I hope we all were born at a very specific time. 😂😂😂
Seriously, I live in the Smokies and I have been lost here. Plus the terrain and the weather.
I searched for an escaped prisoner here. I looked for a long time and when I located him he was almost at my feet in waist-high vegetation. He wore camo pants and a dark tee shirt. I saw the straight edge of the bill of his cap and then I saw him. He was lying down and was very still. Movement gives you away. And, my search area was small. I can see how people just disappear here.

When served in the miltary in Northern Ireland in the early 90s we came across an intoxicated man wandering along the roadside in Learmount forest in the Sperrin mountains...he claimed to have crashed a car (it was December and at night) I went into the woods to find the car in case there was an incapacitated passenger and I practically stood on the car before I saw it on it's side in a ditch...I have no idea how he managed to get it so far into the forest without hitting a tree! Another member of the patrol said later...silly b@stard should have hid when he heard us coming and reported the accident the next day to avoid a drink driving charge!

I missed this stream by about an hour but after watching it there was something I wanted to mention about how much the culture around cigarettes has changed:
As a lifetime resident of Nevada, I have seen the casinos go from letting cigarette smokers have free reign inside the casinos to being restricted from literally everywhere but the casino floor.
You are not allowed to smoke in the hotel hallways.
You cannot smoke in the hotel lobbies.
You are not allowed to smoke in the restaurants.
It used to be so nasty just walking into a casino from the outside because you could literally -taste- the cigarettes in the air. Now it's not -quite- as bad, though it still stinks if you're near the casino floor.

Fellas, Starry did mot replace 7up. It replaced Sierra Mist.
7up is not owned by Coke or Pepsi though Pepsi does have distribution rights for it.
7up is owned by the Keurig-Dr. Pepper company.

Having worked for 2 of the 3 companies listed: mostly correct.
Dr Pepper sells its distribution to the company with the largest market share in the area, so in my area, Pepsi distributes Dr Pepper. In Tennessee where my family lives, it's a Coke product. In Texas, where Dr Pepper originates, it's like Thanos: they do it themselves.
7up is distributed by itself everywhere I've dealt with, but in different ways depending on what region you're dealing with.

As someone who has stopped watching a lot of your videos lately and hearing you say the last few have been duds I can tell you now it feels like retredding. I see a bunch of familiar names from other videos, and talking about just the one kind of missing person's case gets old fast. The videos are well done, but veriety is king. Keeping it fresh and finding unique spins on these videos is what gets people to watch. My favourite of yours is where you went to the guy found near the stream behind the bar. You were down there in person, breaking down why it was so confusing and giving your own takes on what could have happened while 'on the field' yourself. Made a pleasant change from the smokies and dead children stories. I always reccomend to people to get into your channel that one and the one where the woman was chased off a trail by men 'presumably' and spent days running from something. That had a neat mystery element and seeing how her story evolved and contradicted was super interesting.

I wasn’t here for the stream, but I thought I’d chime in on the hydrogen conversation, because I have a bit of relevant knowledge. I work in the energy industry as an inspector (fossil, nuclear, renewables, wind, etc). Hydrogen is not just flammable and explosive, it’s extremely reactive; which means it also causes corrosion when it is contained in various materials, due to its propensity to form bonds with other atoms, thereby breaking apart other molecules (like the steel or other materials that you make the tank that contains it). It causes unique types of cracking, blistering and embrittlement. It’s a PROBLEM in mechanical integrity. It also has a tendency to leak, simply due to the fact that it’s a tiny atom that can slip between other atoms and leech out of whatever you’re holding it in.
Then there is the issue that hydrogen isn’t “clean” like we think it is. We can obtain it in a few ways. Some are clean-ish: we can get it by electrolysis, in hydroelectric dams (which are largely carbon neutral (once their construction is complete; but that takes us into the environmental impacts of concrete production, which is a whole different topic) but even dams are not without their ecological impact. Damming a river is hugely impactful.
We can also drill hydrogen from deposits in the ground; and there is actually a lot of promise on this front, and research indicates that there might be vast quantities of untapped hydrogen. That said, it’s difficult to capture, for all of the same reasons I’ve said that it’s difficult to contain.
That brings us to the way we *actually* get most of our hydrogen. We crack it off of hydrocarbon molecules (we extract it from fossil fuels, especially crude oil and natural gas). Did you catch that? We’re still drilling for fossil fuels, and refining them, just to obtain H2. All of the carbon from drilling. All of the carbon from refining. Still a finite resource. But it burns clean once you have it, but the environmental impact is largely the same. Small, mostly inconsequential victory.
But with that last one, we’re missing a very important point that the conspiracy theorists also overlook for their own ends; where did I say we get *most* of our H2? Fossil fuels. The fossil fuel companies. BP, Chevron, P66, Exxon, Royal Dutch Shell. They *already own it* and you buy it from *them*. Why would they suppress it? It’s just another revenue stream for them. They own the source. It’s the same source as they’re already drilling.
Like I said, there are “green” ways to get hydrogen. But they are in incipient stages, and they’ll take billions of dollars of investment to ever become an energy *source*. Hydrogen is a moderately useful, if not fickle energy *storage* medium. It’s not at a place, now, or in the near future, barring *massive* investment and commitment, to be an economical and efficient *fuel*.
We’re far better with a mix of wind, solar, hydro/tidal, with nuclear as a steady, safe, clean backbone; and continuing to invest in energy *storage* technologies (because that’s what’s lacking with our current grid). Battery technology, unfortunately/fortunately, tends to be a steady gradual march, rather than a thing that jumps off the page with peaks of advancements and innovations.
Maybe there is a role for hydrogen in our energy future; but it will be part of a multifaceted, multimodal approach (and likely a niche part). It is not a panacea; anyone who tells you it is is either underinformed, or they’re selling you something (see: the fossil fuel corporations, who, as I said, already make most of the hydrogen).

I have always been fascinated by missing persons cases. So, they interest me the most. I’m not a conspiracy theorist at all, I’m a firm believer of OR, but I enjoy hearing different perspectives. I am a bit superstitious and also believe in most of the paranormal. I also enjoy when you go “on location” or close to the locations of the cases. I know what a lot of the National Parks and areas of these cases look like for the most part by doing my own research or visiting the parks, but seeing it in real time helps with processing possibilities.

I grew up learning how to camp and hike in the smokies, around Roan Mnt in particular. Son, treacherous doesn’t do those mountains justice. Malevolent is more appropriate. It’s like driving a doge viper, the bones of that range want to kill you the moment that you get too comfortable with it. They’re beautiful and absolutely wonderful, but you cannot let your guard down in those mountains.
One of the first things I learned was have a route plan, a communication plan and a “move (cardinal direction until you come across a road) in case you get lost” plan, stick to it and leave those plans with someone to expect you back at a certain time.

So, late to this convo a bit, but I've worked with hydrogen fuel cells for a decade or so, so if you want some more direct info from someone who works with it, feel free to reach out. But, the cliff notes version is, hydrogen has a LOT of advantages in CERTAIN use cases, but the infrastructure isn't there currently for large scale consumer use. One of the big advantages though is that it CAN be made with just water and electricity (most industrial scale currently is not made this way), so it's potentially a good way to create an easily transportable fuel from excess energy production from say solar or wind farms.

Hydrogen fuel cells basically are hydrogen-oxygen reusable battery where you have hydrogen in the anode with a catalyst that causes the hydrogen to turn into protons which flow through an electrolyte membrane towards an oxygen rich cathode which reacts to the protons creating electricity, water and heat. The electricity then powers a motor, but as you are constantly breaking down hydrogen into protons you will need to refill the hydrogen tank. Hydrogen fuel cells are a great way to make an electric car have more range, but of course its currently limited by a lack of infrastructure (not enough hydrogen fuel stations, theres only about 60 stations in the US so far and most are in california) and the cost of manufacture are very high as the batteries require platinum as the catalyst and platinum is not cheap. Hydrogen combustion engines burn hydrogen to create energy like a gas engine, and there have been promising developments in hydrogen combustion however its limited mainly by its combustion efficiency.

Just some feedback on that video, the long-time viewer that actually did watch the whole thing. I now understand. Maybe why so much was left in, if it was edited in a day. I don't edit, but I'm sure it's a lengthy process. But the feedback is that it was really long. A lot of the talking, because it was kind of a flow of consciousness or spitballing. Kind of talking as you went, felt repetitive and a little redundant. I do think it could have been edited down a lot more. Maybe in the future instead of including just all your stream of consciousness. Thoughts as you walk, show points of interest with your assessment courted in a little bit more of a concise fashion or something? I'm not really sure how to work this, but hopefully you get the idea

No 7up is still around, thankfully its literally one of the only pop brands I drink anymore bc Sprite just sucks now after the idiots changed the formula and that Starry is absolute trash.

They changed Sprite? When? Of course I'm in Northern Ireland so it could be completely different here...all Coca-Cola products in Ireland are made in the one plant

Disney ruins EVERYTHING they touch! Just have the Pinkerton's chasing some notorious outlaws and during their pursuit the run into bigfoot. 🤷
The Bussy Bois are coming?! Ohhhh don't threaten us with a good time and thy milk. 😂

You have it all wrong about hydrogen fuel cell cars and technology. The problem isn't the technology, it's the hydrogen itself. It's not only very expensive ($34/kg), but outside of California you have to put in your own refueling point and have industrial gasses delivered to your house like you were a high volume welder. You can buy a Toyota or a Hyundai HFC vehicle today if you like, but only in California. You could ship it up to PA, and be stuck within a 150 mile or so radius of your house after you got the refueling station installed, which would be tens of thousands of dollars.
Hydrogen combustion vehicles are also limited by the hydrogen. The technology is out there and works--if and only if you are willing to faff around with the hydrogen itself. Cummins, as just one example, will sell you two different sizes of inline six cylinder engine, the smaller of which is the same one you get in Dodge/Ram pickup trucks; with the same engine block but different heads you can switch the engine between diesel, natural gas, or hydrogen. BMW also made an experimental engine which would burn either gasoline or hydrogen. Admittedly, the BMW went through hydrogen almost like it was water.
Check channels such as @agingwheels for driving impressions of the Toyota Mirai.

I pay for TH-cam premium cus I can't stand all the commercials. Instead you put commercials of all kinds of crap in all your videos. Also, you always bash down on David Paulides. He does not spew out commercials in his channel. Maybe you could learn something from him. I'm unsubscribing.

I watached and some constructive feedback. You guys sometimes are too quick dismissing some cases and when youre on site you already have your mind made up and theres not much discussion l. When you guys are there you should have more of a plan/outline of discussion. Its just a little all over the place. Also, youre just to fast to dismiss theories/ideas. It loses alot of peoples interest because we alreadt know what your conclusion is
