      @@shuttlespace04Britain could very likely design and build an attack 'copter - maybe even superior to the Apache. There has been instances of this in the past. However, two things usually get in the way: firstly the time frame, and secondly finances. The project more often than not starts to exceed the "in service" time and incurs vast cost overruns. The cherry on the cake is usually the lack of orders needed to make it financially viable because other countries would rather buy " the American one" (other countries may even be getting "leaned on" by the Americans to buy their's), so an order book of four to Oman and a provisional order of one to Ethiopia won't be enough to cut it. So eventually, having spent billions trying to bring it into service, the government will call time on it to cut their losses. The Americans will then take it over and end up selling the finished article back to us, and take all the kudos for it.

    • @orlock20
      @orlock20 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Even the A model had rescue attachments. The idea was that if one aircraft were to go down in a pair, a wounded guy could be placed in the gunner seat while the gunner attached himself to a ring on the outside. The other person in the downed Apache can be attached to another ring. Snipers work in pairs so they might be inserted or extracted that way. The down side, is the Apache can't use it's rockets or missiles because they could hurt those people when fired.

      wow, it has "stealthy" features to minimise it's radar cross section, well it's a shame there are four spinning rotors on the top which light up radar returns like no tomorrow... it has better range which is really good, but it sacrifices A-G loadout to have some A-A capability. Apache can carry a far heavier A-G payload, along with a Fire Control Radar which can scan targets to be engaged simultaneously- this is a huge advantage for the apache. not to mention, apache is well combat tested and upgrades make it the most potent threat.@@felixmourlevat44

    • @orlock20
      @orlock20 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Apache has direct drone control that can be over 30 miles while it hides behind mountains and trees. Militaries need to use a layered system to attack the enemy's weaknesses. That takes a lot of money. Even Russia was not spending that kind of money which is why it has lost so much in Ukraine.
