You gotta take a drink every time Kerry adjusts his sunglasses.
Im gonna do it

@@rodneybeckstedt6032 funny i was gonna go for round 2 with bourbon like later after my headache goes away i had like 12 beers watching this, 6 were just being thirsty
Invented a new drinking game I like to call "Angel of Drunk" that you take a shot every time Kerry King adjusts his sunglasses in an interview.
Take a drink everytime Kerry picks the open E in Angel of death
Why is Tom's laugh bring me so much joy ?
Cuz it's his laugh. No shame in hearing someone's laugh make you happy
Does*
Because it's genuine.
Tom Araya just seems like a genuinely awesome dude
They all seem awesome man
Met him once and he really is. Doesn't even feel like he's a famous rockstar or anything.
I spent time talking to him and his wife backstage in 2001. He is a very friendly and down to earth person. Seems very genuine and didn’t have an ego at all.
He’s a Christian 😐
Had the honor of playing a correctional officer in Repentless. Was fun hanging with the band, and bugging them to sign a bunch of shit lol.
Dude that’s fuckin awesome
Whooooooaaaaaaa 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tom is one of the most honest & candid interviewees you will ever see/ hear. He tells you what and why and does not shy away from any topic.
How do you know?
@@satanamogila9251weird question
Really? I'd always wanted to ask him about his Catholicism....
@@Carnage1138 he said that is what drove him to fronting Slayer and a "darker" instrument like the Bass..... and says it with a chuckle.....

Slayer is the only word that’s in the dictionary twice.
There’s Slayer and then there’s SLAYER
A-HUH!!
F**king Slayer
What about SSSSLLLLAAAAYYYYEEEERRRRR!!!!!?????????
I miss Jeff. So glad I got to see Slayer with him. All respect to Gary and he did fucking great. But Jeff impacted my life.
How was Jeff live ? I never had the chance to see them
@@josemiguelcastiblancogomez7723 fucking great, friend. Fucking great. And I saw them at the Gibson Amphitheater next to Universal Studios in Southern California. The acoustics and sound were perfect. They played with Killswitch Engage (Howard days) and Mastodon. To this day, the best sounding concert I’ve been to. You’ll appreciate this. I saw Yes at the same venue months later and this dude kept yelling, “Roundabout!,” and, “Slayer!” the whole time.
@@josemiguelcastiblancogomez7723 I saw them 3 times, they ruled every single time. One of the best metal bands I have ever seen live, they brought it every show. That was NOT the mosh pit 99/100 guys would want to jump into unless you wanted to get busted up either
Seen em in Hollywood, way back in… fuck, “GodHatesUsAll?”was the newest stuff?
Oh man, though, what a sick. fucking. concert/time in life.
@@Fafafohi i love slayer, my roomate saw slayer back in the 90's-early 2000's, he's been to a few shows, he's had the chance to talk with kerry king and kerry even signed one of his slayer records and it says "FUCK GOD" on it. he said kerry was a bit of an egoprick though. as a youngin myself, (19) i really wish i got to see slayer when jeff was still alive. i've listened to them since i was a kid and metal alike because my dad was a metalhead in the 80's. damn, i even wish i got to see dave & james play on the same stage.
Slayer, Motorhead, and Overkill was my first concert when I was 12, at the McAllen Villarreal Convention center, in TX
Death Angel/Forbidden was mine! I know that's off topic of the band in this video, but it's awesome that we remember so well, our first show. It means alot. I was 13 going on 14. Had been going to some punk/hardcore/metal shows in small venues like firehalls, house shows, vfw halls etc. But that was my first reallll show. And trust me, slayer was played in the car on the ride to the show lol
I saw that tour in Boston, I was 16. The place was full of Hell’s Angel’s bc Motorhead was there.
My first pick was from DD Vernie, bass player for overkill
I saw them on that tour! In Grand Rapids, MI! Late 1988!
Excellent combination 🤟👿🤟
Slayer was my first concert. Literally was a life changing moment for me
Tell us more. Year, place?
@designercaolho was my first concert too 😂. Great experience.
@@mudcast 2019 farewell tour with Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, and Cannibal Corpse in irving texas
@@darth-gerry6659 awesome line up!
@@darth-gerry6659 although i dont doubt it was awesome, you didnt get the true experience without jeff or dave
I was lucky enough to meet Dave and have a lengthy conversation with him once. He's a really nice and down to earth guy. So many people worship him as a drummer including me, but he hasn't let any of that go to his head. Great guy!
Fucking love SLAYER
Always!
Yep , saw em many times including in the pit on the farewell tour. Perfect ending for someone who's been following them from the beginning , I'm 57 and saw them as a teen the first time...
Jeff is so awesome
Oh hell yes, Slayer is badass!
Please stop cursing! I am a Chrischin ! I'm gonna prey for you! My God bless your sole
Rip Jeff Hanneman. Would have loved to hear his take on fact or fiction.
I like hearing stories directly from the source. Thanks for this vid. Love Slayer.
Dave is beyond awesome
Paul fit into the void greatly imfao.
Both are legendary drummers!!
Jon dette great too
Bonham, Moon, Peart, Baker, Lombardo. Top5 drummers ALL TIME!. And not necessarily in that order.
@@shilohpuppy5649 can't forget the Rhythm Devils and even Ringo
I always said that the one who had to finish that Slayer tour was Dave along with them. Paul is an excellent drummer, definitely in his style, but in my personal opinion Dave and the rudiments of him that we know would have been incredible. I hope that one day they will reunite since the bands' retirement has become a modality and in the long run they will return and reunite.
Saw slayer in San Diego 1991. Craziest pit ever!!!
You missed out over all the years. I seen slayer about 10 times during the Repentless run alone.
I would have been 4 years old 😢
@@mikepsly73 1991 was my first experience. Cheers
Saw them in Sacramento that year. The next day at work, my feet felt terrible. I took my shoes off and the soles of my feet were bruised purple. It was from sprinting thru the huge mosh pits on the concrete floors of a big basketball arena😂. Good times.
I actually met Tom Araya behind a venue in Chicago when they were unloading equipment for show later that night... We got there super early and we were just kind of hanging out and I just spotted him standing out back... Super cool, down to earth guy.
"This is Gary Holt from Slayer and Exodus", was intended... Loudwire sheesh...
Gary will always be among the Godfathers of Thrash with Exodus.
No need to say he was a fill in.
Didn't like just the slayer part cause ... you know not really
What?
Wow.
Divine Intervention is one of my top 3 favorite Slayer albums. To think that the production could have been better according to Tom & Kerry is mind-blowing.
Same. I remember people saying it wasn't that great, but for me it is my favorite.
They're my favorite band since '88 and I think Divine is the last great album they made. The last album that wasn't overly derivative of past albums. I fucking love it. And it sounds fine to me, unless you're an armchair audio engineer or an actual engineer I guess.
It's one of my fav records of theirs but i also think the production leaves something to be desired.
@@gentelmanjunkie542diabolus in musica was definitely one of their most unique sounding albums. It gets a lot of hate too but I have always really enjoyed that album
I cannot imagine a world where, in 1988, I had said, "Dude! Wings of Fire's new album "South of Heaven" is FUCKING METAL!!!"
To be honest, I f*cking LOVE the mix on Divine Intervention. Guitars are so loud and raw.
Great interview! I am Slayers age and grew up listening to them back in the 80s as they were braking the sound barrier.
I remember chatting with John Araya on his IG account way back about his early traveling experience, pretty fortunate dude
7:15 I love slayer, period. Dave Lombardo is a kickass drummer, one of the best ever. I’ve only been able to see slayer perform once, but it was the original band and they played Reign in Blood back to back. Magical! That same night I saw Slipknot with all the original members, and Joey Jordison was on fire. While slayer played Joey stood on the side watching his hero Dave play, he was mesmerized just like the rest of us. That night is something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Two of my favorite bands playing the same stage, and the opening act was not disappointing either: Mastodon.
🤘🏻🇸🇪🤘🏻
We needed this
I love the production and rawness of Divine Intervention. Always thought it’s one of their heaviest sounding albums
Yes! And DITTOHEAD is one of their best songs from that album.
"Wings of Fire." Can you even imagine! 😄
Yeah, I think it would've been slightly different...
Fucking Wings of Fire!
The world needs new slayer music now, more than ever.
No. SLAYER will always be who there were even in 200 years.
Tom is retired
Kerry has said his album, due to drop this year, will be 'an extention of Slayer'. I'm looking forward to hearing it!
@@TheStrykerProject yeah thr extention of Kerry King 🤣 It will be mid watch
We are currently living in and experiencing a SLAYER song
Growing up in Oakland/Fremont Slayer was pretty big. All the older kids swore by them. I was proud that Paul Bostaph grew up down the street and went to the same school we did.
Got to see them live twice before Jeff passed away. RIP dude.. such an amazing guitarist. And his love for punk inspired my favorite slayer album, undisputed attitude, so means a lot to me.
Kerry King wrote my favorite song on Seasons in the Abyss. Listen to "Skeltons of Society" whenever you get a chance. Time well spent.
Was honored to see them in El Paso TX for their farewell tour, opening was Amon amarth, cannibal corpse and lamb of god. Beautiful moment fellas, beautiful
I grew up listening to Slayer! Slayer is legendary🤘🏻 rip Jeff you will be missed!😞
Slayer are such cool very well spoken gentlemen. Love them
Let's make more of these wiki fact or fiction episodes guys
RIP Jeff Hanneman, dude's a hell of a player and is still greatly missed 10 years later...
So glad I got to see Slayer with Jeff in 04 on Ozzfest. Saw them again with Gary and it was still top notch. Just so glad I got to see the OG duo together.
Love Slayer, first saw them in 94 and 97,99,00,01 definitely the best shows I've ever seen especially with Pantera and Morbil Angel on that tour. Slayer in 94 came to the Strand with Biohazard and Fudge Factory. Two Ozzfest 99 and 00 and 97 was at Lupo's with Machine Head. Long live the Metal Titans 🤘🏼❤
My first was late 88! With Motorhead and Overkill! Saw em again in 91, Clash of the Titans tour, with Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice in Chains.
SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SLAYER....but who does Corney Tailer think wrote these songs.
Sodom very slayer like
I know Gene, good friend, he will confirm, he took pictures, and help Dave set up his drums, but was never a roadie.
Damn i miss this band
My love for Slayer will never end Tom Araya, Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King, and Dave Lombardo will forever be SLAYERRRRR
Holt knows you keep the blood line going in respects to Jeff's tone
Tom is such a chill old dude 😂
Is this an old interview?
Yeah, it's clips of older interviews. This is a waste of time F Loudwire 😆.
I saw the video for War Ensemble back when i was 11 and that was pretty much it for me. I already had the first four Metallica albums along with Peace Sells and Rust in Peace. Seasons in the Abyss showed me how sinister the genre could get. It's almost tame by today's standards but compared to almost everything else it sounded positively evil. What a lot of people missed was that the songs weren't glorifying all that stuff. They weren't written to say "Hey this is really cool. You should do this." The subtlety was lost to people who said it was actually Satanic or encouraged violence.
Also, Dave's playing on the song Seasons in the Abyss is what got me to start paying attention to what the drummer was doing instead of just the guitars and vocals. He really pushed the envelope. They did him a bit dirty on the business side of things. As far as I'm concerned he was an integral part of what made their ewrly work so iconic.
Yes sir
I drank with Jeff in Hemet about 10 years before he passed. Mexican restaurant. (I know theres a million out there) Signed a cocktail napkin, and scribbled the slayer logo.. i was about a week short of deploying to Iraq for the second time and he was real pro military. Cool dude. Still have the napkin.
After all these years, it seems like Dave had a huge hand in Slayer's development! No wonder he left the band all salty and shit.
13:41 Angel of Death is one of their best songs ever. It is also historically correct. Mengle was a true Angel of Death, he called himself doctor but was not a real doctor. He was a maniac and did the most horrible things. This song will make sure we never forget the atrocities of the Nazis.
What are you like- 12?

Slaayer with Hatebreed opening. Early 200's. You either were there or you wern't.. Nobody left the pit unscathed.
I saw that tour. Was there a band named "Diecast" on that bill, or was that another tour?
Those dudes are my all time favorite metal bands.I will probably never meet them in person but I wish I could.I have been a fan since the 80s.
I can't believe they have such issues with divine I love that album one of my favorites remember getting and opening it everyone is saying I wonder if they sold out like Metallica and first song drums just blew us away nope they never sold out out fucking loved it scavenger closing in covering the truth again fucking awesome
This is so old, they (loud wire) don't have the balls to interview them again before one of them die
I wish I got to see them live, but the next closest thing is Kerry's new project which I hope to get around to seeing
how is the project called ?
@akulas_child3503 apparently its supposed to be blood reign from some digging people did last year but i dont believe its been released yet
The first thing I ever shoplifted was SLAYERs haunting the chapel and it scared me but then I loved it then I stole more and more
So your fav band didn’t make any money off you cause u needed it for free. There a very lib-tard-entitled thing to do. No wonder Metallica is so uptight abt their music being stolen. It’s cause of YOU!
These guys should be still playing 👍 I know Kerry misses it.
I really miss Fact or Fiction 🤘🤘🤘
I missed their final show in my hometown due to not being able to leave my young kids at home. Still rather gutted
I got to see their final show in NYC, but because the babysitter couldn't stay I couldn't meet them. Toms wife, Sandra gave me tickets and backstage passes but I couldn't stick around, too stressed about my kid, so I left after awhile
So pissed off they retired touring. But thank God or Satan I saw them at least once
Divine Intervention nis their best sounding album to me. So cold and clear aand crisp.
Who wrote the intro to Raining blood?
For those who have not met Kerry King he's not the friendliest or nicest guy (putting it mildly). That's what they tell you when you make it as a musician. While you'll never remember speaking with a fan they'll never forget.
There’s an old adage, never meet your heroes you’ll come away disappointed
Saw Slayer 4/5 times great band, you knew what you was going to get and they never failed to disappoint
I laughed out loud when Tom said they used satanic imagery to be DIFFERENT from the hollywood community
Right it seems ironic, maybe back then Hollywood wasn’t big into it back then but nowadays it’s so obvious
It's great to see Santa and Wee Man back together.
Tom is such a cool and chill guy, would be interesting to hang with him for a day
Cool interviews. 🤘🤘
I’m so happy to see them in 2024 still thriving. I miss them, especially Jeff.
Really looking forward to Kerry King's new band! Actually excited!!! 🤘🏻
Funny to see that they are normal dudes. 30 years ago I thought they were evil and hid my tapes from my parents.
Guys I need help! It’s raining blood at my place. What should I do?
Reign in it ;)
I love their rendition of Mary had a little Lamb
I really do like these guys, mostly the DEF AMERICAN/Rick Rubin era, but I’ve seen some stories about Tom getting screwed on the business side which sucks because most of his songs come from his interpretation of non-fiction true crime events, could be wrong….SLAYER!
Wow, big respect for the Skitsystem t-shirt!
I saw slayer during the Oakland fires at the cow palace. Awesome show.
A client and buddy of mine knew them back then, he aslo wrote and performed the song "I hate you" when hhe was the bass playef for the band Verbal Abuse.
Best metal band of all time. SLAYER!!!!!!
F ing Wings of fire. I can’t stop laughing 😂😂😂

Hi I’m Gary Holt from Exodus!
Gary Holt is not “from Slayer”
Is this just uploads or actually new interviews?
Seen Slayer in Germany, Nashville, Louisville and Seattle. With Jeff and Gary. I fucking love these guys. Best show was the final show with Primus and Ministry
this is so cool, thank you guys a lot!

Tom seems like he'd be the coolest dude to hang out with.
Was this an old interview? Or did y’all get them to interview recently?
I was always a Slayer fan. It's nice that they keep Henaman in there through his gear.
Legendary Band!!! Thank you for helping me through my adolescence and beyond 😎🤘
I think the sound and mix on Divine Intervention is way better than God Hates Us All.
Divine intervention is in my top 3 Slayer albums I love the sound.
In my opinion Hell Awaits has the worst mix
