      My sony xa1 ultra phone shuts off at any percentage, did you have the same issue and how is it today? Have you ever replaced the battery and the phone functioned normally?

    Wow, what a pain. Glad I chose the XA Ultra with a flat back and much easier to "tear off." Sony's designs are great initially but painfully tough to bear when it's time to repair this phone. Sheesh, Sony.

    Companies need to stop sealing their phones. It's beyond ridiculous. Just another way to force people to take their phones in for battery replacement.

    I have a Sony Xa1 Ultra phone that does not charge. The charging board was replaced and it did not charge. The power plate was replaced without any use. Do you have advice? Thank you very much

    Opening back cover is almost impossible, why Sony makes these kind of phones .

      Sadly it is now an industrial trend, every F*cking gadget manufacturer desperately tries to copy apple without understanding what is the secret of their success, and so they also copy all the bullshit. I'm not a smartphone repair expert but i have done many successful screen, glass and battery replacements and holy shit - the newer the smartphone, the more clusterf*ck it is to disassemble without destroying it. Well i can kinda forgive waterproof and glass sandwich phones, i say "kinda" because while i like both these features i would trade them for an USER replaceable battery without any hesitation. Some claim it is to make the production cheaper, kinda weird statement if you ask me, you mean few screws or latching cover on a 200-1000 dollar smartphone? Some get into conspiracy theories, the evil companies want to make MOAR MUNEH and basically limit a smartphones usage to its battery lifespan, sounds like a legit argument but falls apart if you think about that the vast majority of phone users will replace their phones long before the battery fails anyway , and it is fair to say that lack of software updates may also render your phone unusable (or just unsafe) a lot quicker. And you may ask why do i bother? because i used custom ROMs for many years, i only recently replaced my galaxy note 2 with galaxy note 9, great hardware that survived 3 battery changes and is still operational today, a bit sluggish but usable. It was not so great from the software point, although i like the samsung's android i prefer something like LineageOS because of its high number of customization options, and lot longer updates. i guess you can understand how pissed i am when i find an used phone for a good price, with lot of os update options and i discover i have a great chance of destroying the phone when replacing battery that is probably at the end of its lifespan

    So i have the same phone and had a problem recently where at first I couldn't charge my phone so i got a new charger and it worked for a day then it kept disconnecting and reconnecting(charging) by itself without me touching it. Then afterwards, when it does charge, it stays at the same % for 8 hours so my question is, is it my charging port that needs to be replaced or my phone battery?

    • @EricWitrigs
      @EricWitrigs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can tear down the phone to see the charging port flex loose or not.

    I have this exact phone and one night I went to bad with my batter at 65% and woke up to find it dead. I plugged in the charger and it stayed at 1% for hours. When it finally charged I unplugged it and made a call and it died immediately

    this experia xa1 is nightmare. once it burnt during charging with powerbank. then changed new original battery and parts. then new original battery also last less than 2 years. need to keep changing battery. it's a money sucking phone because u need to keep replace the battery. the cost to replace at shop is not cheap
