Easily one of the best Kart racers. Debatably even better than most of the Mario Kart games, and certainly better than that disappointing follow-up Crash Nitro Kart. I also love how Oxide is trash-talking while you're totally trouncing his ass.
This game is so much better than all other fun racers.... it is a shame that they don't make games this fast and fun paced anymore.... I want it on the Crash1-3 Remake, but i think thats hopeless :(

And why would he be near Gem Stone Valley? Because that's where Oxide landed! And why can't Papu just go there? The Lost Ruins is so close to Gem Stone Valley, meaning that Papu could save the world if he wanted, which he did. I DON'T GET IT
Well, It is possible that the tribe had canoes, so they could go throught the Archipielagos. The human been is always finding ways to expand their 'group', so that can be a possibilty. About the CTR map, obviously is a stage, representing the famous places of the game. However, I interpret that the place is like a big warp room. It could be N. Sanity Island, but, It has Glacier Park (Wumpa Island. According to Bandipedia, Wumpa Island have snow and ice in some parts of the island in Winter) and Citadel City (probably Cortex Island). And about Papu Papu and Gem Stone Valley, well I have 2 answers for you 1st answer: Logic. It's a game, you choose the 'Hero' to save the planet, and because of this, you have bosses. 2nd Answer: Papu Papu doesn't have all the Trophies and all the Relics to kick out N.Oxide. He can't even have a Key because of that. Sorry if I had a grammar mistake, English isn't my first languaje. Hope that explanation works. I've also been playing this for years too, it was actually one of the games i got along with my PsOne around 2002-2003. It didn't take me long to figure out that shortcut either after spending hours at a time on time trial mode.

Am I the only one who thinks it should've been Koala Kong instead of Komodo Joe? Nothing against Crash 2, it's actually my favorite of the series, but everyone else is a Crash 1 boss. It's the inconsistency that gets me.
maybe they thought Komodo Joe just brought a bit more variety to the roster since they already had enough big heavy powerful characters with papu papu and Tiny. they kind of had to have one for each stat spread

replayed the bosses without using shortcuts. ranking in difficulty 1. pinstripe - very fast with very annoying bowling bomb weapons 2. papu - really fast - the track's tight corners don't help when going around the pyramid 3. oxide - once you pass him, he'll never catch up again - just hit with a missile once or twice and then it's a piece of piss 4. komodo joe - hardly even a challenge 5. ripper roo - could you even really consider him a boss challenge
CrashMarioSonic as a kid I beat them using weapons now as an adult I can beat them without weapons in a minute I'm already ahead of them in the first lap mind you I don't take Short cuts I never consider that a being a good player ya it's hard to pull off but still consider cheating but those oxide trail races are hard cause of him doing short cuts even so I can still catch up really quick until the next short cut appears then I'm behind again only beat him the first level since the short cut isn't a big one like other levels anyways ya these bosses aren't a problem for me im actually giving them a minute head start to see how long it takes for me to catch up right I'm on 2 minutes head start it takes me about 2 minutes and thirty seconds almost three to pass him it's fun idea and a challenge but this game is really awesome
You're a good driver but I'm better than you, it's not about tricks it's about abilities, anyway good video and an almost perfect video game, should do one beaten N. Tropy and N. Oxide at the time trials, that's really hard
I've beaten Oxide with Polar.......WITHOUT shortcuts or cheats. It wasn't easy, mind you...but I'll never be impressed with people winning when they're taking shortcuts in racing games.

Its really difficult to pull a 60 FPS on a PS1 game when 60 FPS just became popular not long ago. If you play with some settings its possible but its not noticeable. Unless I've been play 60 FPS this whole time on my PS1 nothing seems to be changed
