OMG, thank you so much for this. I drove these end of the seventys begining of the eightys, and I can tell you, it was the best vehicle I have ever driven. I don´t know where you found this material but, thanks, it brought back a lot of fun, and nearly forgotten, memories 🙂

What an absolute alpha unit of military vehicle! I have always loved this truck, right from my first toy BP Exploration Matchbox (I think, it was 50+ years ago!) This thing really fired my imagination even at that early age, it was almost sci-fi in its appearance.
It has been a life-long ambition to drive one, even if its only for a few minutes!

2 Sqn. RCT had these in Nienburg 70's & 80's. Great fun, engine noise was lovely. They could climb a wall! Top British engineering, great days!

They need to make these again. Updated versions would be so good. Amazing off road ability's.

@@peterfeeney721 Upgrade, Not change. Renew. Fresh . Add a bit of modern to the old to improve it.

It would be heavy on the tyres but one of those with a Hyab and outriggers - would give a Unimog a run for the money.

    That brought back some memories.
The Mkii also got the rear exit for the bilge pump, in addition to a cross flow radiator for the engine. The differential was a Detroit locker, (called a no-spin diff by Alvis).

Actually the closest was the Rocket carrying vehicles they used on earth in the Shadow UFO series a mixture of live actors and model animation..
The girls who worked for shadow all wore platinum blond or purple hair and white uniforms ...
Love the Stolly really needs revisiting in six and eight wheel forms possibly with hybrid electric wheel drive.. to avoid the destructive diff windup on roads.
