Thank you for your dedication and awesome teaching Ed , I started making more trail sets this year, and the freezer is full of fur now. Tight chains brother
Great video. But if you were in South Carolina and touched a trap or no kneeling pad they would dig you up. Other thing is plastic bag they will dig you for that as well.
Good one Ed ... the trail set reminds me of the sets I used with foot snares when they were legal in Iowa ... I mean just the damn hard ground and dust. That set you made is high end set. Like you say, you get 4 chances ...I'll add ...if he's not a peg leg ...
Thank you Philip. If digging is easy I take it 18 inches or so. Because I am usually trapping a dry area I cover my trap a half inch. In freezing wet conditions just a skim of cover
Great job Ed! Love your videos so good! That trail set is killer! Not much luck with that step down though? Could coyotes shy away from it if its to big or obvious? Thanks though in all you do!
I've had areas that are more cautious. Two examples of lower RJ success is warmer hotel than normal conditions and areas that have very few pup coyotes. I don't know if this applies to your situation but I have experienced it in those conditions
Good video as always ed. Quick question. Pan covers you're using plastic sandwich bags right? I need to make a change on pan covers and I was wondering, thanks.
I would love to make that set for Coyotes , But in Pastures where the cows roam I just can’t take the chance of one stepping down like that an breaking a leg … Good Video Tho 👍
Just curious i trap here in north east Texas. Cow pastures and hay fields what in your opinion is the best way to make a trail set in a hay field without spooking the dog. I normally use fence cross unders were the dirt is showing. But I come across areas in the middle of the field I know they are walking. Alot of the dogs around here tend to shy from dirt holes. In certain locations
What the hell iza center pivot area? Trapping in short sleeves? Summer ADC work? USING BARE HANDS to~ 1. scrape together all the duff+litter. 2. pull dirt outa the hole 3. handle, set+ pack the trap in 4, scoop/pushing dirt into the sifter 5. scrape up a good big backing all around Ok Ed, bare hands is one of your secrets...do you pee close to your sets too?

I'm happy the trail set is working for you
Good stuff Ed ! I wish I had your dirt !
Great video Ed , glad to see you explain in detail your sets and how they’re to work; especially with your baits and lures… KEEP THEM COMING 👊👊
Nice looking Coyotes and re-makes. I like the fact that you done all that with bare hands ✋
You must have some tough hands 😆 Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for the video.I learn a lot from your videos. How far from the water source do you set these trail sets?
I appreciate your comment. As far as distance it varies. As long as livestock isn't a factor you can trap anywhere
Great sets Ed !! Thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot Eddie good trap and stay safe
Another very educational video! Thank you!
Your welcome!

It would be interested to trap there
Hey Ed do you have a website for your lures and baits?

I appreciate the comment. I had forgotten about the leg snares. Super tool
Thanks Ed!
Great video buddy!
thanks for all your videos. how deep do you dig your hole for the traps, how much cover over the trap?

I feel making a trail set right under their track is best. Use Seldom Fails gland lure and coyote urine. Hard to go wrong doing that

Lol! Center pivots are irrigation systems for crops. In many cases these areas have tall grass on the edges and not farmed.
Is that a proliferous dirt your using Big Ed ?
