So, you have a death grip on the bow and your release is set so you punch every shot.where and who set you up or showed you anything about shooting? They have seriously done you no favors. There are literally dozens of videos on way better techniques that will give you so much better results. John Dudley’s Nockon archery, Tim Conner- using a tigger release, “ bow only outdoors “ has some excellent videos on release setup and use plus you can see their techniques in many of THIER vids. Man, I’m serious about helping you before you get target panic. Punching triggers leads to what is called “ drive by “ punching. You will start to time the pin movement towards the target spot and then punch as the pin gets nearly there. Works at like 20 yards but not at 30-40 etc. Then you will get scared you’re going to miss the target altogether and just start hammering away on that trigger. Triggers are good tools but you have to learn to be in control. There is ways to set it up for excellent results but punching isn’t it. Bow only outdoors has a great vid on this. I WAS A PUNCHER years ago and learned better from an old archer. I am in CONTROL of my shot sequence. GOOD LUCK to you.🔥🔥
Absolutely no one. I’m a fairly new archery hunter, and still working on being more consistent. But I’ll do some research as I’m not sure what you’re referring to as “punching”. I am confident at 40 but there’s always room for improvement. Appreciate the advice!
@ look up “ USAarchety” and watch world class archers and their techniques. Or “ competition archery media” has great vids on 3-d archery events. The best 3-d archery shooters in the world. See how they draw, aim, execute etc. Every move from foot position to the shot is 100% in their control. Those people can hit a quarter at 55 yards a lot or hit within a 4” circle nearly every single time. It’s about you are in charge of the bow. If you need to lower the draw weight for awhile so you aren’t in a bind so you can hold longer easier, do it. There’s so many little things it’s crazy. But with serious work and commitment it will all come together. Like any sport it takes continuous practice to know you are in control. I’ve been into archery for over a half century and still learn and work at it almost every day.

@ well, you’re slapping the trigger with your finger tip. It’s not a consistent method. It’s so easy to punch it.
