on a more serious note. I've been following your modeling journey and you have been very inspiring and courageous Iyan. I keep feeling a deep feeling of connection as I've gone through a similar emotional journey trying to find my place in a field and industry that I love, although I am older than you I can relate and find strength in seeing your journey. Art and illustration was my passion and outlet since I was young, I convinced myself I would bust ass and get into a prestigious art school and blow up from there. 2 years in I got a huge reality check... life is hard and perhaps my dream won't be as clear cut as I had imagined. I was prepared for sleepless nights and harsh critiques, but what I wasn't ready for was juggling that along with the reality of being all alone in a new city with no support or connections and very little money. I became disillusioned and bitter about my school, my peers, and the industry as a whole. In the end, I had to leave due to mental health-related issues and being unable to keep paying tuition. I felt that what was happening to me was unfair and that the people I went to school with had it easy as a huge percentage of them came from wealth or had more formal training than I did. It was disheartening and my world became dark. Other financial struggles kept emerging and I was forced to work and sustain myself and I further began to hate my life. I was always too tired and creatively exhausted to draw in my free time. I began to feel like an imposter. But now that a few years have passed I have found love and a new perspective on life. I realized that my road to working as an artist professionally might not be as simple as 18-year-old me assumed, but that is a beautiful thing. Creative industries are unique and as Aidan's email said, all it takes is saying yes at the right time. I've accepted that the road will be winding at times but the hope has been reignited. In a few months, I will be flying home and restarting my life where I began with my new outlook and passion. I'm slowly finding myself creatively again and drawing in hopes of scoring a tattoo apprenticeship at some point. this is amazing !! i have a small passion for modeling and i absoulutely love how u can chase your dreams. i actually wish i can do the same.. its just how strict my parents are and they dont even knw that i like modeling. even if i tried to say it, they probably wouldn't agree because they think hip dips are ugly and that their not fit for a model. yea.. that's why your vids are so inspirational to me !` i honestly adore your love for modeling and i hope that i can do it too‼💙💙🤞🏻🫶🏻
