As the person who got crushed even worse than you (I'm Lethargic Socket on BGA 👋🏻) I'm both mortified and delighted that someone I just played tonight recognized me from having watched this!
Appreciate more strategy content. I've been mostly learning from watching BGA replays of top players. From this board and what P1 did, I think your 1st move should have been to get the Arrow. The reason for this is you drew 2 Exploration as P2 so that means you can explore. Additionally, one of the reward for exploring is another compass so that basically guarantees a T1 assistant for you since you'll have 1 compass, 1 Arrow, idol, and whatever the new site is. You will likely be able to get the Airdrop still since P1 will explore as his 2nd move because you're threatening to take the 2 gold assistant if he doesn't. P3 is likely to go to Ruby as his 1st move with the same reasoning you did to block the Arrow player from getting a T1 assistant. That means going to Arrow as the 1st move still let you get the Airdrop before anyone else.
you had an opportunity being second one to the temple to get an extra 11 points, that would have given you at least five more points then the artifacts that you purchased.
+1 enjoy this content. Re: the opening: 2coin assistant is the highest value showing, so you have to give yourself a chance to get it, which means arrow first move, then ruby if it wheels (unlikely) or explore a compass site move 2. Red Seat 1 goes 2compass into explore, which means they need a good flip to get two advances. They hit it, so there's nothing we can do. Agree with others that Airdrop isn't the open, especially knowing that Binoculars is removed from the top tier cards you might pick up in R2. It also prevents you from potentially picking up some better items that flip this round, and it flips one more card for them.
@@phoenicksgaming 1st move is almost always arrow here, and esp with only 1 fear in hand I'm defaulting to explore a compass site if possible. Maybe 2 coins if the card row is great.
Yeah, but do you think my opponent then takes the Ruby? Then I have a similarly lackluster open turn and don't have the Air Drop? Maybe I overvalued that card.
@@phoenicksgaming Yeah the only things ill agressively buy before placing workers round 1 is the dog, pickaxe (on bird side) and maybe airplane. With higher elo players and the 2 gold assistant on the field the great items are going to get snapped up potentially before you can take advantage with the air drop
Love this type of content! Would love to see it become a regular part of your channel.
Given all the positive feedback it certainly will!
I really enjoyed this, definitely a thumbs up for the format :)
Cheers jonathan!

Would you do this open regardless or mostly because of the 2 coin assistant?

Love this! I think passing up on the arrowhead for your first turn may have been a key turn.

Can you do a great western trail bga playthrough?
I did record one but it was a blowout - i will try again for a good game!
Hey, which plataform are you using to play?
I played the game for first time recently and I am really aeger to play again.
Boardgamearena.com it's the best!
I still don’t understand when the round ends
Can someone please tell me how can I know whenever the round end
When everyone has passed- take as many turns until you're out of gas!
Interesting session choice because no one ever wants to root against R2-D2.
You're in for a pleasant ending
@@phoenicksgaming Who knew R2-D2 would be good at analyzing and calculating?
