- The Grant Bridge is a road and tram bridge in Bucharest, inaugurated in 1982, which crosses the railway lines leading to Basarab Station and Bucharest Nord Station.
The name of the bridge comes from Effingham Grant (1820--1892), secretary of the United Kingdom consulate in Bucharest in the first half of the 19th century. After the bankruptcy of his "Fonderia de la Belvedere" factory, Grant is forced to sell to the state part of the lands inherited from the Golești boyars (Grant being married to the granddaughter of the great logofatian Dinicu Golescu). The rest of the property was parceled out by Grant, the land being sold to CFR workers.
