It's incredible just how ahead of time those early to mid 90's Memphis rappers were. The production quality might have been demo/garage quality, but the actual beats and how they're constructed, the flows of the rappers and repeated chorus/chants that appear in many tracks (for example Sewed Up, or Gangsta Pat's song Tear tha Club Up) was 15 years before that style of "trap" hip hop was in popularity.
@COSMO Makes sense. That kind of hip hop is very DIY, low-quality and very intense/extreme. You could. in a way, describe it as being hip hops equivalent of black metal.
@COSMO Indeed. If you want a modern example of this style, check out some Cursed (spelled CVRSXD) or early Ramirez (RVMIRXZ). This style of old Memphis low-fi hip hop is still very much alive, but it's mostly being done in Florida.

But grew up west of Cleveland, Sandusky area, had all the underground Bone, Mo thug tapes, everybody had a cousin or some relation to the Bone family back then in that area. But worked with a guy from Tennessee who introduced me to the Memphis underground back in the mid 90s, I never heard anything like it before.

@tommywright3rd im buying 3 of these CDs today. Anytime you can have a album and can listen to 98% of the tracks on the album and jam to all of them, that's a good fucking album. That's been the case with nearly all of the Memphis rappers of the old school days. Those Memphis kids that's grabbing the mic and doing their thing today, are the last hope for real music. Awesome awesome music TM3 and im a proud fan.

Mr. Wright III looks, dresses and sings like he's from our generation, somehow managed to get thrown back in time having to survive the horror again for the second time, already have come to terms with his prediction, rocking it for real. I am in love with his music - it feels right at home here in the post 2020s!
T3 put on a lotta ppl... look how many songs he doesn't even step on... on his own album... even in his high school days he was always gathering groups of male and female artists to make music
you have a point. I know it's a joke but they used midi i think. Aldo yeah lofi bc they couldn't afford better equipment. They are the real underground legends. Also I'll find a Triple six track, it uses a midi sample that sounds suspiciously from a game. Peace
