Getting $80.00 per 4x5.5 heavy fertilized round bales for 2nd cutting hay. Custom bail for $30.00 per roll. Rain has stopped so production is going to slow down with temps averaging 100 plus. Love your videos.
@@billbray5995heck if truckin wasn’t so high I’d buy a bunch. You can’t touch good Bermuda hay out west of you about 6 hours for under a 100. And you don’t want to know what alfalfa brings.
I'm in upstate NY. Hay was weeks late and not terribly thick. We had some heavy, late frosts. Raised hell with the fruit trees. A lot of fields haven't been touched yet.

hay is very high here too. got up to $ 16 for a small square bale around march . i sold out by October. last year was a terrible year. so dry that even with irrigation there wasnt enough water. this year just got my first up. three weeks late. wont stop raining. here in Colorado we are wet. nice to have the rain though.

I think you have the incorrect bolts for the JD mower Ben. If I am correct, the JD’s use a KUHN mower deck and discs. There should be some topped bolts with a bit of square section shank that go in from the top with t nut facing down. I could be completely wrong of course.
While I like the version Zach Bryan sings better, that gal has an amazing voice. Your better half picks the songs if I’m guessing 😏 Ben if you ever get a chance, try a new holland mower and baler. While we no longer round bale, went to midsize bales because we feed most of ours, they truly have great hay equipment. Glad Andrew made an appearance!
Good luck with the flag netting . We did 2500 bales of corn stalk bales with it and the netting didn't last a year and had over 1/2 of them rot off of them. Hey did you get hit with the wind storm? We got about 6" of rain but not much wind.
The part that is missing is called the accelerator. It’s u shape. As they wear you switch it from left to right and right to left. They should last you 2 or 3 seasons
@@iowANFarmerwe have an 18 model 946 the outside 2 have an accelerator and the rest of those bolts have a guard to protect the nut. You NEED those to get the nuts off, otherwise that will happen every time.
Nice net wrap. Interesting I always thinking how improve crops in dry years, it would interesting raking onto row of corn that establish to see moisture is retained n organic matter is increased aka like hay that helps in veg patch? I would have crunch numbers especially how many rows vs grass area in between rows of corn. I would like try composting too.
Difficult to identify a "greatest" hay production video, however, if yours were to be selected, it would be do to Andrew's participation. He did not pay me to write this but if he had asked, I would have accepted payment .🗽🇺🇸🚜👌
So that Vermeer will feed net regardless of which way the roll is oriented? Noticed you put the roll in two different ways (wide blue to left/right side of the baler). That would cause major issues in a Deere. Wide stripe always goes to right side.
Wish there was a way to show you the progress of my pumpkins this year!!! Well above my expectations.just started vining this last week…if there is a way let me know.
13:13 does that roll need a couple more wraps??? eh... cool, but ummm eh for the patch stuff, can you double the wrapping?? without gummin up the machine?
SW Manitoba the hay crop is looking pretty decent. for the first time in 6 years every field is worth cutting. far cry from 750 pounds to the acre average.
Hay around here is hit and miss. I know some people have had the best hay crop in years and some it's not worth going over. As for us our hay is less than a third of last year's cutting. With the price of fertilizer and diesel it's running us 71 dollars a roll and we can buy it for 45 a roll. It's a failure this year for us. Done already sold a few head of cows to help with pasture
Great hay video and even better music to go with it
When you guys get your pumpkin patch store going are you going to have a Wayne Day so we can meet him??
Good call Ben, I was telling the screen, more wraps, 2 reasons, it will hold better and look better at the pumpkin patch.
I'm sure glad changing that net wrap was simple. 😊
Andrew is quite a punny guy! 😉
He is!
Enjoyed the video Ben. 😊
American Flag wrap is nice. Will we get to see the FFA wrap sometime?

If it doesn't rain in most of Wisconsin second crop hay will be very very short. Hoping it can rain soon.Way too hot also. Thanks 😮.
I got my hay rolled up last week. 26 round bales off of 9 acres. I live in Western Iowa.

What is the target diameter bale for your purposes please? - it looks pretty large to me.
the 605N is a 5X6 baler, probably getting dumped out at 67"

How much rain did you guys get the last few days? Looks like southern iowa did well.
1-2” it’s been a nice rain accompanied with a rain storm.
Sorry I guess I haven't heard, how many acres of hay do you farm?
How's Wayne doing?
Waiting on grass to grow!
$275-325 a ton on 4x5 rounds up here, must be pretty rough running to only get 10 aph with 3 mowers.

Washington state alfalfa price half of last year.

Western pa, 30% + - less hay, good hay just less of it.
A few days ago 180 round bales in a barn combusted.
That’s our guess here too. About 2/3 of a crop of hay.
Click bait like the 1 million dollar hay 🤣🤣🤣
