    Another great test - thanks.

    These line tests are super cool!! The fg knot breaking at 40lb I can live with, but the abrasion resistance really let that line down. Especially since I purchased that line for my Murray Cod setups, where abrasion resistance is kind of important😅.
    Just letting you know I eventually evolved from a Sh*tgoose to a Firebird, but I’m still stoked to see the old alias come up on the tv😂. Keep breaking those lines legend🫡

    Hello, im fostering through the Test Reviews but couldnt get to any conclusion. What would be the #1; #2; #3 pick from Ali express regarding a braided line for bfs fishing?

    I think abbrasion resistance is more important than fg knot.. and would be great to configure on the table own preference for example for some fishing I search for the roundness line with max abbrasion resistance,, other times just pure tensile strenght in, for example 0,16-0,18mm

    I've found that the only two brand of lines that maintain consistent tensile strength as it gets thicker and thicker are Berkley Pro Braid in white and Power Pro Maxcuatro. Consistent tensile strength up to 100 lbs actual breaking strength. Yozuri is the best value with tensile strength just below the other two mentioned brands but much cheaper. All other line just use cheaper material as it goes up in labeled strength. It cost the manufacturer way more in raw material to produce a 50 lbs line vs a 10 lbs so they end up using cheaper grade of spectra beyond the 50 lbs strength.
    Tensile strength and FG knot strength also tends to drop as you move up in line strength. Maxcuatro and Berkley Pro Braid seems to have the best FG knot strength for line whose actual breaking strength is greater than 50 lbs. PR knot people do not care because the PR knot is the great equalizer when it comes to the best knot breaking strength percentage NO MATTER which brand of line they use or what the real actual breaking strength is.

    Hey, can you do a review of the Sinister Strand braid from Golden State Fishing? Its reasonable price that and claims to be micro diameter and premium grade.

    Can you test it with relix knot? It is simple to make and greater result than fg. With larger flouro leader is above 100% strength. The original knot posted in youtube 4 years ago.

    @linelaboratory what PE3 (50 Pound) would you personally spool on an old (2010) saltiga 5000 to go for tuna and Amberjack? Thinnest real diameter would be essential to be able to cast all day long. Also knot resistance would be important, abrasion not so much

      We tested the Shimano Ocea in PE3 which broke at 51lbs so thats probably the closest match for what your looking for. Overall performance was pretty good. We released a video of the testing which you can find on our channel.

      I would say 30(ABS 50) or 40(ABS 60) lbs Maxcuatro. Thinnest 50 to 60 lbs line and excellent FG knot strength in case you need to cast thru the guides. PR knot is terrible for casting thru the guides.

    How is it 116.14% Of Claimed maximum break if it broke below the Claimed max of 66lbs?

    • @tobylester6476

      I think he just made a mistake/typo because 116.14 was also the diameter rating.

    • @thelinelaboratory

      Yes your right - a couple of typos on my part. Thanks for pointing that out. I have added a correction in the video description, in summary "Maximum rated strength was 60lbs, not 66lbs, and the percentage of Maximum Break achieved was 103.25% not 116.14%."
      There is a small inconsistency in my math by less than 1 percent which i will go back and fix.

      I am not sure i am trying to get it sorted. There were DNS changes done by my host and its killed the name resolution. I am trying to get it back up and running.

    👌🏿👍🏿🎣
    I know you haven't tested but what you think of same line in 30 lb
    Because I'm looking for a line that's breaks around 12 kg and around 0.2 mm dia so please suggest 🙏🏿

      Hard to say without testing it or using it, but generally any YGK braid is very close to what it says on the box so I'm sure you would have no problems with it.
