Micro walling in the heat of the battle happens from time to time but usually it's just a gate and 2 houses to stop melee units from reaching archers in your own base or just a few houses to protect woodline. This is different, it was a highly dynamic walling with two purposely sent villagers, in the hostile territory where you have to mind that enemy can delete most of the obstacles around, and it wasn't a single act of walling but continuesly walling for a long time without a smallest mistake. It's just a higher level of walling.

Well played, Hera! I just played a game against someone who tried to fast imperial with Turks, and they failed miserably with it since I was Britons and I went archers. For anyone reading, can a fast imperial work well against an archer civ that gets full archer upgrades? Archers seems like maybe the best counter to this kind of fast imp Turks aggression. It sweetened the deal that I was Britons so I had all that extra range in my favor.

What counters this is if the enemy goes fast castle and is mass mining stone. Instead of going mangonels he builds a castle right up against you’re walls. By the time you’re in imperial age he will have enough stone to push forward into you’re base and build another castle right in front of you’re tc. Before you’re able to pump out hand cannons. That’s one of the only viable counters to this
Nah, I’ve beat that strategy with this one before. All you need is one bombard cannon and he’s done for. By the time the castle was in my face, I was almost imp

i have a question regarding 13:20 - why not drop a stable ot two and just respond with light cav (soon to be hussar)? you might well need them later anyways, plus you wouldn't waste valuable stone on wall-off. i doubt he'd have halbs or monks in waiting.
I simply dont have the eco to make them. If i try to make the stable and say 2 hussar, then i wouldnt have time to mass hand canons. I delt with the mangonels just fine
Hi sorry to lurk in this late ! Does anybody know if there is a workshop mod to see how many villagers we are working on X ressource ? Or is it specific to "Age of empires 2 : The Age of Kings" ? Cause I have the 2013 edition HD and I don't find this mod (if this is a mod). Thanks for helping !!
Castle age skirms are probably too weak. The best way to counter is probably what his opponent did, a big push just before imperial age, he was just a tiny bit late. He was maybe 30 seconds away from destroying Hera's production buildings, and that would have been game over.

building those pockets to protect the bombard cannon and to cluster the hand cannon was a very clever idea which won you the game.

i love this map. it is so fun. every body thinks the wall grant you an easy boom, but you can play this map with rush and agression as well

Against non-Hera players, knights could have done the work as well. That micro was just insane.
If you get redemption monks it stalls him because he cant push without bombard cannons, that's what I've seen work really well.

you can walk through it.. until a worker touches it. the "caged" then has to destroy how ever many HPs the vil(s) has "built"
