Some great finds from your old settlement site. Buckle is nice and I've found a Best Solid Eyelet button too recently.1930 half penny at the end is a stunner. Well done.Cheers mate.
Thankyou, yes I was surprised when I started cleaning how nice the 1930 came up, It’s getting to the stage now that I’ve found so many buttons I’ll probably never be able to remember if I’ve found that particular one or not 😅😅👍🏼
Always interesting getting one's bearings with a new "site" that at first sight is just a jumble of vegetation, and then you get your archeological eyes on! The 1930 ha'penny on the outskirts of town, it'd be an obvious conclusion that maybe it's bigger circumference counterpart might have also been dropped in the vicinity. We know one having been found in a Westernport primary school that's still active as a school... After all the generations of kids sticking sticks in the dirt there, but like the formless bush or town outskirts dumping sites, it'd take a detectorist to wave their magic wand directly over, and dig it to find. Thanks for sharing, William. Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren.
Hi Gabi :) I always enjoy reading your comments 😄 It would certainly send a thrill up your spine to clean the dirt off and see 1930 on a penny, After detecting or exploring old sites for a while you certainly get better at looking for the archaeological signs 😅 Thanks for watching, hope you are keeping well
It depends a little on the thimble, most I’ve dug can be anything from 10 to 20 or even lower depending a bit on the quality and which way they are buried etc.. If you are fortunate to find a silver one they would ring up higher :)

Good lot of finds there William. Beautiful buckle. Congrats on the silver. Certainly busy digging all those targets. Well done. Take care mate 😁👍
Thanks Andrew, yes there’s certainly enough signals in the ground, always amazes me some places how much stuff people actually lost over the years 😅👍🏼
Nice finds
Thankyou :)
