Yes! Super Metroid came out when I was 15 and that was the definitive video game experience of my youth. I'm 34 now which is probably right around where you are and I'm convinced that we are in the sweet spot age for video game history. I now play this game once a year around this time and it never gets old. Excellent video!
Thank you! I appreciate it! Hopefully you’ll get reminded of some of those things you’ve forgotten... the things that made the 80s and 90s so wonderful!
I know this video is seven years old and I might have already left you a comment but damn it ... I just rewatched it again and had to fire up my SNES. Right now I'm watching the intro of this masterpiece. Gonna be a long night!
Very well written and produced. So many of these videos on TH-cam continue on and on and nobody has two hours to talk about a game. You did it in perfect timing. Great editing and production leads to a thumbs up 👍
I've been watching your retrospective videos as I wait for my SNES classic edition to arrive next month. It's the perfect way to wait for the chance to revive my teens years playing after high school or carefully reading magazines about the newest games in the 90's Of course Super Metroid was there
@@Stevesndkayla218 personally, I have to go with FF6 (3) What a gem. Not that this one isn't. Just something about Celes taking care of Cid in the second half. And that last fight with Kefka. Man. I'm gonna have to go play it again now...
Great to see a video from you. I thoroughly enjoyed this. You did a fantastic job communicating your experience with the game as well as showing what makes Super Metroid so special. I really want another Metroid game like this or Prime. One that's all about atmosphere, exploration, getting lost, getting engrossed into an alien world...
This is the best review of Super Metroid, no - the best review on the whole internet I have ever seen. Literally (I seldom use this word). The way you described the game is perfect. There is only one little flaw that I have with the review - the map joke feels forced. Everything else is top notch. Mad props to you NESComplex, mad props.
Agreed. Snes had a lot of master crafted games from various genres. Link to the past is the perfect Zelda game, SMWorld is the best SMB, Final Fantasy III (6) is the best FF, Super Metroid is the best action/exploration game, Chrono Trigger is the best JRPG, etc
A friend of mine, when it first came out, told blockbuster that his kid destroyed it so he needed to pay for it and they only charge him $64. Which was genius because it was available for rent before it was for sale!! I played it for two hours in his surround sound stereo. Just amazing.
yeah i don't know if there was a version in the states however here in PAL we got a big box edition which came with the players 72 page guide...kinda how earthbound did in the states i believe
rossosnaruto I sold mine about 5 year ago for £25 a few month before I got back into gaming, what a mistake that turned out to be they go for like £60-70 now :(
I remember having a "lock in" over night at my church. I took my Super Nintendo and we had it hooked up to the projector in the gym. Everyone loved playing life size Super Mario Kart! But as it got late, and everyone trickled off to the dorms for bed... Lights off, alone in the gym, completely captured and lost in the world of Super Metroid playing on this huge projection screen!!! The highlight of my early teenage life!!!🤗 I absolutely love this game!! Even to this day I have it downloaded and play on my 3DS, and now Switch eShop Super Nintendo! It's really cool how this game affected everyone...even still today!! Great video!
Thank you Toby! At the time, my goal was to make sort of a love letter to my favorite game, so I really tried to give it my all... it means a lot for you to say that.
This was a beautiful video, I loved the part where you explain how the areas you can't reach stay in your mind until you finally acquire the power up to explore it
Is way simpler than you think, when you jump and press right on the d-pad Samus spins to the right in the air if you happen to hit a wall she will keep spinning but going down. That's exactly when you press and hold the d-pad in the opposite direction then press the jump button, repeat again until you reach a higher area. Keep in mind that while she is still spinning against a wall you have plenty of time to do it even if she is failing down, so you can recover from a bad timing. If you control the jump in the air you don't even need 2 walls! So you approach the wall spinning and repeat.
@@voltrainer I played it with a keyboard only and is pretty much same as with a controller but some bad quality d-pads are a huge issue because they input a diagonal instead of just right or left i.e. the original Xbox 360 controller.
I never thought ever in my life i could fall in love with a video game......... but you changed my mind with your review and abridged version of a description in one of the top perfect games ever created......... i call for a vote amd for you to be elected as president of earth and the galactic federation of planets! NES complex for president 2020!
good review but i disagree that is was released at the perfect time. that is actually the one and only blemish on this game, is that is was released right before dkc and it didn't sell well at all.
NESComplex Timing is one of the main things that has held back the franchise as a whole lol almost all the metroid games were released at bad times but i get your point
@@TranslatedAssumption the fact that people still pay to play it to this day in 2020 shows you the staying power of the game, let alone the top SNES games.
What I like most about your videos is that this is obviously a topic you love and enjoy and you put a lot of creative energy into them. When I re-took my Nes out again and started playing the games I never got to play, because of you I went and bought the Original Metroid and I am glad I did. I am a child of the 90's and the 16-bit era was my glorious time gaming as a child. Please keep making videos man you do awesome work!!!

Cool man, that's good to hear. You've got my support 100%! I've seen you in a couple of other youtube videos and I was wondering when you'd make your epic return. What a great game to come back with... METROID... such an awesome title. :)
You know your video helped me discover an astounding point about SM. As hyped as you were about it, when you first played it your first reaction was "meh", this was a very similar reaction people had when "The Shinning" came out in theaters, and yet both you and I know, both are considered to be classics now, some of the greatest of all time, and, as it were, both were way ahead of their time. You also mentioned SM's attention to detail, one thing we know Shinning to be famous for, there is always something new to discover in Shinning, as there will always be in SM. That's why they're genius. Thank you.
+Lee Bays I remember coming back to this game about 10+ years after playing it for the first time and just knowing how to wall jump perfectly. I am not sure if I even learned how to do it as a child, but somehow I did. It's like riding a bike, once you learn you never forget; however, getting good at it is the second step.
The original Metroid was dark, very difficult (your first time through), and tons of fun! Super Metroid took the same concept but made it even better and is in my opinion the best game on the SNES... perhaps all 16 bit games!!! I'll never forget the first time I encountered Kraid!
Wow.... It's so great to finally see someone who knows of the greatness that is Super Metroid. I really dislike it when people turn it down just because it's an old game. I personally believe that is the only perfect game in the gaming industry and it goes higher than that of Final Fantasy VI on the SNES. I applaud this video and agree with all of your points.
recently i found your retrospective videos; it's nice how you tell the stories of the games which all are also my most favourite games ever (mario,mm&mmX,zelda ,metroid,f-zero and so on). you send me back into the past and give me the feeling i had back then when i played all of them as a teenager ^^ and also sum the games up for neutral viewers who maybe never played the games.goid work!. i send you greetings from germany ✌
I hate how everyone gushes over super metroid and I could never get into it. I've tried playing it multiple times but each time I just get bored and uninterested. I never know where to go, and while the exploration is a huge part of the game, sometimes I feel like it's a little ridiculous. I want to feel that awesome feeling that leaves gamers speechless when they play super metroid, but I just can't. I'm honestly jealous.
I really like the game but your right exploration in this game is a bit too important. And there is this one glitch where a certain power up won't appear after you beat a boss (can't remember which one). This guy is also lying when he says the wall jump move is easy.
I was fortunate to play Super Metroid back in the day, it was awesome. 20 years later I have the opportunity to play any of other awesome games I didn't know about back then... but ended up playing again Super Metroid, and it was great again, I was like "hmm.., I was supposed to do something here", "Ooh... I remember this place, cool", "what am I missing?", etc. I've never played Link to the Past, so I gave it a try weeks a go, and just left it after two sessions, it was nice but I guess is because I already know more or less what to espect(exploration and backtracking), whereas with Super Metroid back then was something new, if it instead were Link to the Past back then and never played Super Metroid is very probable that it would had happened to me what it happened to you. So, for me to enjoy Link to the Past I think I just need to mentally setup myself, to play it in a relaxed manner, and enjoy it, no hurries. The same may apply to you for Super Metroid.
I enjoyed Metroid:Fusion and Metroid:Zero Hour more than Super Metroid, but after plaything those games, I am going to go back and play Super Metroid and see how I fell.
Heres the thing dude, even though the game is a masterpiece it also comes down to if its your style of game or not. For me I love non linear experiences but for some people they hate having too much freedom. Some people like Call of Duty where I can't really get into it. I like Metroid where some people hate it becauses theres too much to do. Also some people like multiplayer where in most part I prefer single player. What it comes down to is not all games are for everyone. Although I honestly have very few games I don't like, some less than others but I play pretty much anything.
I almost cry... this is not a Nice Review, this is an awesome review!! Nintendo please, please, make a remake of this ! maybe not now cause we want it perfectly, not good, perfect! i would kill to play a remake of this game on prime style or something like that...
Like first person? Not like the piece of shit of Metroid Other M? Perfect right? It will definitely take hell of a time to make such an amazing game into a first person.
Not really, Since, firstly, The controls were just shitty. Because of the removal of the nunchuk. And using the d-pad to move and stuff. Secondly, The Samus in there. The voice acting was just... Dead. She showed no expression whatsoever. She acted overpowered by some G.F guy. even though she is way more badass, has an amazing suit, amazing arsenal, awesome moves. Thirdly, The reason why she couldn't use the abilities. Adam just told her not to use anything but the morph ball, and beam. And she was all like "Ok, I don't mind. I'll follow your orders 'cause I just have a stupid story with you." Plus, The Varia Suit, Gravity suit, and some other shit did no harm to the place or the people. They just benefited Samus in her survival. No harm done. Fucking game... Fourth reason, Her interpretation. We have seen how Samus was throughout all of the games. She is an independent woman that doesn't give two shits about shit. Badass and all. In this game we saw a woman that obeys orders just like that. Without giving a good reason to do it. Fifth reason, Adam Malkovich in this game. In Metroid Fusion, the game after the events of Other M, according to the timeline, we saw that Samus had a special bond with Adam. He was a father figure to her. Very dear, in fact. But in the game We didn't see any of those reasons. We just saw a straight up asshole that went on barking orders at Samus. Like... There should've been some reasons to make the player be like "Alright, they have a nice bond. Like father son or daughter. It's understandable why she missed him so much in Fusion and at the end of Other M!" No, we didn't have any reason to be like that. Nor for Samus to be like "NOOOOOO, WHY'D YOU GO ADAM!!!! YOU WERE LIKE A FATHER TO MEEE!!!! D:" No. We instead were like "Girl, Why the fuck do you miss that asshole? Guy can go fuck himself. Just... AAAAGH, SAMUS! Get yo shit together. He was your fucking former C.O. Not your actual C.O. Goddamnit, Samus." Yes, that was pretty much all of the fan's reaction towards her affection towards Adam. Hell, we even got more affection towards Anthony than for Adam. Oh, and last thing. I liked the suit better than anything in that game. Maybe I'll give it another try though, I don't know. Maybe. Probably not.
I sort of disagree. Sure it would be a lot of fun, but I don't think they would be able to replicate the perfection that is Super Metroid. I feel that part of what makes the game so amazing is the nostalgic SNES graphics. It just wouldn't feel the same in 3D. Also, the limit on the graphics is what made it so easy to find perfect hiding spots for items and pathways. I think a remake would be a fun game, and I would absolutely buy it, but again... perhaps I am just biased, as I believe that SNES is the greatest system ever made, but I just can't see it having the same impact that Super Metroid had/has.
Men you right, i can't stop play this game... my first console are the atari 2600 27 years ago, from there to now i play a lot but never find Another game like SM... Is the atmosphere, is zebez, i dont now but for me is simply the best game ever.. Thanks a lot for make this video and sorry 4 my bad english..
Super Metroid will always have that special place on my heart, I remember the first time I played it I was so scared, the music, the enemies, you didn't know what to expect, but I just couldn't stop playing it, scared and everything, but I wanted more, till I finished it and just yelled felt that sensation of achieving something special, special memories that will I'll always keep in my heart, as I keep my Super Metroid cartridge on that special place on my book shelf, we need more games like that, we really do ^.^
Super Metroid has next to no dialogue, no hand-holding, and is still ten times better than most games today. I feel like developers these days are missing something. They have decided to fill their pockets with money, instead of pleasing us with amazing worlds, characters, and stories.
I would say that it holds your hand at least a little bit with the recharge stations, comprehensive maps, abundant energy tanks, and to an extent, the X-Ray goggles. It's a great game, but I wish it was a bit harder.
DrGreatJob I'm not particularly good at zipping through games, nor do I enjoy it. Even if Super Metroid does become hard with that challenge, though, it doesn't change the fact that the game's resources make a normal run rather easy at its core, which is what counts in the end. It's possible to make even the easiest games brutally difficult with the appropriate artificial restrictions/challenges.
***** Actually, with AAA games like Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor, Wonderful 101, Dying Light, Mirror's Edge, Metal Gear Solid 5, Evolve, Xenoblade Chronicle X, Red Dead Redemption, and upcoming games like Persona 5, Last Guardian, Zelda U, Kingdom Hearts 3, etc., I believe we have been seeing the rise of AAA games becoming better. If the only thing you play is indie games, then how will you even know there are still good AAA games?
Absolutely, and far from everything I've ever played, this and the original are and will be, my all time favorite SNES and NES game. You have spoken words for this game so accurately, so elegantly that I must replay this game emulated again for the 50th time. Maybe sometime I can try to get every little secret and on another playthrough, get the best ending.
The part where you started ranting about other's problems with the game was too close minded. Some people just dont like forced exploration and non-linear games.
***** I'm not saying it is a bad game at all, but just as you put, it is not for everyone. However, when the guy in the video talks about people who didnt find the game enjoyable, he fails to see this and just says they are playing the game wrong or that they are idiots for not liking this type of game.
TheUnownOfAwesome You dont seem to understand what a troll is. Im totally honest right there. I just cant take all the political correctness nowadays, you have to take care that you dont offend any minority in the slightest way or people come and say "why dont you think of them people", jews get offended by shit -> fuck em. Gays get offended by shit -> fuck em :P. Women/Nerds/Poor People/Feminists/Politicians get offended by this or that shit -> FUCK EM. And people that kinda "meh" didnt liked super metroid and get offended when a dude who LOVES this game says "these people are idiots".... welll...... they should be fucked the hardest. no...... one...... cares..... about...... your ..... fucking...... feelings

Heyyy, I found u! I'm jelly of all your amiibos btw.
Well made little piece! Super Metroid is also one of my all time favorites as well. Great memories of this game!
The absolute best video I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.
Seriously? Thank you #humbled
I've been watching your retrospective videos as I wait for my SNES classic edition to arrive next month. It's the perfect way to wait for the chance to revive my teens years playing after high school or carefully reading magazines about the newest games in the 90's
Of course Super Metroid was there
Super Metroid is my second favorite game (sorry Super Metroid, but I love Chrono Trigger just a little more), your review is excelent.
Not a problem. They're both awesome games anyway.
I can’t decide between those two and ff6 or for America ff3. It’s pretty much a tie.
Either way, they are both legends.
@@Stevesndkayla218 personally, I have to go with FF6 (3)
What a gem. Not that this one isn't.
Just something about Celes taking care of Cid in the second half. And that last fight with Kefka. Man. I'm gonna have to go play it again now...
This is the best review I've ever watched
This is by far the best review i have ever seen!!!@michael kruber
Great to see a video from you. I thoroughly enjoyed this. You did a fantastic job communicating your experience with the game as well as showing what makes Super Metroid so special.
I really want another Metroid game like this or Prime. One that's all about atmosphere, exploration, getting lost, getting engrossed into an alien world...
I want another one too. Please Nintendo? There are some cool hacks.. Redesign, Super Metroid Zero Mission, etc.
Yeah, map joke was pretty bad, good job for pointing that out.
What are u guys talking about. Map jokes were the best
Don't forget "foilage."
Amazing and very eloquent retrospective. Haven't even played the game and I already love it. Fantastic job!
Agreed. Snes had a lot of master crafted games from various genres. Link to the past is the perfect Zelda game, SMWorld is the best SMB, Final Fantasy III (6) is the best FF, Super Metroid is the best action/exploration game, Chrono Trigger is the best JRPG, etc
SNES is the ultimate console.
PS1 is also the ultimate and PS2
A friend of mine, when it first came out, told blockbuster that his kid destroyed it so he needed to pay for it and they only charge him $64. Which was genius because it was available for rent before it was for sale!! I played it for two hours in his surround sound stereo. Just amazing.
Really enjoyed this! I picked up the big box version just last week! Glad to see you back making videos :-)
big box?
yeah i don't know if there was a version in the states however here in PAL we got a big box edition which came with the players 72 page guide...kinda how earthbound did in the states i believe
NESComplex
their is a BIG BOX for the pal version!! check amazon/ebay
rossosnaruto
I sold mine about 5 year ago for £25 a few month before I got back into gaming, what a mistake that turned out to be they go for like £60-70 now :(
even more, they have been selling for over £100 recently!
Speaking of atmospheric I really like the atmosphere you convey in all of your videos! Great style!
This is the best review i ever saw
What an awesome story! I would’ve loved to play super Metroid in life-size in a gym alone
Honestly this video is the Super Metroid of Super Metroid videos. It’s aged very well and is very purposeful.
Thank you Toby! At the time, my goal was to make sort of a love letter to my favorite game, so I really tried to give it my all... it means a lot for you to say that.
This was a beautiful video, I loved the part where you explain how the areas you can't reach stay in your mind until you finally acquire the power up to explore it
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it
I seriously cant get the wall jump down. i've tried for hours.
@@lmeza1983 ah gotcha. I mesn i play pn an emulator so that may effect button input
@@voltrainer I played it with a keyboard only and is pretty much same as with a controller but some bad quality d-pads are a huge issue because they input a diagonal instead of just right or left i.e. the original Xbox 360 controller.
@@lmeza1983 ah. I atill think it might have been the emulator as it only recognized a few button inputs at once. Made shinesparking a bitch
I love all your videos you do, congratulations. The era of the Super Nintendo was one of the most beloveds and where a lot of good games came out.
I never thought ever in my life i could fall in love with a video game......... but you changed my mind with your review and abridged version of a description in one of the top perfect games ever created......... i call for a vote amd for you to be elected as president of earth and the galactic federation of planets! NES complex for president 2020!
Hahahaha. Thanks
I got metroid 2 a few months ago. I like it but damn do I want to play super metroid now.
Excellent video Chris, glad to see you back on TH-cam!
It's nice to be back. Thanks for your support!
good review but i disagree that is was released at the perfect time. that is actually the one and only blemish on this game, is that is was released right before dkc and it didn't sell well at all.
Yes... you're right there. I just mean in the era in which it was released.
NESComplex
Timing is one of the main things that has held back the franchise as a whole lol almost all the metroid games were released at bad times but i get your point
It may not have sold well at that time but I daresay that Super Metroid has aged as well, if not better, than all other video games ever created.
@@TranslatedAssumption the fact that people still pay to play it to this day in 2020 shows you the staying power of the game, let alone the top SNES games.
The PERFECT review to a PERFECT game. You gained yourself another sub sir...👍
omg thank god you are back bro!
Thank you Eric! That means a lot to me!
Man, your video almost put me to tears, best game ever
This.Video.Is.AWESOME!!!!! Well written, well directed and brilliantly edited! It's the most polished video I've seen on TH-cam for a long time! It's amazing man!
Thank you!!!!
Nice video! Good to see you posting again. We missed you. :)
Square One Games! You're still with me... thanks for not giving up on my channel. I think life is finally settling down... i hope to put videos out on a more regular basis.
Cool man, that's good to hear. You've got my support 100%! I've seen you in a couple of other youtube videos and I was wondering when you'd make your epic return. What a great game to come back with... METROID... such an awesome title. :)
Childhood memories rushing back to me of a classic. Wish I could back and play it all over again from the my very first play!
Definitely my favorite SNES game ever... SUPER METROID is epic!
Glad to see one of my favorite TH-camrs back!
Thank you! That means a lot!
Thank you.
I'm surprised in 9 years no one has commented on your username.
@@Coolman13355 ….yeah me too! And it’s been almost 10 years thanks for noticing.
Love the video Chris, the villagers have been sent home and the torches have been extinguished.
I was getting worried... villagers.... torches... yikes!
25 people can't wall jump.
+Lee Bays walljumping isn't even difficult in Super
Haha :-)
+TimtheEnchanter Me too, but getting the hang of it now. Did it earlier up to a door and thought Kraid before getting the high jump boots
Wall jumping is easier than using the space jump for me
The original Metroid was dark, very difficult (your first time through), and tons of fun!
As much as I love FF6, SM ranks higher for me.
Yes there are many of us in the Super Metroid cult!!! LOL I agree. It is the most perfect game in existence.
I would argue that Paper Mario TTYD is one of the perfect games in the gaming industry as well.
I LOVE Super Metroid! One of my favorite games of all time. Didn't know the different weapons could do those things! Rockin' awesome video!
Thank you!!!
Best game ever. I completely agree. :)
recently i found your retrospective videos; it's nice how you tell the stories of the games which all are also my most favourite games ever (mario,mm&mmX,zelda ,metroid,f-zero and so on). you send me back into the past and give me the feeling i had back then when i played all of them as a teenager ^^ and also sum the games up for neutral viewers who maybe never played the games.goid work!. i send you greetings from germany ✌
Thank you Tommy! I’m so glad it resonates with you!!! I’m half German by the way. Cheers!!
@@NESComplex the nintendo power stuff is also great .i laughed my ass off 😂
I hate how everyone gushes over super metroid and I could never get into it.
Although I honestly have very few games I don't like, some less than others but I play pretty much anything.
dawood rashid The guy isn't lying because he didn't say it was easy. He said that once you get the hang of it... then it's easy!
even if i know these games in and out , your videos still give me goosebumps .. good job
Great review.
Your writing is damn awesome dude!! So friggin expressive and detailed. Fantastic work bro!
you sound like Android 17 from Dragonball Z and that's awesome.
oh wow
+DragonsEdge84 i try
I went through it with 15 years and no internet lr guides. It was quite tough, but extremely satisfying. It'll always have a little place in my heart.
It's great to see there are others besides me who worship this masterpiece.
So glad to see your back doing videos! This was awesome!
Thanks Billy! I'll be making them on a fairly regular basis... I hope :)
while FF6 is my favorite game of all time, I can not deny that Super Metroid is without a doubt the best all around game of all time
Its like I came back in time, the nostalgic music and super graphics for Sness at that time
You have just gained one more fan
To anyone who hasnt played it yet... it really is as good as he described it !
This game is simply still a game design icon. Thank you for noticing it's brilliance.
Slendy Psycho Other M was a good game dude, the third metroid game on my list
Not really,
Since, firstly,
The controls were just shitty.
Because of the removal of the nunchuk.
And using the d-pad to move and stuff.
Secondly,
The Samus in there.
The voice acting was just...
Dead.
She showed no expression whatsoever.
She acted overpowered by some G.F guy.
even though she is way more badass,
has an amazing suit,
amazing arsenal,
awesome moves.
Thirdly,
The reason why she couldn't use the abilities.
Adam just told her not to use anything but the morph ball, and beam.
And she was all like
"Ok, I don't mind. I'll follow your orders 'cause I just have a stupid story with you."
Plus,
The Varia Suit,
Gravity suit,
and some other shit did no harm to the place or the people.
They just benefited Samus in her survival.
No harm done.
Fucking game...
Fourth reason,
Her interpretation.
We have seen how Samus was throughout all of the games.
She is an independent woman that doesn't give two shits about shit.
Badass and all.
In this game we saw a woman that obeys orders just like that.
Without giving a good reason to do it.
Fifth reason,
Adam Malkovich in this game.
In Metroid Fusion, the game after the events of Other M, according to the timeline, we saw that Samus had a special bond with Adam.
He was a father figure to her.
Very dear, in fact.
But in the game
We didn't see any of those reasons.
We just saw a straight up asshole that went on barking orders at Samus.
Like...
There should've been some reasons to make the player be like
"Alright, they have a nice bond.
Like father son or daughter.
It's understandable why she missed him so much in Fusion and at the end of Other M!"
No, we didn't have any reason to be like that.
Nor for Samus to be like
"NOOOOOO, WHY'D YOU GO ADAM!!!! YOU WERE LIKE A FATHER TO MEEE!!!! D:"
No.
We instead were like
"Girl,
Why the fuck do you miss that asshole?
Guy can go fuck himself.
Just...
AAAAGH, SAMUS!
Get yo shit together.
He was your fucking former C.O.
Not your actual C.O.
Goddamnit, Samus."
Yes, that was pretty much all of the fan's reaction towards her affection towards Adam.
Hell, we even got more affection towards Anthony than for Adam.
Oh, and last thing.
I liked the suit better than anything in that game.
Maybe I'll give it another try though,
I don't know.
Maybe.
Probably not.
Thank you!!!! :-)
So nice to hear your voice again and it was an honor to meet you in Portland! Wishing you the best!
The honor was all mine. I'm humbled to meet people who watch my channel. Thank you.
Best review ever. A bit modest tho as Super Metroid is waaay better than he Thinks.
LOL. Yeah I didn't praise it enough, did I?
Great video. The editing was AMAZING. Impresive work.
Thanks a million!
Super Metroid will always have that special place on my heart, I remember the first time I played it I was so scared, the music, the enemies, you didn't know what to expect, but I just couldn't stop playing it, scared and everything, but I wanted more, till I finished it and just yelled felt that sensation of achieving something special, special memories that will I'll always keep in my heart, as I keep my Super Metroid cartridge on that special place on my book shelf, we need more games like that, we really do ^.^
Super Metroid is my favorite video game of all time
Nice, appreciate the effort that went into this video.
Ronniethesage Try to speed run it, then it becomes super hard
DrGreatJob
I'm not particularly good at zipping through games, nor do I enjoy it. Even if Super Metroid does become hard with that challenge, though, it doesn't change the fact that the game's resources make a normal run rather easy at its core, which is what counts in the end. It's possible to make even the easiest games brutally difficult with the appropriate artificial restrictions/challenges.
***** Yes they do. Nowadays, we have games like Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, Undertale, Firewatch, and even games coming out like Cuphead.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST REVIEW & VIDEO YET TO DATE FOR ME; AWESOME JOB!
Wow! High Praise. Thank you!
I just can't stand having to bomb EVERY inch of the freaking game
The X-Ray Scope is so nice. (As is the flashlight in Shadow Complex.)
Hennesg please, troll harder
TheUnownOfAwesome
You dont seem to understand what a troll is. And people that kinda "meh" didnt liked super metroid and get offended when a dude who LOVES this game says "these people are idiots".... welll...... they should be fucked the hardest. no...... one...... cares..... about...... your ..... fucking...... feelings
Hennesg oh irony
Beautiful, beautiful tribute! I love this game so much, you did it justice!
"walljumping is frustrating"
Comes from so called gamers from this generation... "Pay now to increase your level!" "Buy DLC and get 50+ attack on your herpderpsword!"
In short: Too hard? Try crying: NERF PLIS
Awesome review! Nicely edited. You put a lot of hard work into it, and it really shows.
Pretentious and boring
you are describing yourself

maybe? it takes one to know one.
Great video, tremendous game!! My all-time fave, I remember playing this game in the 90s with my friends, handing the controller back and forth. I still play this game at least once a year, it's too good!
