Actually they are the same song. She only changed one part of the song and it's in a different key to match her tone. Other then that it's pretty much the same. Take the final product and replace neon with broken and you have the demo.

They made the right choice changing it to NEON lights. imo. Also, Demi's vocals and harmonies took the song to another level.
