Disguise lang yang economic provision changes, ang ultimate goal is for unli term. Given the penchant of Filipino leaders to entrench their selves to power as in the case of Aguinaldo grabbing the power from Bonifacio by having him killed, I do not trust our politicians to truly serve the Filipino people. Pag walang term limit gagawa at gagawa ng paraan para manatili sa pwesto na kaya namang gawin dahil nasa poder..

The problem is the bureaucracy which is the system of administration marked by officialism, red tape, and proliferation. Corrupt People in the Government is the problem. Nobody follows the constitution. They want to change it under the pretext of progress but really for their own self benefit and gain. Shameless people really.

Which world are you living in thinking that we have liberal law in foreign investment? Even closed off monarchies in Middle East allows 100% foreign ownership now and they are already seeing huge influx of investments. Let's not go too far, Vietnam, a so called "communist" country has liberated their foreign ownership and has surpassed the Philippines in foreign investments.
Agree that we need to fix the bureaucracy BUT 60/40 is a barrier as well.
Are we waiting for every single country in Southeast Asia to surpass us? Mind you, we WERE the largest economy in Southeast Asia.
Well,not surprising.What can you expect of escudero or even grace poe, theyre lackeys of SMC and other big local corporations. These big local companies do not want charter change. They do not want to ammend th economic provisions of the cory constitution. They do not want foreign investors to come in, never mind if it will give millions of quality jobs to the filipino, never mind if it will propel the phil economy forward to be at par with vietnam, thailand, indonesia etc, never mind if these corporation would rather see our fellow filipino going abroad and working as slaves to bring in dollars into the country. That is how selfish these big corporations are. Maybe its one of the reason why they kicked out zubiri and replace with their "employee escudero" to head the senate.
Time to fight and force cha cha in for the sake of the success of the Philippines. No excuses, fight.

yan ang sinasabi ko, barag barag na ang suporta ni PBBM as far as economic cha-cha is concerned. Now, if ever that economic cha-cha cannot go into law then the foreign companies who promised PBBM to enter the philippines economic arena will have a second thought. Pati ang mga nangakong mag put up ng drydock for shipbuilding hindi na rin yan matutuloy. Lahat ng iyan ay magba back out kasi ang economic cha-cha ang kanilang hinihintay kasama na ang mga infrastructure upgrade na kasalukuyang ginagawa. Hindi magagamit in full potential ang mga infrastructures na iyan kapag nag backout ang mga foreign investors.
Why be afraid of ChaCha when it is you the legislators who will shape the amendments? Kung ang ikinatatakot makakain ng lower house ang boto, why not do cumulative voting katulad sa mga corporations on the principle that the upper and lower are equal and formed one legislative branch of the government? Kung 316 sila one vote each, 24 kayo bali 13.67 per senator. I believe pwede naman po sigurong ipaconfirm yan sa Supreme Court as legitimate interpreter of the laws. Suggestion lang po. Kahit kayo naman aminado na maraming dapat baguhin sa constitution. Wag sanang ipagdamot sa tao.
Kung sasabihin kasi baka ganito ganyan this is not the time baka maabuso, kasi marcos. Well people, EVERYONE is susceptible to being drunk in power kahit sino pa nakaupo. US nga nakailang amendments.
It might be out of nowhere pero siguro naman aware na tayo kung gaano kahalaga ang mga inihahalal natin sa pwesto. These are few suggestions I have in mind.
Sabi nga, 6 years is too long for a bad president and too short for a good one. Kung ikaw ba may magaling na empleyado pakakawalan mo ba? BUT
(1) PROVIDED, a term extension/reelection requires 70% or 80% of the votes.
(2) end the political dynasties through it or restrict it. Ang kapangyarihan ng gobyerno ay para sa tao hindi sa pamilya ng kung sino-sino. Katulad nyan, President tapos pinsan nya Speaker ng congress. Di ko sinasabing masama sila o corrupt sila pero kapag halimbawa napunta sa pamilyang corrupt, madali magkasabwatan. Katulad sa ibang City o Barangay. Mayor yung tatay, anak congressman, lolo governor. Diba? Sa Barangay tatay kapitan, anak SK, tito tia konsyal, tapos treasurer pinasan kung di asawa. DIBA???

(3) Isama na rin sana required Audit ng SALN and tax compliance ng bawat key officials. Ang nangyayari kasi SALN lang tapos kung ano lang gusto ilagay yun lang since di nao-audit ng coa/audit firms.
(4) Educational requirements. Cashier nga gusto pa ng Puregold college graduate. Government pa kaya para sa taong bayan at hinaharap ng bansa ang trabaho. Put a high standards di yung kahit sino nalang pwede. Lagyan din ng ecam bago makapagfile ng certificate of candidacy. Mga estudyante nga andaming exam para lang masute na pasado. May board exam bar exam pa. E sila pa kayang uupo para sa kinabukasan ng bawat Pilipino?
Kahit tambay basta maraming kakilala pwede maging kapitan. Tapos ang project puro paliga. Mga magulang nga nagsusumikap mapagtapos mga anak para umasenso sa kaalaman ta maitaas ang estado sa buhay tapos ilalagay mo sa gobyero kung sino-sino. Paanong tataas ang estado ng pamumuhay ng tao kung ang namumuno walang alam? DIBA???
(5) No reelection to any government seats sa mga nahatulan nang guilty sa corruption. Pakapalan eh
(6) Mandatory audit sa mga media services at mga chikadorang influencers/vloggers and their key employees such as editor in chief, reporters, writers, etc. Kung pwede isama na rin sana yung controls sa masyadong one sided na balita. Para mahuli kung sino bayaran at tahasang ginagamit ang opinion ng publiko para sa interest ng kung sino-sino. It's not censorship but enforcing responsible journalism.
(7) Moral requirements (?) kasi kahit babaero pwede eh. Ibang usapan kung divorce or mutual naghiwalay. E kung nambabae tapos iniwan nalang anak at asawa? Yung may kaunting hiya at decency naman ang ilagay dyan.
Sana yan din ang iendorse sa People's initiative. Di kakayahin ng mamamayan simulan yan kasi maraming mababangga. Isang pitik lang ng nasa kapangyarihan di na kami makakapagsalita. Sa inyong mambabatas sana magsimula tutal naihalal kayo bilang representatnte ng mamamayan.
Di pwede accumulative voting dahil may proseso na na nakatalaga sa constitution.
@@MyChiliIceCream If I remember correctly, ang issue ay "vote as one" kaya naging issue kung vote jointly or separately since madidilute voting capacity ng senate kung jointly and one vote per person. It became unclear as to how to proceed but I think the intent of the constitution is clear. Of course, it's outside of my expertise and cumulative voting is the only way I can come up with to maintain equality principle between the lower and upper house.
Like I said, it would be better to seek the guidance of the Supreme Court at hayaang sila ang ang magdebate doon kung paano ba talaga since Judicial branch naman ang legitimate interpreter of the law.

The 60/40 rule of the constitution reads as such.
Section 10. The Congress shall, upon recommendation of the economic and planning agency, when the national interest dictates, reserve to citizens of the Philippines or to corporations or associations at least sixty per centum of whose capital is owned by such citizens, or such higher percentage as Congress may prescribe, certain areas of investments. The Congress shall enact measures that will encourage the formation and operation of enterprises whose capital is wholly owned by Filipinos.
So the limitation of foreign equity pertains only to industry imbued with national interest and more glaring is that the constitution gives congress the power to determine which industries fall under such category. I dont really get why there is a need to amend the constitution when the changes sought can easily done by amending the law.
