But I don’t understand the need for GTE ( genuine temporary entrant ) because the link between STUDY , and PR is completely closed which used to be there 15 years ago . Now the PR is so tight that even after spending 7-10 years in Australia there is no guarantee that one would get PR or not . Their immigration policy keeps on changing quite frequently as per their labor market so the chances to get PR are so less . Now as the “ chapter “ of PR after completion of study is almost closed then what so called “ genuiness “ of the student they want to check . Because anyhow after completion of the degree 📜 one won’t get a PR as the link between study and PR has been closed . So even if one does have intention to migrate .. that shouldn’t matter because one cannot get PR after completion of study in Australia . So what’s the point of GTE ( genuine temporary entrant ) . Had there Been a link between study and PR then I can understand the need for GTE . Now when the chapter of PR is closed what genuineness they are trying to assess from the GTE interview ….
