    I think husbands of pregnant wives carry these incidents like medals, I can just hear them relating the stories to their mates as a badge of honour.
    There might be many men out there feeling really short changed because tjeir wives didn't have strange cravings at 3am 🤣
    Mine were chocolate milk, twin poles and watermelon. You tried getting watermelon in Australia in Winter?

    My husband still laughs at me because when I was pregnant with our son I cried for an hour during the episode of Spongebob where Gary only wanted Patrick. I remember when my mom was pregnant with my little brother she held her hand out covered in cheeto dust sobbing like someone was dying. She hates cheetos but absolutely needed them.🤣 I made fun of her until I dropped my favorite kind of cookie on the floor and couldn't bend over to pick it up and ugly sob because it was dirty.

      My mom got pregnant when I was 17. She cried during a marching band competition over my friend's solo. Didn't cry over mine lol, just my friend's. Luckily she had me around for when she dropped things. It got to the point she would just tap her foot and I would pick up whatever it was. Didn't even have to talk. That continued for years after my brother was born. I eventually stopped one day and asked why we were still doing that. Became habit I guess. I love that memory though. We would walk on the beach and she would tap which shells she wanted.

    My first pregnancy was a carnivorous frenzy, I was a vegetarian before, then suddenly I craved raw liver and was found crying in front of a butcher’s window. Preggos shouldn’t eat liver as it’s too high in vitamin A. My third pregnancy was peanuts, in all their wonderful configurations! Again, I wasn’t allowed peanuts either. So many weird things happening to us during pregnancy, so as women, it’s our duty that the dudes have got to be in on the fun! 😝🤣 Also, mush brain lasts way longer than pregnancy...then as the kids get older...staring down the barrel of freedom, the menopause starts on its merry way and you’re thinking, no more periods, awesomeness!!! But no, you’re almost positive that you’ve got early onset dementia, everything hurts and why is it so damn hot again! The female body is a gift that just keeps giving! 🤷‍♀️

    • @mysterioussatyr1507
      @mysterioussatyr1507 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevetaylor9846At other times those wives can duck themselves but any self-respecting man should take the situation into consideration and conduct themselves accordingly when the wife(be it a failure of one) is at her most vulnerable. This must be followed for the sake of one's honor(don't mean to sound poetic).

    • @stevetaylor9846
      @stevetaylor9846 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mysterious Satyr1 : No. I fully appreciate your views. But I am fully aware that pregnant women milk the situation to their advantage to the 'n'th degree.
      I don't believe that any woman (in the western world, at least) should decide to fall pregnant without being fully aware that her hormones might cause her to act irrationally. But, to quote one example as shown in the vid, to force or expect her husband to comply with driving in a blizzard to satisfy what is no more than a momentary craving, not a necessity, is extremely selfish. Had he suffered a fatal crash, what then?
      If people can successfully overcome a similar craving for food, alcohol, tobacco, narcotics or whatever, than an expectant mother should be able to do likewise. She won't, and her unborn child certainly won't, come to any harm by foregoing her jar of pickles for one night. If they are that necessary she could remember to buy them at the shop herself earlier in the day. Not rocket science.
      They rely solely upon the fact that partners care sufficiently for the woman carrying their child to go above and beyond their marital duty.
      I must be honest and say that, at no time, did either of my wives behave so selfishly, and, after all, that's what it is, when collectively carrying three children. (Not polygamous wives I hasten to add).
      Next time I have man-flu I fully expect my wife to go the extra mile to meet my cravings although I haven't told her this and don't you tell her. Let it be a pleasant surprise. LOL.

      I couldn't deal with meat while pregnant. The smell of it cooking. The texture of meat in my mouth. And I don't like eggs and beans. I had a lot of issues with low iron and not enough protein. I ended up with PICA, the body starts craving non-edible items high in the minerals your body needs. I craved copper, dirt, rocks. It was really sad. Craving things you can't actually eat. I cried a bit. There weren't enough iron supplements in the world to get me to stop staring at the copper pipes.
      And yeah, I never got with this ice cream and pickles program. Nor could I send my husband to the store to help me. I spent most of my pregnancy losing weight and then with a nutritionist, I just barely managed to put on fifteen pounds. NO FAIR!!!!

    My mom got pregnant when I was 17. We went out for lunch a lot and one day I had to go to five places because my mom couldn't decide whether she wanted pancakes, pizza, soup, a sub, grilled cheese, ice cream, or a pickle- but only if it was a good pickle. A diner won. She got her pickle. She also asked me one day for a grilled ham and Swiss on rye. She wanted it to taste like it came from a diner, but she wanted me to make it. Only enough left for one sandwich and I almost burnt it. Close call. Another time she called me during school crying hysterically because she couldn't find the peanut butter. I thought she was in labor. It was on the shelf in front of her. My friend would complain about having a mom in menopause.... he would say I didn't understand the mood swings 😒 try having a mom who was going into menopause, but got pregnant... and somehow didn't know for 5 months. At least we finally figured out why that stomach flu wouldn't go away. The day we found out my mom called my dad screaming at him for not going to the beach with her. Then she called back crying about being alone and because she loved him. Then back to yelling. She called a total of 5 times. Then she passed out and had to go to the hospital... that was a fun day. Turns out the baby was dehydrated. That was a real shock for my dad. He dropped her off and by the time he came back he was sent up to the maternity ward. Oops lol

    I've only been pregnant once, I was a single mother in the military and overseas. The only male person taking care of me was my supervisor, he walked me to the chow hall at lunch everyday and would not let me leave the table until I had drunk the 8 glasses of milk he put in front of me. The guys I worked with were taking bets on what the baby would look like, a cup of coffee or a glazed donut. The only craving I had was for root beer lifesavers, in 1982 root beer lifesavers were NOT available in Sicily, I had to wait 8 months after he was born to get some when we got back to the States.

    My wife and I are saddened by the abject sarcasm in many of these responses, No wonder our divorce rate is so high. I am a retired first-responder with birthing (mid-wife) training and certification. She insisted I be the physician's assistant. She went into cardiac arrest while delivering our second child. I credit her survival and our beautiful daughter to her grace and courage. That little girl graduated last year and has started a most prosperous career. My wife, sitting next to me right now, says she lived and the child is healthy only because of my strength. In our minds, you who feel you must put down your spouses are DOA. We are certain you think you are funny. Your words indicate the contents of your heart.

    When I was pregnant with my first, I was on bed rest and gained _a lot_ off weight. even sitting, my balance was crap, and one my little sister’s favorite things to do at that time was gently push my shoulder (I was always in bed of course), so I’d tip backwards. I’d then get stuck, and she’d crack up as a rolled around to finally get enough leverage and the right position to sit back up.
    Her comment was always the same, always said while cracking up or after... “YOU LOOK LIKE A TURTLE GETTING OFF ITS BACK!”
    Hardy har har. Jerk.
    Once she made the mistake of doing it while I had a bowl of popcorn. She had to make and “fix” (more butter & salt) 3 more bags (she didn’t get it right at first), get me new pjs, a new blanket, and I demanded 2 more pillows just cuz.
    She did _not_ stop tipping me over lol; she was just careful not to do it when food was within 10 feet.

      I only gained 34 pounds, but that's not because I was doing anything special. It was because I vomited literally everything I ate that wasn't spaghetti. And sometimes that, too. I was never coddled. But that had nothing to do with my weight gain.

      Well, I've had two pregnancies, the first one, I went from 210 to 255, and with my second, I went from 255, to 189. My oldest son was born healthy at 6 pounds and 7 ounces and a head full of hair. My youngest son was 3 pounds and 4 ounces and was sickly with a hole in his heart. I ate properly both times, took my vitamins, and did everything the same. Except for the 3 months that I broke out in, not hives, but literal spots from head to toe with my youngest son. I stayed sick for the entire pregnancy. Now, my 5 year old son is almost 4 foot tall and slim and my two year old son is a foot shorter and walks like a football player. He's just as healthy and happy now as any other 2 year old and his brother is happy and healthy too. I was on my own for both pregnancies as far as having to buy my own shit, didn't get coddled, and I enjoyed every single minute of pregnancy. Btw, now, I weigh 230 and I've started eating pickles with bbq sauce for the last few years now. Not related to pregnancy, I just learned I like the taste. Lol
