Who is Garden State Tortoise?
However you made it here, thank you and welcome to Garden State Tortoise. Garden State Tortoise is home to hundreds of animals from all around the world. We are a family dedicated to adventure, conservation of wildlife, and all things nature. We are a reptile rescue and breeding facility for more than ten years, offering refuge to those who need it, and working everyday to protect the beautiful world of reptiles in any way we can. Here on our TH-cam channel you will be able to join us on our animal adventures while learning how to care for, protect, properly identify, feed and even breed many species of turtle, tortoise, snake and lizard. We even work with frogs and salamanders! We hope you enjoy our videos and help us share them with the world so we can continue to educate people of all ages about herpetology.

Friends!
What was your favorite species on this tour and what would you like to see more of in future videos?
Aldabra Tortoise, final answer! I believe Brian Barcyzk's tortoise Matilda is an Aldabra if I'm not mistaken, and she's beautiful just like yours. Hope to see you guys at Animal Con next week!
@@CliffTheAlien Matilda is in fact an Aldabra 😎
Musk Turtles cause I just got one 😁
I like the big tortoises, such as the Aldabra and the Sulcata. They’re like living tanks, or little dinosaurs.
The Yucatan box turtle is a fabulous looking turtle. Those beautiful eyes🥰 I would like more videos on the different Greek tortoises. I have a greek tortoise, she's healthy and wonderful but I can't seem to identify which subspecies of Greek she is.
Hey everyone!
We hope you enjoyed this outdoor tour of our place. Please check out our PATREON page and consider becoming a patron. We give these animals everything because they deserve it but it’s intense and every little bit of help counts! Thank you for even thinking about it. 🙏🏻

As always, thank you!

You guys are great 👍 thanks for your education and compassion for these beautiful animals.
February 2023 I decided I wanted a tortoise in my life. My husband was happy with this as long as I did my research and understood what this entails as it hopefully will outlive us and maybe even our son. The forums online can be contradictory and confusing. Your channel has been one of the most useful sources of information. Your passion for the creatures you look after is so obvious from the way you speak about them…. So we now have a Russian and an Eastern Hermann’s!!! 🐢❤🇬🇧
Wow thank you so so much!!!!
They ALL look so healthy and happy. It is clear that you are giving them everything they could possibly want to thrive.🖤🇨🇦
5:11 the lady who had this turtle took great care of her she’s huge
You and your wife are doing amazing work! Thank you for all you are doing to protect and educate.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Your pens and habitats are amazing. I love when you take us on a tour of your place.
I’m missing your Wednesday videos, I can only imagine how busy you are tho!
Me too! I keep expecting it.
I had no idea you guys had a full on outdoor enclosure that mimics a Florida swamp.
The level of love and detail you guys put into everything you do for these beautiful animals is truly remarkable.
Cheers from Saint Augustine Beach, FL
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Happy Labor Day weekend and thank you for all the labor you put into these amazing reptiles and sharing us!
My blood pressure went up 20 points watching you put your hands in the snapping turtle's habitat water. Tortoises are so special. I really enjoy their personalities, and everything about them.
Oooh, I almost missed this and that would have been sad. Great job as always, love how much you and your family love and take such excellent care of these tortoises and turtles. Thank you for taking us along, see you soon!
GST is my most favourite channel at all times and wish one day I've the privilege to vist your lovely garden ! 🤩
Thank you so much
Awesomeness!!! Happy Labor Day!!! Some of my current faves are Russians and Hermanns!!! Your property, types of turtles and tortoises and level of dedication is simply amazing!!!
Great tour, thank you for taking us along.
I am so grateful for all your hard work in preserving these gorgeous turtles and tortoises!!
For a turtle afficionado such as myself, this video is a glimpse of paradise. Thank you for this video.
Hopefully one day we can colab on something. I’d love to come see your place and film it to show how amazing your place is. I believe educational and inspiring videos are key specially inspiring the next generation of keepers is vital. I honestly love what you guys are doing and easily one of my favorite channels. Your conservation efforts are so important specially now I honestly wish more people were helping instead of taking species from the wild or exploiting them for views spreading false information. Just wish more people would help animals and see how important they are. Well keep up the great work I wish you and your family all the best and hope you all have a great day. 🙋♂️✌️
What a great tour! I'm really impressed with how well you've taken care of all those animals. Those enclosures are wonderful. And Chief Brody - what a difference! He looks great!
the sad thing about this video is that it ends😓❤❤
❤️ More to come!
Thanks for the tour, you sure know your stuff!
I have a large female peninsula cooter, an adult female reeves, adult female west African side neck, female pink belly side neck, male southern painted, 2 razorback musk, 3 elongateds and 3 redfoots along with other reptiles as well. Turtles/tortoises are my favorite 😍
So enjoyed this video. A lot of species to love. 🐢
I love all the colors and patterns their shells get. I love your natural pins.
This place is like my paradise! Unfortunately, my husband wouldn't agree 😕 😅
Thank you for sharing! It was extremely educational and so fun to discover all the animals you house!
Omg finally!! I was asking for this since the day I started watching you, hope to see the place in person one day! Also amazing content😊
Thank you for the comprehensive tour! I love tortoises and turtles!
Thank you so much for the great tour.
Thank you for watching
I think Garden State Tortoise is so wonderful. I'm glad you helping turtles and tortoises in our great state of New Jersey.
Happy Labor Day to you and family. Fabulous presentation! I took notes.
Thanks Tony!
My Russian Tortoise Ichabod and I love your channel and watch it together! You and your family are amazing.
What a cool yard. Great video and editing.
Yay Professor Brody is amazing. Love your little slice of heaven. Blessings.
Wow. Beautiful animals! All your hard work and affection really show. Great job!
The opening scene was hysterical! Robert Shaw would have been impressed by your acting!
Yes thank you! 🙌🏻
8:07 that slow motion laugh sounded as evil as that joke LOL 😂
Great video!
I would love to see another feeding tour.
That opening was hilarious!!!
🤣🤣
i enjoyed this tour and can’t wait to see more!
Such pretty creatures.
These videos are the highlight of my day!!
Thanks for the tour. How much property do you have to be able to house so many beautiful creatures? I never thought about there being so many different kinds. I find it so very interesting. 🐢
These vids are so professionally executed. Very informative. Best I’ve seen thus far in the YT reptile world. From multi-cam angle shots, to crouching down low to the tortoise’s level so the viewers get a glimpse of how these amazing creatures see the world, it really draws you in and amplifies the overall viewing experience in a very positive way. I’m seeing next level stuff here, bar none.
Love each and every one of them!!! Thank you so much for sharing
Can’t wait to watch the Galapagos turtles grow up!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Beauty! 🐢
I never knew one man could know so much about turtles. Quite impressive!
Love the tour of your slice of heaven.

Chief Brody...

Amazing - beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I was hoping I'd get a glimpse of your hingeback.. maybe on the next one? 😊
Wowwwww we just got our baby sulcata turtoise because my husband's been begging we get a turtoise 😆🥰 is been less then a month and im in love with her my daughter named her princess haha.... my husband and i are excited for the coming years with her 🐢🐢🥰
Wow, fantastic tour. Thanks.
Thank you for the amazing tour!! I’d like to request a tour of your non-turtle reptiles too😊
You got it Lori ❤️
We had a nearby, large pond in New Hampshire that we loved to swim in. My brother, a budding amateur herpetologist, warned us to stay away from the stands of reeds because that's where snapping turtles loved to hang out. Needless to say, he didn't have to tell us twice!
Thanks for the tour of the pens. We have a Yellow-footed tortoise. We love her to death. She is over 30 now we guess.
Wonderful tour! Thanks
Thanks for the tour
Very very cool! you have my dream job lol!!
your video quality is so great, amazing video once again
Love them all ❤
Awesomeness
glad that youtube recommend me your channel
Cool!!
Awesome
Stunning, beautiful place!
Mikki the Aldabra is my favorite. She is the prettiest to me. The next one, would be Dixie, the Sulcata. ❤❤❤🐢🐢
I love this video !!!!
This has helped me identify the species I came across a few months ago. It was an Eastern box turtle.
What great enclosures you have here
You got a bunch of tortoises and turtles
Happy turtles 😅
I wanna call garden state tortoise my home >.>
🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢❤️
Excellent video 😊
♥Brody
💪🏻🐢
That's badass!
I love your videos, but holy moly, how large is your property 😳😳😳😳🤯
They are cute.
It's hard to pick a favorite, but I am biased towards Russian Tortoises as those are the only species I currently keep and would love to see more Russian Tortoise content in the future!
Would pay to do a live tour - S. Jersey guy.
I have a question? What is the difference between turtles, tarapins and tortoises? You guys are such great educators. Thank you.❤❤
i love ur video its so coolll❤❤
Always love your posts I'd like to ask what were the cool fish at the end of the video that looked like some type of goby
Hello from Italy.
I remember your amazing Leucocephalon, what about them?
Thanks for the videos
Boys and girls. The turtles are green and they have sharper claws and the turtles are brown
🤩🤩🤩
Would like to see a keeled box turtle in ur collection
❤
i want to move in ong those torts have more space than me
Can you give an idea of how large these pens are with general dimensions? I hear a lot of how dangerous to cohab turtles and tortoises but I’m sure the normal pet keeper has much smaller pens than you do.
Love your videos and all the education you put out!!!! I just started a meal worm farm and chuncks my box turtle is loving them! My question is how many should I be feeding her?
😊
could you maybe make a video no the toad ranch tortoise table pls
Great video,but one request,MORE DBTs please 😁
DBT video coming but it’ll be of the wild babies we have hatching for release.
@@GardenStateTortoise that’s awesome I love seeing the conservation work you do
Man scuttle ma boi isn t here and those pancakes 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Those will be in the indoor tour 👍🏻
Awesome video and can you make a video about tortoises and turtles that brumate or is it necessary to brumate tortoises and turtles???
Thank you. We did make one, here it is: th-cam.com/video/WEcCwndm0U8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=byr2513pgnZfwsP7
@@GardenStateTortoisecan you make a DIY build of a cold frame or Russian tortoise habitat???
I never knew you guys had reeves I don't think you've ever showed them. How do they do where you are do the lay at all and im guessing they stay out year round but a lot of places say it to cold for them where you are but then also in their native range they go down into the low like in New jersey but there just not to much info on them so im curious because my country is warmer in the cold months but not in the summer. And almost every turtle species that we can get where I live in the country due to bio security is banned from like 6 available not including torts so that leaves 2 and the other can't live outdoors so reeves is what were left with which great as there my fav out of all any way
Was the red dragon turtles mom a Chinese box or was she wood turtle ?
When are we going to see the non-turtles of garden state tortoise
How long does an ornate box turtle or Florida box turtle live
