    Excellent review, it makes complete sense with preserving your legs , I also think if you are naturally well built or heavier like me these shoes are fantastic whereas if you was ultra light maybe they’d feel too heavy , but what I love about these and version 1 is that they are real fun, I can run tempo all out or normally long steady runs they are very versatile imo, Aubrey keep up the great work this has to be the most in depth review I’ve seen 👍

    Great review Aubrey. I also watched Believe in the Run's review of this shoe beforehand, and I was surprised by how negatively they rated it. That is probably because they are fast/elite runners, as opposed to average runners like the majority of us. I appreciate your perspective as a fellow average runner.

    • @AubreyRunning

      With that said though I did agree with them in general. But their issues with the shoe do t really apply to me apart from the cost one. It’s a lot of money!!!

    Good and reasonable review. I have 2 pairs of Prime X (version 1 and the Strung) and love them both. The feeling of the midsole is an absolute Joy, no matter slow or fast pace.

    Another quality bit of content great to see this shoe reviewed from a normal persons perspective. I love the first iteration albeit unstable and bonkers to run in but it just has something about it that makes me want to wear it 😅
    I see alot of people just saying straight no to this shoe because of the weight but the Invincible 3 is 310g in my size 9 and people didn't like that at first either.
    Ive plenty of miles left on my V1 in any case for now but i can see a pair of V2 in the future 😅😅

    Was hoping you would review this beast! I had the OG version of the Prime X but had to sell them as they were just too unstable for me. Whenever I ran in them they caused my shin splints to really flare up so I had to sell them with less than 30 miles run in them 😫 I really like the look of the midsole design on the v2, looks far more stable without the giant chunks of midsole missing 😂 The weight is my really big issue with this shoe. I can still see myself buying them though and I can hear the missus moaning already 😂😂 Cracking review as ever geezer! 👍🏻

    Good review as ever. I got mine on Sunday but was in two minds whether to actually run in them. 402g in a UK 13.5 makes them my heaviest shoe in current usage and my 3rd heaviest ever - only behind some GTX trail shoes. I did manage to do my first run in them today - 8 miles. My biggest issue however was not the weight but the rather shallow toebox and it felt my right (especially) big toe was being crushed a bit but the length seems about right. Any issues for you there? Not had Strung before but so far rather underwhelming due to this issue. Otherwise (and that is a big concern) they were a bit better than I thought they might be - the ride does feel a little softer (but not silly soft) than the OG Prime X. They never did the first Strung one in my size BTW. Definitely more stable but without feeling was wearing a stability shoe. All said and done for £250 a bit underwhelming. With a big discount I have heard others getting more compelling. The weight isn't great but fortunately the foam does not make it feel as much of a brick as it feels when you pick it up. In fact it has "only" gone up 20g for me over the OG non Strung Prime X whereas I see 40g for you. Mind you a shoe at 320g for me for long training runs would be great. Oh and re Tesco - could get anything down from the top shelf in these :)

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very detailed feedback sir… I also read your post. It’s such a shame that you have struggles with the tie box but I find it the other way and see is very roomy. That’s the annoying thing about these shoes especially if you have a bigger shoe size, you will like have a much more different experience than most.
      This may sound like a cop out but honestly, I don’t feel the weight at all. On paper, it sounds like a brick but honestly, I feel great in it. So much so… that I’m actually considering running in it tomorrow for the Richmond RunFest 10K trying for sub-48

    • @TimGrose
      @TimGrose ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AubreyRunning yeah it is a bit odd with the toebox. Not helping already had a black toe on one of my right toes :) Will have to fiddle about some more. The weight is far from ideal but agree that they don't feel too bad although compared to the 270g Endorphin Elite I have also just got rather different on foot experience being 130g less! I did try running hard for about a half mile and certainly got going but felt the weight would be an issue deeper into a race when was getting tired. Anyway good luck tomorrow. Hope you like racing in very hot weather!

    I have version 1 and I love it. I would love it even more if it were more stable. Is there any improvement in the terms of stability in V2 versus the V1?
    Is the rear part of the shoe (heel) any wider than in V1?
    Or is it just the same?
    I think the stability issues are coming from the relatively (compared to the stack hight) narrow rear part of the shoe.
    Many thanks!

    The people who rate this negatively are those who weight 145 and below and are fast runners who do sub 3:30. This shoe is for the average runner who weigh 150 lbs and above with maybe a BMI of 25-26 and are 3:3o and above marathon runners. This shoe are for these majority of runners. If you weigh less than 150 lbs you won't be able to compress the spring that much, but it compresses if you are 150 lbs and above. .

    Personally I'm torn with these, the fit is a bit different and the midsole feels harder than usual but they ran well and are a lot more stable.
    I've a feeling the speed will come out once broken in, they'll take at least a good 3-4 decent runs before they soften up, as i have all three iterations so know the prime x very well.
    Will I love them, only time will tell but so far they feel decent.
    I'm not worried about speed, I have the mizuno wave rebellion pro for race day, these are my dailys where i need the cushion but something fun and fast to run in.
    I can comfortably maintain marathon efforts, so they're not as slow as you'd think.

      That’s a fair assessment and I also think the wave rebellion pro is a great shoe. I also think it will become more of its own once you break it in and get used to it but essentially, this gets a spotlight video from soon.

    Man Alphafly got fat and heavy
    and now this to? Darn it. I just want some light weight max cushion shoe and now both my favourites have morbid obesity.

      Fair enough, but honestly for what this is, I don’t mind the weight gain. Just the price is overweight 😂😂😂

    For me it is a massive disappointment. First I thought the shoe was not too good, now I think it is awful. I have the v1 and except for the stability, the v2 is a lot worse in the most meaningful aspect. The ride is basically bad, very weird brick-esque feeling, it is heavy, clunky, super stiff, not responsive. The upper may be better, the lockdown is definitely better, the tongue is also better. But the midsole and the ride is inexplicable, you just drag yourself in them fighting with the shoe. Fit is true to size, 45,3 EU | 10,5 UK | 11 US.
