Do they regularly participate in a basic hygiene routine? Do they smoke indoors? Answers to those questions dictate whether my kids and I partake in it or not.
The easy way out in ANY situation? I don't think that is the case for Tony. If anything, he's put himself in between a rock and a hard place having that knife of his monogrammed. Just saying.

Just this school year Pottery Barn had some monogrammed backpacks they'd used as examples for like the catalog in their outlet store for $10 each ( these are $80 backpacks!) so I bought them and picked the monogramming out. In about 10-12 minutes I save $70.
Yankee here-this is why I started monogramming handkerchiefs for my grandpa. He doesn’t usually leave them lying around, but you never know. This year I’ve moved on to embroidering napkins for the whole family. It’s just so much fun!

When my daughter went to college this year I spent $250 just on monogramming all her stuff: Every towel, hand towel, washcloth, pillows, water filter pitcher, etc. My husband didn’t bat an eyelash - he was busy printing out monogrammed cover pages (using official college colors) for all her binders😂 Did have a mom- fail moment when we moved her into the dorm, and I realized I had forgotten to have the garbage can monogrammed.
I'm not southern at all therefore just got a labeling machine for $30 and very affordable refills of tape on Amazon an am labeling away... Mostly the stuff I use at work (mugs, water bottles, cutlery, pens...)

I met a girl in junior high, named after both grandmother's, and all of her names started with K. No monograms for her! She swore when she turned 18, she was changing Katherine to Catherine. Especially since they all had similar sizes and similar styles and sometimes they couldn't even remember themselves what was whose. So terrible. It wouldn't have been so bad if their memories were good and/or if their older stuff had been marked with all of their initials instead of just the shared ones. Shared initials/monograms isn't feasible when poor memory/attention span runs in the family.
