Our first attempt at the Grand Prix Special | OT Vlog

- Here is day two of Keysoe Premier League where we tried the special. We scored 65.5% :)
I was pleased with lots in this test and really tried to put a little more power in. There are still moments of tension and I would love to work on having him softer in the Piaffe and coming out of the passage. We are definitely getting this at home just now to find it in the test. As I gain the confidence I think I will find this :)
I wanted to keep the whole test in to show you the journey so please be kind with the mistakes as I am trying my hardest.

There are people who never get more than around 66% for their Grand Prix and so to get 65.5% on your very first attempt at the Grand Prix Special is epic!!! So proud of you. You were brave and went for it. You knew that there was a possibility that it could go pear shaped and you were cool with that. So proud of you.
It was a pity that your mother didn't feel well.
Edited to add that it's my understanding that Charlotte Dujardin had an error of course at the Olympics.
I think you totally nailed it, in regard to the spirit of the test. Getting 65.5% on your first run-through of the GP Special, with error deductions, is amazing. You have your whole life to perfect your art. Good for you. Amazing.
I have been watching your journey with Sausage for years and years however haven't watched a video for over a year! And can I just say... WOW! You and Sausage made those tempis look like a piece of cake! And not to mention how that passage has developed holy moly! And the quality of each pace is just WOW WOW WOW! I cannot believe how much you two have progressed as a team it's insane. When I last watched a video of yours you were struggling with changes, passage and pirouettes but looking at this now you look like a completely different duo! Such an inspiration of mine. Keep kicking those goals you got this!!
Oh Olivia it is so lovely to see you happy and yes you are getting there and it’s amazing to watch and follow your journey. Honest to god that horse looks like he his trying his heart out for you. Well done lovely.xx
I think Wilf looked like he was really enjoying himself. Like he really wants to do well for you because after all he is the sweetest boy.
Sod any errors, I am sat here watching this 10 months late and absolutely balling my eyes out in pride for someone I haven't even met! You've both come so far and it's incredible to see Wilf in his element and looking so well. I hope you felt so proud after this.
So happy for you and Sausage. Have been watching for a while and his piaffe and passage have come so far. I remember when he was struggling with flying changes. Now on the ones he’s like “NBD, mummy.”
Just an amateur rider but……. I have followed your channel for a few years now, and I felt compelled to say I am so impressed with your achievement in the special. In my opinion you have both grown, after the Grand Prix I seriously doubted that you would attempt the special, I was willing you to have a go even just for the experience despite the huge pressure of potentially humiliating yourself against your more experienced compatriots…you aced it! In the nicest possible way your mindset has frustrated me in the past but your attitude to this test has made me quite proud of you, keep it up
been watching you for years, seeing this vlog gave me goosebumps, you both have come so far!

Both you and Sausage did very well. Sausage was so calm and responsive. Beautiful canter and great improvement in passage piaffe and pirouettes. Happy for both of you!!

an all around good first special i think! Some really lovely moments in the piaffe, cant wait for you guys to get more comfortable with the tests and start adding in more expression and some spice haha :D You got this!

Bravo for riding your first GP Special. He certainly tries very hard for you. I think anyone would be happy with that score at that level. If the scores are to improve I would say he needs to have more carry power behind. He struggles with carrying and wants to push out behind losing the thoroughness and scope to get the bigger scores. Perhaps he needs more strength. Good job.

This is a beautiful test! Are the Grand Prix test in the UK and the ones in the United States the same? Are they both ruled by FEI?
