The most painful challenge for the customer and EthioTele is the capability of its human resource and none existent customer service. It will be hard (nearly impossible) to lead in the market for the coming years.

If you are then think about how much these platforms have enabled the digital economy to thrive. And think about how much money is moving thru these platforms. So if ethiopia moves towards digitializing the economy then telebirr would be like a boost or Kickstart towards that direction. And usually these kinds of moves set off a chain reaction in a country that is basically untouched as far as digitializing goes so this is a fast move in the right direction. America wanted a peice of the action but was denied then out of the blue telebirr popped up which was like the nail in the coffin. Very strategic and very clever move.
