I accidentally blasted my team last night with a seaf mini nuke. Had no idea how big it was until it went off. Classic helldivers moment to be sure.
Someone did that in one of my first games. Wasn't even upset because it was so impressive
@@josedorsaith5261 yeah one dude was real mad.
I was like. Yeah... That's a big one. My bad.
@@user-kv6xu5lx1o had a roughly similar experience, didn’t know which round the SEAF was on, thought it was a smaller explosive. I was wrong.
@@josedorsaith5261 I don't know how you can get mad in this game ots basically a party game
As someone who only throws away from my teammates, stop running into the clearly lit red light
Afterwards they'll get mad at you for killing them and kick you from the game. It's annoying even if you warned them not to go towards it
And then there's people who just throw it near objectives, where all of their teammates are gathered, with no heads up or anything 😭 and it'll be like a Eagle Airstrike and sweep more than just where it was thrown and launch everyone flying
Don't forget the grenades somehow bounce off things and roll right back to where you are occasionally🤣
Maxim 65: "After the toss, be the one with the pin, not the one with the grenade."
...but yes, also agree, who doesn't use impact grenades?
Alot of people are oblivious to airstrikes too & run directly into a group of bugs right after a strike is thrown
This, I cannot overstate the sheer number of ppl that just run INTO patrols while the stratagem red beam is RIGHT THERE.
I don't think that's them being oblivious to the stratagems. That's them being oblivious to the game.
@@Cabrera1027yeah like that’s just counter intuitive on anything higher than difficulty 5-6. The swarms get so big that running into the horde would only result in getting surrounded or friendly fired
The only TK's I ever get are when the stratagem ball hits weird terrain and bounces back at us, or I throw a stratagem at a horde of enemies and someone runs straight at it💀
It can be obliviousness but for some players, like myself, it doesn't really appear/render right away. Don't know if it's network sorta issue or just a game bug but it does happen.
Fun fact your stratagems get scrambled by automatons, watch where you throw those "supply" weapons before you drop a cluster or 500kg bomb on your toes 😂
Yea, this is a planet modifier on some higher difficulty automaton planets. Lots of chaos to be had.
There's also a planet on the terminid front that has ion storms that srambles them
No way i thought i was glitched last time 😂😂 it scrambled on me and i kept using the wrong stratagems
Double fun fact: you can still see what you’re about to throw and you can also look at the color of the ball
Not ending with "Would you like to know more?" was a missed opportunity.
Also a good tip. Hold to throw. Find the arc you want. then dive forward and let go to make it fly even further. Letting you get survo asisted theows without the armor. But most importantly it feels and looks cool to do.
Killing a charger with a resupply is also an achievement on Steam. That being said, I use impact grenades to thin out bug carpets following me, it's your fault if you're in the middle of them. Also, arc main, my team stays the f*** out of my line of sight.
If you throw at a little bit higher of an angle you can get closer to 50m. If you throw right at the beginning of a dive you can add about 10m to your throw distance. I hit bot fabricators on the move by ranging them out to 60m, dive tossing an airstrike, and moving on before the stratagem has hit the ground.
I killed a charger with a resupply because I ran out of ammo. I timed it perfect, threw one behind me, dodged as it came, and the resupply landed on its back, killing it. After that I got an achievement that i didn't know existed. Lol
The expendable anti tank is a better alternative to resupply, with its short cooldown and still sticking to the enemy
They said if you are out of supplies. As in, out of ammo and grenades.
I think they meant that you can smash the enemy with the drop pod it comes in and then pick up the rocket launcher to actually use it@@Largentina.
True, but killing it with the expendable anti-tank doesn't give you an achievement
@@cadenmcerlean4920Yep, as soon as I saw that it was an achievement I started throwing resupplies at every charger.
The resupply is basically a second railcannon strike when there's chargers about.
Multiple armors have increased throwing range, not just that one. DON'T USE HEAVIER ARMORS, THE ARMOR VALUES ARE USELESS UNTIL THE DEVS FIX THEM
Bought the game today and a friend told me about this. Came here to spread the word.
Nicely done!
yes and no. while armor values dont work all other stats do. heavy armor is still the best in regards to survivability due to armor traits. one of the heavy traits is "fortified" which helps a lot for accidental teamkills by providing a seperate explosion resistance which actually works.
I don't care how bad it is, I'm wearing heavy armor because it looks cool
You can also throw further by throwing while mid-dive. Also, angle of your throw does matter! You can throw further by angling it closer to 45 degrees!
Stratagems also stick to shielded teammates. So definitely don't "accidentally" stick them.
Accidentally did that once to a random player, luckily, he knew to just take off the backpack.
When I did the same on purpose to a friend of mine, all he did was run after me, trying to get me killed as well.
I survived.
I throw with a 45 degree angle, it ‘feels’ like I’m throwing further.
But I haven’t tested the ranges, probably worth a shot.
Sometimes I even dive and throw with a 45 degree angle for more effect.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that throwing at a higher angle than the one in the vid will increase the throw range. Not certain what the optimal angle is though
If it uses standard logic, a 45 degree angle is always the furthest distance.
Yes it is just like irl physics. Maximum distance is achieved when throwng at a 45 degree angle
Now we just need to tell the hunters to stop catching eagle strikes like their interceptions and we'll be good
"How would you like a taste of democracy!"
GREAT! Now I just need my teammates to run away from the 380mm barrage when I give them a ten second heads up!
@@deadshot5845 STOP RUNNING AT IT, I CAN HANDLE THE MED OUTPOST ON MY OWN!
if you throw it at the next outpost on the main path the team intends to take, you just slow down the capture and thus progress of your team. if you splinter off and use 380 thats fine just dont use it on objectives your team is trying to take
Also, NOT EVERY ENEMY NEEDS TO BE KILLED WITH AN AIRSTRIKE!
Sounds like you're not a fan of freedom, soldier. EVERY enemy needs at minimum an orbital laser equivalent or more to be dealt with. No exceptions.
One more outburst of this unpatriotic banter and we will be forced to peacefully reprogram your perspective.
Now get out there and assist Veld, the bugs are encroaching close to Super Earth!
this coming from the people who use launcher turrets atlest with bullets you know you're in danger but a motor will take you ot randomly just because you stood near a enemy
resupply also works on bile titans. especially easy to stick when they start spewing.
part of the fun of this game is getting dismembered by my own teammates on accident
Also, I discovered that all Eagle stratagem (except the strafing run and 500kg, which come from behind you) come in from your left to your right.
If you are on a plant with large obstacles, your payload of choice can and will them hit if thrown incorrectly.
Armed with this knowledge, go out there and spread some democracy.
As someone who has killed DRG dreadnoughts with resupplies before, I fully condone the second message.
I cannot play without servo assisted armor because I have it engrained in my memory how to perfectly throw grenades and stratagem beacons at any range up to 97m at any time
Not 100% on this yet but I find angling up and holding the throw for a second (your helldiver will load their arm back for a throw) you can toss about 50 meters
Another thing to know is if you let the throw animation fully wind up there's much less chance of your beacon bouncing
Also, regarding that last point, if you throw a reinforcement beacon, wait a few seconds and then tag a big enemy, fabricator, illegal broadcast mast, etc that needs crushed, the Diver(s) coming in in their pods can see it better from above and have a better chance crushing it with their hellpods.
Him : "stop killing you teammates"
Me : "I ALREADY REJECT MY HUMANITY"
Just gradually practice as you play. Play enough and the feeling will come naturally. Stopping to do gauges and calculations will get you killed. "Use the force Luke, let go!"
Servo assisted is love
Servo assisted is life
Additional notes from a jump pack user
1 jumping up with out moving then throwing at the peak of said jump allows for a much further throw (i know this might be common sense but every bit helps)
2 you can throw them while in your jump arch and they will go forward so you can clear spots you need to land in if needed
Bruh I be launching nades like over 60m into bugs nest . Screaming Kobe every time lol
I got too used to servo assisted so I sometimes lowball my throw angle at really long distances, but I can hit the top of a bot assembler way more times than I get the orb bounce off a wall.
If you're having trouble getting your team to get on the Pelican at extraction, just throw an Eagle Smoke strike near them to scare them. If they see the red beam, they will board the Pelican faster than Sonic himself. As a side effect, the enemy will have a harder time shooting at you in the smoke, so it protects the landing zone as well.
"Grab em by the Supplies!" 🏆
Resupply for the win!!
Idk if this works truly but, do a dive
I call it a flop drop but basically,
Ready the throw, and then, dive, and then release the throw as youre at the height of the throw
Gives about 10 extra meters or so
When somebody coughs:
... was that a bug in your throat ☠️
I just eyeball it. It’s worked out well for me. I don’t miss.
This is also how you range-find your scope weapons.
No, I don't think I will.
Wait you can ping a target! That's news to me, guess I'm booting the game back up to go test it
I feel like too much time would be easted trying to calculate the distance and through at the right angle.
I'd honestly say the best way to do it is through just playing the game and getting the experience, I've played for less than 90 hours and usually hit my target dead center when tossing grenades.
TLDR: experience is the best teacher.
"Caught them by supplies!"
The second tip is really useful, gotta give it a try.
I see a vertical red line on my screen I just start sprinting in the other direction. Don't even check to see what type of stratagem it is. Learned that lesson too many times
“What a catapult of an arm!”
The resupply pod, more deadly than orbital laser lolol
Chargers have stopped being a problem ever since I unlocked the recoilless rifle.
I just have the problem of my fellow helldivers running towards my strategems without fear
Also, the reticle for your aim when you have a Nade cooking in hand shows the trajectory and landing area. The circle and dot shows it's got a sort of like recoil to it much like regular fire arms. If you crouch, or at your own risk go prone. You can have more accurate throws. It especially helps for bug holes and factories.
Me casuallythrowing the precsion strike at a detector tower about 90m away
Same with reinforcing, they drop you right where the hordes are, either drop them behind the hordes to pick some off, or off to the side to flank.
If you dont have the servo assist armor on and want to throw farther than 40m, dive while throwing. you can push it to almost 60m
*achievement noise* Caught by Supplies
AND don't get ragdolled while you're trying to throw. You'll drop whatever was in your hand.
Yesterday: Drop in on diff 8. We had a small bug hive near us. After sending in a perfect placed eagle aistrike we went in to close the holes. Suddenly our 4th team member throws in a 380mm orbital barrage... Whole team dead, one bug hole still standing👍👍👍🫡
I am convinced I get killed more by my own team then the enemy
Improved deep rock tactics
Any resupply stratagems work on chargers but the resupply resupply gives you an achievement.
There are no accidents, it is what it is
I knew the stratagem thing, but thank you for the ping tip. That's really smart
Nah, I'm just going to keep indiscriminately throwing out my orbitals
i experianced that the expendable antitank is SO GOOD against chargers, with its 1 min cooldown, you have it ready almost every time
This would be useful if my team stopped trying to run directly into my strategems
Throwing at around a 45° angle seems to go just about 55m. More often than not the missile itself takes out the Fabricators before the explosion happens
I just yell heads as i activate the hellbomb
Ah, yeah, then you fail the throw on the charger and the stratagem capsule bounces away from it.
Kinda hard to not whiff throws when I'm getting my skull caved in by chainsaw weilding automatons
this is standard military procedure anyway, calling your air support etc positions
BUT to be fair, unless someone panicked and tossed one during close engagements, you really can't miss such a bright red light shooting into the sky (unless you summoned a 380mm HE)
Good tips!
I always aim at an area lower than them and get their attention causing them to walk right into it
I just tell me teammates to run away before I throw it. Solves the problem.
Creativity is the key
I learn new tech, while holding the beam press dive and throw in mid air😂
Nah bro, liberty will guide my arm
I got lucky and the first time I hopped on, I nailed 4 orbitals in a row. Another possibility (which I know, it’s dumber) is to play some catch outside. You’ll figure out how to read the distance and understand the strength of your arm and know what angle to throw at
Let's be honest, when you're in combat being swarmed by enemies, diving for cover while a berserker breathes down your neck, you're not doing any of this. You're just chucking the beacon and hoping for the best. 😂
i mean after a few hours you just get a feel for it
You can also dive and throw for more distance 😊
Counter-argument: ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I use my EAT bacon on chargers all the time even closing bug holes since the cooldown is so quick.
The resupply trick works on bile titans too.
I was never whiffing a throw, bros just ignored my call outs and decided to walk into the glowing red beam
Actually I have a really good feeling how to throw very seldom that I miss my target.
Ping your grenades mid throw to 1.) Know the distance and 2.) Warn teammates of impending local democracy.
Logistic wins wars taken to the next level od the meaning XDDDD
Aside from the achievement by killing a charger with a resupply, any hellpod drop will get the job done.
I’ve never had an issue with under throwing. Usually I miss because I miscalculated the ETA.
Just… get a feel for it. That’s literally all I do.
Or... now hear me out ... when i call you back in cuz of my awesome throw *coughs * you can land on the chargers 😂
Situational and environmental awareness, just like in real life, prevents you from dying.
It is rather silly when players cluster together, therefore dying together.
I kite around the enemy, patrol the team six o'clock thus protecting them and avoid going close to players who use stratagems badly.
I also steer clear of panicking players, people who yell to their mics etc.
I just run servo throw and a jetpack. If your on highground and jump with speed then throw mid jump at about a 45° angle you can throw a grenade or gem halfway across some of the medium sized maps
i got this placebo affect where i dive jump and throw thinking it will reach further distances
This is something a lot of people need to see. Don’t know how many deaths I have from my own team blowing me into a million little pieces
What??? I started playing a couple days ago and realized you could do this.
Just got back from a game where these dudes were dropping orbitals ON OUR EXTRACTION LZ
Killed two of us and the dumb dumbs nearly died to the chainsaw robots
Real Story. Like about 30% of my deaths Are team friendly fire
Artillery sentry is a big offender, there
I use the long throw armor because I love being able to chucks the strats as far as possible. And when I take that armor off to do something else I go oh I hate this so much now! And always swap back I love the long throw distance. I kind of think the throw distance of with normal armor on is way way too short
