Don’t be scared to try new things 🧪👩🏽🔬

Really good idea. I buy junk jewelry lots on eBay. I prefer to make use of everything, but I just could not figure out a way to use those rings. Now I found a way: your idea. Thank you for being more inventive than me. 💜💜💜
Oh gosh thank you so much for your kind comment.. I really appreciate it!! I’m always working off the cuff and I’m always trying to make something out of what I have most of the time. I hope you give these a go and please tag me!! Would love to see!! ❤

WARNING : This video is awesome. You are so informative. When using resin, I try to remember that it's extremely toxic. The warnings on the packaging are actual warnings and not "cover our backside" warnings. Resin will eventually causes respiratory and skin issues so they recommend people wear gloves and a mask to protect their health. If nothing else, they can wear gloves and ventilate their area well. Resin also takes 24 to 48 hours to fully cure, even though it's hard, and it's releasing toxic fumes that entire time. Until my project is fully cured, I keep mine in a ventilated room with the door closed. People have developed serious respiratory and/or skin issues in less than a year of using resin regularly. A great post by a resin manufacturer about resin toxicity is: Unveiling the Truth: Is Resin Really Toxic and Who is Most at Risk. Resin is awesome as long as people use it safely.
Hello and thank you!! Yes. I’m very aware of the toxicity of resin. I have used many different mediums and I’m always on top of what is safe or not. I have a ventilated system for things like resin and usually do most things outside in the summer. Whenever I am using something has a warning I do try and WARN people to ALWAYS air on the side of caution as in anything they use for the first time. That goes for spray paint, glues, rusting mental, electroforming , encaustics, sanding to resin… the “art resin” is a brand to be safer, but I still ventilate accordingly.. I may have not stated that well enough in this video, but I am one artist, that will always mention safety and ventilation… I don’t want “newbies” to be scared to try something!! But to always practice safety first… I do appreciate your reminder tho… have a wonderful day!! 🤓
@@angiegarciaart That's awesome. I hope you have a great week and thanks again for creating this video.
@@serenityjewelyour so welcome!! I may add this as a note .. just to remind other, especially beginners. I want everyone to have fun, be creative and have options. Thank you! It’s hot in Montana and fires are going wild… unfortunately 😢
Angie , you are such a fabulous artist ! I have been using UV resin on paper for a year now primarily photos !!
You have DONE A FANTASTIC JOB !!
You have been cautious yet encouraging people who don’t have “courage” to attempt something to go got it ! Worst case re print ! If using family photos ( me) I have many from late 1800 to present family - scan images and print !!
Thank you for showing winding the wire ! I don’t have any more earrings I have been using vintage optical lenses and they are amazing ! Also metal trays rusted ! I live 1 mile from the ocean so rust is always happening in my life !!
You are amazing !
The paper clips are fabulous!! I’ve already shared your video to my friend who is going to adore you ! Well done friend . Stay cool and continue with your exciting passion
Oh the tin types ! I’ll tag you on mine ! I did them for a journal DT project for Raindrop Lila after seeing Tracy now collecting cans going to need a storage unit for my “junk “ lol ! Love your enthusiasm and passion for the art !
Wow what a wonderful comment to read. You truly made my day even better so thank you! I try really hard to always state the facts when trying some thing new to be safe, but never scared. I also try to find others ways that are simpler for the ones that just don’t feel comfortable or want to invest. Things always have a work around.. I love experimenting and trying to figure out how to put things together as a kid. My favorite show was MacGyver so it’s awesome when I can get all MacGyver-ish! lol!! I love helping inspire others who appreciate what I have to offer. I’m not the best at speaking, but that will always be a “practice make better” . I’m goofy and I live to laugh, especially at myself…
Wow!! I love old photos and yes.. scan those babies. I live in the mountains of MT where we have 4 old cabins from the 1800’s to early 19’00’s I live in a very historic area lots of old mining claims etc. hai it’s always fun scavenging for old stuff.
Yes! Please share as I would absolutely love to see all that you are making! And thank you for sharing my TH-cam along. It means the world to me!!! Can’t wait to see how you use your makes!! Yay!
Thank you again for the sheep kind words, encouragement and support!! Have the most wonderful day, friend!! Hugs! 🩷🩷🩷
Thanks for sharing your technique! I love these. Today's project will be rusting some wire!
You’re so very welcome!! Yay!!! In rust we trust… lol! I hope you give these a go. Tag me if you do. Love seeing others work! 🩵
This is a cute idea. From making jewelry I have learned that you can press your earring finding down onto a piece of packing tape. Rub around the edge of the wire to be sure it's a good seal, and then your resin won't leave out. After the resin has cured, you just pull the tape off.
@@colleenbullecks1729 yes I do be have the blue tape ( for resin) I use that if I want the see through feel.. like with earring. But with paper I do this. don’t you just love packing tape ?!! So many uses!!
Thank you have a wonderful day!!
Thank-you, that will be so helpful😊
Cool little piece Angie! Love it.

How cute! I just found your channel a few days ago, and I've been binge watching ever since! I love your work! How, may I ask, do you rust your own wire? I've been crafting for ages, so I feel like I should already know how to do this; maybe I forgot!? Do you have a video on how to do it?
Hello and thank you so much for your kind comment… I appreciate it!! And thank you for supporting my channel means the world!
I use a mixture of
hydrogen peroxide
Iodized salt
And white vinegar
Deep glass jar or thick plastic
A ventilated area
Sorry I don’t have an exact measurement .
I fill the jar with about a 1/4 of the way with vinegar and then I pour in hydrogen peroxide or just enough to cover what I’m going to rust.
Then I add a couple tablespoons of salt.
I throw the whole paddle of wire in the jar.
It will get hot and foam up also will give off a gas. So that’s why ( in the summer I rust outside) ventilate if you’re going to do inside. Remember if you fill to full it could foam over. DO NOT ADD A LID!!
I leave in until I get the desired rust on the wire… I check after a couple days.. you can let it dry naturally or do a quick rinse. Pat dry.
Do not poor off excess in the sink if you have metal pipes. Dispose of it properly.. I just let mine evaporate
Over time my wire gets rustier. Being in the open air…
Hope this helps or gives you a little insight to go ahead and try it on your own. 🤓
I have tons of these for earrings. Im definitely going to try this. Thank you for sharing this!!!
Yay!! That’s awesome… I can’t wait to see what you make. Tag me when you give them a go, I love seeing others makes! 🩵

Thank you for sharing this!!! Love these clips! & love your pup snoring 🐶💕. Can you tell me what king of earring parts you used? Thank you
Oh thank you for the super kind comment.. it’s really appreciated!! I got them at Joann’s fabric in the erring finding section. They came in a pack of three different sizes… I did buy these a while ago, so hopefully they will still carry them. If you give these a go tag me!! I love seeing others work as well! Have a wonderful day!!💙
The wobble stops when you apply resin, I do it in thin layers, front and back when I need to secure dainty elements with UV resin
That’s great! 😊 yes! That’s why I only do thin layers and if I want thicker I will add more and cure in between. Just wanted to mention that so others don’t go crazy. lol! But yes thank you for the suggestion always appreciated!! 🩵
💜💜💜
Thank you! ❤
What a great idea! I have a stash that I didn't know what to do with them. Well now I know. Thank you for sharing!

He is a French bulldog. I love Bostons and yes they have a cute little snore. Thank you and thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!💙
WOW
Thank you so very much!
Such talent! How did you make the paper clip rusty?
cool!
Thank you!
Love love love these.. I want to buy the rings. What are they called?
Thank you so very much!!!! I got them a while ago, but you find them at Joann’s in the earring isle ….. they come in a pack of 3 different sizes. 🤎
I must say it is refreshing to see that I am not the only person who struggles with my 3-in-1 vomiting all over when I try to use it after storing it upside down. :-) Artsy problems. 😂
Oh thank you for making me feel so much better. 🤣 if I would just put it my sugarbelle bottle and some acetone!! No… no.. let’s just let it get thick, store upside down and let it vomit 🤮!! 🤣 thanks for the laugh! Have a word day!
this is quite neat. tyv,m - where do you suggest to purchase the hoops please?
Hello thank you so very much! I purchased these from Joann’s fabric store.. but I have these for a year, but they may still sell these..🤓🤎
@@angiegarciaart
wow - that was fast lol - ok I am in Canada so will look at Michaels - -its really kool and I love your casual way about you tho the explanation was perfect - tyvm!
Great idea… where do you get the rusty wire from⁉️
I have not bought the paddle wire in quite a long time as I have several spools of it but my go to place is in the florist section either at Joannes or Michael’s. Make sure you look for the silver wire and not the green.
Love this!! ❤ Are those Kai scissors you are using?
Hello.. thank you so very much!! They are from ranger ( Tim holtz) .. they awe amazing with a slight serrated edge to them… 🤓
@@angiegarciaart Thanks! I recognized the red handled ones from Ranger (I have those, too) and I thought the black handled ones might be the Kai ones that I have, which I bought years ago because they were recommended for trimming unmounted rubber stamps and have been great for that and so much more but are starting to get dull (I’ve used them on some of the toughest things!). I really love the red handled serrated scissors, so I’ll check out more Ranger scissors! Again, thank you for this video and for replying to my question!
@@osofine23 of course and thank you for the kind words. You may know this already, but try cutting up some tinfoil with your dull scissors.. it may help sharpen them up. We still have an over 100 year knife shop here, so I take mine there is need be. Have a wonderful day! 😊
where do you get the wire earring thing?
Hello.. I believe I got these at Joann’s fabric.. they come in a pack of 3 different sizes
This is cool. What wire did you use again?
Hello.. thank you so very much.. I used 30 gauge wire found in the floral section of Joanne’s and Michael’s .
Can you use a gel nail light for the resin?
Well… I’m glad you asked! Yes. You can. It is what most use to cure the resin. The flashlight is just easier when I’m in a hurry, but I do use my plug in all the time…
They make ones that are in art stores for resin art, but they are all the same. ❤
lol.. also, it was late and I misread this. I thought your first question was can you use UV polish a.k.a. gel polish as an other source of resin..😅 well, I tried and it worked. So thanks for sparing that idea.. because I also show you how to use wore as a frame as well! Win win right??? ❤🎉
Where do you find rusted wire?
Hello.. I find my wire in the floral section at Joannes or Michael’s. It’s on a paddle make sure it’s the silver wire and not the green as the green will not rust. You just want the plane silver wire.
You are rarely in frame so cannot see what you are talking about or showing us
