Unfortunately, I am a little long in the tooth and my festival days are long behind me. I went to a couple of the early Downloads, after it changed from Monsters of Rock (Yes I am that old), but haven't been back for a long time. Which isn't what the younger me would have wanted in life, but hey ho. I still miss it a great deal though. It used to be my old annual holiday,
One funny story I can recollect was in the early 90's involving the airplanes was when Aerosmith were just finishing off their set and saying goodbyes to applause, (I can't remember if they had finished or were just going off first before the encores). But they were waving to the crowd, saying their thank yous... etc etc etc. Just as Concorde roared into life above our heads and screamed it's way across the crowd. Everyone in the crowd stopped applauding and cheering and just stared to the sky in awe.
I looked at my friend.... "Concorde 1, Aerosmith 0." :D
I can't imagine Steve Tyler is lost for words much, but that would have been amazing to see!
Bro you haven't missed anything it more or less ended in the mid 90s you got the best years, I went in 98 and I would honestly say the bottom had dropped out by then.
Will say last year I went to download I got the Ann summers baby wipes (they are expensive but hella worth the cost) they come individually wrapped so you can keep 5 or 6 in your bag and take one out every time you go to the loo.

Great, informative video! The thing you said about West Car Park being only for certain camp sites... I cant seem to find that information anywhere? We're in Eco Camp so would ideally like to park in West 😅
From what we've been told, all general camping must go to North car park. There's an email been posted somewhere that says one of the staff has said that West will be available, but the team have been giving mixed messages in their responses on other topics. The official information we've had it that West will be for Guest, Motorbike, and Quiet camp only.
If you're in eco, it shouldn't be too far of a walk from North car park anyway, it's pretty much halfway between 😊

I've just looked at my car park pass which says to follow the signs for general/eco and quiet camping which I'd presume would be west. Who knows , I guess we'll find out! 😂 🤷♂️
Unsure if it was specific to Download last year with Metallica playing the Thursday, but it took me 7 hours to drive from Sheffield. Assuming this isnt the norm

There are usually queues to get in, but nothing like what happened last year. By the sounds of it, this new system is designed to get rid of all of those problems
You will be allowed to take in an unopened 500ml soft drink and food as long as it is not in excess I.e. not a full on picnic 😂
Could you do a video on the different acts and dj things in the village/district maybe? Just an idea 😊
We're hoping to go over all of the set times if they drop early enough. If they release them too close to the festival we might not have time unfortunately

My son and his friends are camping in the red vip area, will drop them off Thursday afternoon. Any idea if i can I drop them off at the black gate? Or will I need to go to the transport area?
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped 😊 I think you'd still need to go to the transport hub near the North gate. With it being VIP, they might let you pull in, so maybe head to black gate and ask a steward first. The worst they can say is no, and at that time there shouldn't be too much traffic so getting round to north car park should be easy if you get turned away.

Super helpful! We are not only popping our download cherry but also this is our first festival 😅 We are probably overthinking, but we have a 3 day camping plus ticket and worried that when we arrive there will not be space to set up, ever come across this issue?
If you're in Camping Plus, space shouldn't be an issue. They allocate the space for that area of the site based on how many tickets they've sold for it, so they'll have made sure there's enough room for everyone.

Pick Pockets - Not a subject people want to talk about, and for the most part download festival goers are the best there is, but unfortunately, pick pockets do target the festival. I had my phone stolen in 2022, as did many others. Make sure you don't put your phones in your jeans pockets. Have a bum bag or shoulder bag and always put your valuables in it every time you're not using them.
Definitely, great advice. I always have my phone in a bag over my shoulder, so if someone wants to steal something, they've got to literally take it from under my nose. It's a shame that people have to worry about things like that, but you can't be too careful
Quick question. I've got quiet camping tickets, but I'm not parking and am being dropped off. Is there a drop off point near to quiet or will I need to brave the 2mile walk 😂
Unfortunately the only place to get dropped off is the transport hub in north car park, which means walking all that way across. If it's any consolation, we're having to do the same trip so we can camp in blue 😅
What happens if you don't have a drink and a plain goes by?

Thank you for this! So helpful, This is my first time going to Download and going for the Day on Sunday. I have a quick question (open to everyone) I have a dietary requirement (I have coeliac disease) but cannot get a note from my GP as they say it comes at a cost. How can i prove i have to take food in with me, due to risk of cross contamination? If i cannot; is there any vendors people recommend that provide Gluten Free food? Thank you so much and hope everyone thats going has a fantastic hell of a time 🤘🤘🤘
If you download (hehe) the app, there should be a full list of food vendors with what is suitable for different dietary needs. If you email the support team before the festival and explain, they might be able to help you with taking stuff in. Glad it was useful for you, have a great time 😊

Have they closed off the entrance from the race track into purple?
That will make getting to the arena a pain
There might be a cut through walk way, because there are separate sites inside the track, but this isn't a guarantee looking at the map
At the refresh retreat is the gold £70 one a charge for the whole weekend?
Yeah when you go the first time, you should be given a wristband you can just show each time you go back

Once you’ve got your wristband, you can do as many trips out and back as you need to
General can use west carpark just seen the post
Yeah i really wish people would stop saying that we can't. There is a bot of confusion as the marshalls have been told to divert people to the least busy entrance. But if you get to west early enough anyone can park there.
The email that was sent hasn't been confirmed by the official Download team. Other people who had made queries and had feedback from that support team have had wrong answers, including someone saying that spirits must be in their original container, which contradicts the no glass rule. Until it comes from Download on an official channel, the latest we've heard from them is that it's North only for general campers
@@RyanFish1 am quiet camping and I don't believe for one minute that they will send people around the site and possibly cause congestion.
I am going by coach but staying r.i.p will I be able to get my r.i.p wristband at the North entrance
You should be able to because the drop off point is for everyone. It'll be a bit of a walk for you though unfortunately

Like it or not, Busted are going to be packed.
I couldn't imagine wasting my time going to see a band I don't like just to boo, there's 3 other stages plus, village food, drink, and camp site. Much better ways to spend some time
We saw Busted last year and they killed it. They're heavier live than people might think, and anyone lucky enough to be in that tent is in for a treat!
