- Namibia is quickly becoming one of the hottest areas for exploration globally, following the announcement of the large Graff & Venus discoveries. But is the prospectivity limited to the Orange Basin in the south?
Here we investigate the hugely under-explored Lüderitz Basin, sandwiched between the Walvis Basin to the north and the Orange Basin to the south. With many characteristics in common with the Orange Basin, could the Lüderitz Basin replicate the recent drilling successes witnessed to the south?
What challenges face exploration in the Lüderitz Basin?
We also give an update on the ReconAfrica activity onshore Namibia in the Kavango Basin, with the drilling of the Makandina 8-2 well.

They will all come out dry Wells.
@@nguvikuzatjike1365 Shows have been reported so far in the Kavango wells and we are keeping an open mind. Flowing hydrocarbons to surface convinces me every time! The offshore wells can be assessed from the wireline logs. Always important to take samples to check there are no surprises when it comes to development - but operators like Shell & TotalEnergies know the business!

Absolutely Jp. Though details are not in the public domain it is commonly stated that Shell & TotalEnergies have proven multi-billion barrel reserves in their first few wells. Exciting times for Namibia!

Mike the Offshore oil been drilled is it Medium Sour, Light Sweet, Heavy Sour/Sweet?
I think it is just a matter of time and its all barrels heading to the market after that.
Am sure there are companies looking long and hard after Graff & Venus discoveries.
