@@Keeks492 you dont need apple to edit, i use my dads super fast pc for premire, and everything works out fine. you just need something with a lot of ram

Great video! I've condensed the video down below: 1. Quality is more important than quantity. Make things you enjoy instead of throwing out garbage nobody cares about. You will be burned out if you don't focus on projects you want. Good thumbnail + good content > uploading everyday 2. Focus more on audience retention. Look at where the audience leaves the video on the analytics, and look at where people are leaving (dips). Learn from that information. 3. Don't make your titles too specific. Don't have clickbait titles because nobody cares (preach). Title your video based on what the video is about. 4. Avoid doing what you think your viewers want to see. Do what you want to do. (Similar to point 1) 5. Don't make content without any intent. Know why you're making what you're making 6. Find a niche. Don't do general stuff. This also helps you film with intent (point 5) since you have a goal to accomplish. 7. Be genuine. Be you. Don't chase after views. Make sure your content reflects who you are. 8. Don't overthink equipment. Your smartphone's camera is probably sufficient. Don't buy expensive stuff you don't need 9. Don't fight TH-cam. TH-cam has certain content that they like to promote and you'll grow quicker if you play into this. Have a consistent format so TH-cam knows which audience to promote your content to ((personal note: this is probably my biggest struggle. All my videos are super short and concise so as to not waste the viewers time. But virtually all my videos are under 2 minutes long, so YT doesn't exactly like promoting my stuff)) 10. Don't compare yourself to others. Don't focus too much on analytics. 11. Don't immediately do collabs when you first meet them. Get to know them first. Make friends before collabs. 12. Audio and lighting is important. People will stay engaged if you have good audio and lighting. But don't buy new stuff you don't need, your smartphone is probably good enough (point 8) 13. Just focus on doing the best you can 14. Just start. The best time is yesterday, the 2nd best time is today. 15. Make searchable content. Vlogs aren't searchable. Talk about your searchable hobbies and people will find you. People won't care about your life if they don't know who you are 16. Learn from your mistakes. Don't fret too much, just improve. Everyone has made mistakes. Consistency and action will prevail. 17. Reach out to other content creators. Grow with other people!

You are so right about search based content. I got a big kick a few years ago because I did Speedgrade tutorials. Not much competition and easy to look for. I 100% agree that new channels should focus on that first.

I am a very small TH-camr i already make tons of mistakes and i thank you for these it made me wake up of the reality, I am still practicing specially the quality of my videos. now I have a goal i start posting everyday and just go out there and inspire people because that is what i am passionate about.
All valid points. Definitely most of them I've been experiencing and figuring out as I wade in the platform. The only thing about Sara's comment is I think TH-cam pushes you if you do have consistency so there's a delicate balance between quality vs. quantity.
I'm STILL learning even after starting doing youtube back in 09, but Then I wasn't sure what I wanted to Do but it was fun making videos just in general and learning how to upload and editing and Yeah Not gonna Lie my mistake is always feeling that I needed to post EVERY other week and if I didn't, I felt like I wasn't putting it out...just like Sara Dietschy was doing when she just started. Now I'm learning..

It's interesting that TH-cam has this reputation as a vlogging platform. What has actually inspired me are the great storytellers and teachers on here. I noticed that it's the well scripted, focused pieces that really grab my attention, I don't care about fancy editing, camerawork or the best equipment - the most important thing is that it doesn't get in the way of the content, sure there are techniques to that - that's why I'm watching this - but the viewer shouldn't be aware of it.
