in the back of my mind if Barb’s hatred against the Pop trolls would be considered as racism in the world of trolls. But i swear that this movie gets way better as an adult the more you understand it.
Honestly I loved the Funk Trolls so much, the historical references in their character building and world, also during the performance in the dancing scene you see in the back all the funk trolls were designed perfectly differently from each other, you can even get what sort of vibe and personality they give.
I know this movie is mainly made for kids but this song was pretty good and it sadly did tell the truth about the music industry today and how pop sees themselves as on top and amazing when there’s so many other genres that deserve recognition. I’m sick of remix’s and stealing others work

What hits different? The song is pretty straightforward I don't understand?
Denying our differences is denying the truth of who we are.
Deep.
Something that needs to be reminded to many.
The backstory must've scarred and hurted both Poppy and Branch deeply when they realized THEIR kind was the reason the tribes broke up to begin with.
