I just watched Sandy in an episode of Naked City, from 1962. That's a great TV show, from way back. The episode was: Idylls of a Running Back. She's in her early 20's in that episode, just a wisp of a beautiful, young woman. Watch it, and she will break your heart. She is so touching in it.

I couldn't agree more. I probably will get jeers for this comparison, however...please hear me out. I compare Sandy with Audrey Hepburn. Like Audrey, Sandy had a doe-like, porcelain beauty, soft voice, and a fragility, vulnerability, and gentleness. I can cite the original Sabrina, and Sweet November. Both films make me want to hold and protect the lead lady character, for reasons I gave, above.

I'm not sure why, but that was a perfect song to go with a tribute to such a great woman. How can ovarian cancer happen to such a gorgeous woman?!

This is a loving, gorgeous tribute to our Sandy Dennis. I loved her. I tracked her down at HB studios in NYC. I was already retired frim show business at 30 but I just wanted to be near her. I studied under her direction. It was a year to remember, I was in LA when she passed away from ovarian cancer at age 54. I asked her once if she ever thought abiut her mortality. She said, "Only my immortality, darling. We all laughed because her brilliant way she communicated. SUPRENE INTELLUGENCE. Maybe Meryl Streep is in Sandy's league as far as intuitive genius is concerned. It is impossible not to fall in love with Miss Dennis.

She was not of this earth. We were lucky to be graced with her time here. What a nice retro of her work. I first "met" Sandy watching Who's Afraid? as a dumb teen.

I always watched any film with Sandy Dennis in it, because I always loved her acting and supported her characters. She was amazing! This combo with a great song is like a perfect resumé of her brief career. RIP.

Just saw "Out of Towners" (1970) for the first time and found her wonderful, so looked up her name and found this lovely tribute. Sad that she passed away so young.

Dear Hepburned, I can't thank enough for this. What a gorgeous angel she was. She was alive with Bella Abzug and Betty Friedan. And she was FREE-ER. Let the ladies choose which way they want to go.

A terrific actress who is often overlooked these days and largely unknown to the last generation or two. I was lucky enough to come across her in The Four Seasons and she's never disappointed since. An actress whose resume is definitely worth your time.

Great choice of soundtrack - one of the all time pure pop classics IMHO. I remember seeing the band on their first TV interview being asked about their name as few people outside Liverpool are familiar with the term. They said they chose it because people would mistakenly call them ‘The L.A’s which is hilarious! I’m sure Sandy Denis would have approved. 🥰

Very nice. I knew her Niece and painted a painting for her of her Aunt Sandy. How ironic the end of this video, much like the picture I painted from. She was a very eccentric beautiful woman.

So far, I've only seen her in three films: "Splendor in the Grass" (1961), "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), and "The Fox" (1967). I really need to see more of her films. I can't get enough of this video. She had such a unique look. Her face and her look represented the 1960s and 1970s American cinema when we started to see more actors start to look less glamorous and glossy and more like everyday people. If she made it to 80, I wonder what roles she would be tackling today.

My Sandy Dennis "holy grail" performances are two TV productions: "A Hatful of Rain" from 1967, and "Wilson's Reward" from 1980. I can't find them anywhere.

Woody Allen was sharp enough to give Sandy Dennis a perfect role in his superior film Another Woman. It was her last high quality role. Her talent was wasted so many times it is infuriating.

Sandy also preferred the stage to film work, which is a shame for us movie fans. She deserved at least a dozen more movies.
