Bro im still waiting on your reaction to "Stand up and Scream“ by Asking Alexandria 😭 I‘m 100000% sure you’ll like their sound from back then. Love bro
All of this is a journey of acquiring a taste that will lead you to things you will rarely find anywhere else in music. I was 11 years old when I first heard crazy shit like this, and while 50% of it are incomprehensible screams and gnarly lyrics, the other 50% are catchy as fuck riffs, breakdowns and vocal expressions unique to this genre. That is what kept me coming back, and after some time, I grew accustomed to the screams to the point that I started understanding what they say by default, but even more so, I stopped listening to them for the words, and started thinking about them like another instrument in the song. That's really when a whole new world unlocks. You can use it for entertainment, as therapy, as an energy booster, motivation or inspiration... Mainstream music has its place, but for me it never managed to provide what I found in metal. Such a diverse and powerful genre with a great community. 17 years later, here I am, still listening to old gems like this. Kudos to you for keeping an open mind. P.S. If I may suggest some absolutely goated albums that are a bit easier to listen to: ERRA - Augment Born of Osiris - The Discovery Parkway Drive - Deep Blue Northlane - Singularity
this album always throws me back. Friend and I would always skip school when we were 16 and drive around from party to party in his Durango in Houston until 4 am smoking at each party and in between places we'd just blast this album non stop. I definitely don't listen to it anymore, but occasionally it plays on a radio and I'll get nostalgic for a minute lol.
I was in middle school when I first heard Pray For Plagues in 2006 and they’ve been my favorite band ever since. I seen them four times and I got to meet singer Oli and the bassist Matt “Vegan” Kean when I was 13 at one of their shows 🤘🏻
Only listened to the breakdowns for years. Then I bought the physical copy and had to admit how good the arrangements and sound engineering was. I never catched that before. It took deep steps into the subculture. I really appreciate the efforts covering these album reviews
There's an album that just came out by the band Beartooth (The Surface) that I think you would enjoy a lot. Seems to have everything you've enjoyed about BMTH
Been a pleasure watching your reactions bro, you’ve got a true open mind and that’s extremely rare to see. Especially considering this genre is difficult for many. If you hated it, I wouldn’t have blamed you. You are correct though, Olí definitely fucked his throat many times over during the release and the touring after for the album. This was a time where he wasn’t doing it safely and correctly. There is a way you can perform these harsh vocals without damage but it takes years of training and tremendous breathe control. Which as you have witnessed in his most recent albums, he has mastered now. This does not take away how unbelievably vital this album was for the metal community and specifically for those who enjoyed deathcore. It is one of if not the first complete deathcore band of the recent era. So it was a big deal when it came out. There are many bands that can be recommended if you wanna head down the deathcore rabbit hole, otherwise keep doing what you do man! Stay blessed bro! Glad to have subscribed!
He ain’t master anything, he lost his voice this year and every other tour , he says he’ll feel 100% to start but by the 2nd or third show he’s shot , he lip syncs half the screams, that is sadly the reality you can check the easiest song you can hear is “amen” , each live is the same lip sync opening, the “I need” scream is the obvious notice it is the same fkn audio each show , he was bringing back false cords March-April 2024 but by the end of the month he was shot and hasn’t pulled out the 06-08 highs since , but they’ll be back from time to time n
Yo Reno, It's time you make your top 20 BMTH songs in order of ranking. Post a video about it, would be great content explaining the ranking and listening to the song briefly!
been waiting for this album reaction lmao, this isn't very great deathcore but its one of my favorites still, in terms of metalcore / deathcore there's a lot of other bands that do it "better", but they were my introduction to the genre in middle school and this type of music sounded crazy to me the first time I listened to it as well lmao but it doesn't take long for this to sound normal, going from metalcore like on sempiternal straight to deathcore can be a lot, you should check these incredible albums out man they'll help bridge the gap: - Architects - Lost Forever // Lost Together (2014 album) - ERRA - ERRA (2021 album) - Invent Animate - Heavener (2023 album)
Fucking love this reaction man! You get it, you get it! The instrumentals from this album and the EP before it are the best from BMTH imo, Oli's insane vocals complete the package! 😂 Much love man! 🤘💚 They have an EP with 4 songs before this one recorded when they were just 14-15. It has my favourite song from them called 'Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.' Hopefully you get to check it out!
You should que these up and do them like an album reaction. These are most of the last singles and have some kind of video to go along! Happier Code Mistake Wish I could forget Strangers Bad life Fallout Bad habits (live) Obliterate ft oli skyes Salt ft oli sykes Knife party ft oli sykes Die4u
😂😂 . I've heard pray for plagues and a couple other from this. But not the whole album, so I'm here with you. it's not my thing. Too much for me. Knew your reaction to this is would be everything. 😊 But funny to listen to for a giggle and how insane this is what they used to sound like compared to now. At least they did it gradually though. My god if you heard Lorna shore. Will Ramos voice is REAL nuts. I enjoyed the same bits you did. Cos musically it's pretty cool,in part. And love the cleaner vocals. If you started with this 1st, do you think you'd carry on? There is a 4 track EP they did before this. And that's even more nuts than this.😂😂
bro most of bmth's modern sound is based on linkin park! you gotta check out linkin park, at least their first album Hybrid Theory! it is an inspiration for so many modern artists its hard to even express!
no way bro is gonna like infant annihilator or lorna yet lmao he needs a lot more metalcore, the cleansing is an incredible intro to deathcore tho, in terms of deathcore this album isn't the best but its very classic and has good lyrics with fun breakdowns
After you have time to get to that an albume I was talking about on your other vid. You should check out a evilmane albume. It’s very interesting. Love some bring me also, you pick some good bands to react to man
Its a shame they dropped one of the best death core albums ever with this one and then switched genres. He couldnt sing this way anymore, they should have dropped him and got another singer instead of ruining the band. Theyre not as good as Through The Eyes of The Dead, As Blood Runs Black, All Shall Perish, or Black Dahlia Murder but this album was fantastic.
@@nowthatsasupplydrop751 but they have no identity. What identity is there for each of the songs on Count Your Blessings? EDIT: God, this is such a stupid reply
I enjoy most of the other BMTH albums including Suicide season but this album has never been my cup of tea, I agree that its very generic. Theres plenty of very heavy Metal bands out there like Aborted or Heaven Shall Burn that still have their own unique sound while being heavy as fuck.
This is not metal anymore bro you're in deathcore territory now and it is the same person from happy song doing the deathcore vocals they never changed vocalist its been him from the screaming to the singing
You've still got the 'This is what the edge of your seat was made for' EP to go, it's only 4 songs
And Music to... 😂😂
Top-tier lyrics and breakdowns on this album 😂
they were about 18 years old when they recorded this album. xD
"They dropped this on a Monday!" got me creasing 😂😭

You can listen to their 2004 EP This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made for. You can also search up Chasing Rainbows by BMTH
I’m glad you enjoyed this felt like I was listening to it for the first time through you 🤘🏼
You should start reacting to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and Meteora.
You should 100% start checking of system of a down
and Korn too
I second this notion. Their first three albums are TOP TIER!
Love the other two as well, but the first three are amazing
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAHAKAKSKAJAJA

for a 18 year old album is a hell of a good one

Those bands feel more crafted, this is pure
Next band Gojira please!! From Mars To Sirius is a fantastic album
I problem listen to Plagues 3 time a day :/
Please listen to other songs from this album that's like the worst one
😎😎🫵🫵
Fact is this is BMTH, I swear if Oli could still do this he would, but there is absolutely no way he could recreate the level of insanity
As I'm skipping through this video to hear the different songs, they all sound exactly the same Lol, glad they evolved from this
Ok but fr, wonderful life and mother tongue are the same songs
Thats how albums work they have a unique sound. sempiternal sounds mostly the same but its still their best album
