A really fitting end for his character. Although simultaneously being one of the most improbable revenge stories ever. Your own brother kills you, sells his soul for power and causes destruction throughout the world; he haunts your most prized pupils, nearly turning your favorite one down the same path of evil. You barely survive, recover and train yourself back to your peak strength despite your old age. Then you set out to beat some of the strongest fighters in the world while watch over your former students to see if you've succeeded as a teacher. After taking down a genetically engineered super soldier, and an entire terrorist cell in the process, you meditate from the long journey when suddenly - your brother appears from *a fucking bolt of lighting out of the sky*. He's truly become a demon: a soulless shell of violence with no mercy and a hunger for blood. He's become immensely more powerful then when he killed you before (nice, that's fair), shows no sign of aging, or losing his strength or ability EVER.
And you win. GG, easy money. What a badass.

Gonna be honest, gouken’s win quote against oni is actually pretty sad when you think about it. He’s basically coming to terms with the fact that what he beat is no longer his brother.

People say Gouken and Akuma are tied in terms of strength. I actually think Gouken is stronger, but deep down he loves his brother, so he forces himself to hold back just enough to beat him, but not kill him. Gouken even refused to kill Akuma after one of their fights, with Akuma shouting "Kill me, you have to". Gouken definitely holds back. The only time he doesn't is when he fights Oni, where Gouken admits he's petrified of him (the only time Gouken was ever intimidated) and declared his brother dead since Akuma sacrificed all that made him human to become Oni. Gouken truly is a damn beast

Not only Gouken defeated His power corrupted younger Brother Akuma, but He's completely satisfied after watching his pupils Ryu and Ken becoming true Masters themselves and still having the same attitude.

Arguably Gouken is more powerful than Akuma, as almost every time they fight, Gouken is victorious, and the only time Akuma won, he had to resort to using the Shun Goku Satsu to do so.
Yeah but since now that Gouken had perfected the Power of Nothingness granting him immunity against Akuma's Shun Goku Satsu & Akuma perfected the Satsui no Hado, I'll call them a tough tie. :)

Yo I’m not much of a street fighter guy, but damn do I love that character. I’ve always been a fan of those old warrior types in fighting games, and this guy stands at the top of my list.
Then you should check out Wang Jinrei from Tekken and Tung Fu Rue from The King of Fighters and Fatal Fury.

So is oni what happened after Akuma was pushed to his limits with gouken, in a what if scenario after their duel. Oni then claims ryu, releasing his suppressed power with his close up super hadoken, bringing him near death and leaving him the scarred evil ryu.
Oni tells Cody he'd more powerful than him (Oni) if he took the cuffs off. Now think about that.

What I think is hilarious is that Cody is the only street fighter in Street Fighter :P

Got to be honest, I was expecting a Perfect on the first round against Ryu. That would have been awesome, kinda like a "Teacher Student" moment where the teacher beat the shit out of you to teach you a lesson.

Wow amazing. Simplicity at it's best. That what made this gouken character quite hard to master for the average player. The average player mostly choose ryu, ken, evil eyu, akuma and even oni. Respect to those who master the gouken character.

If this is "hardest" mode, it looks so incredibly easy.
That's like pitting someone that's "Hell" tier in Diablo II or III against someone that's in Torment IV or Torment V. :-P

akuma and gouken's relationship is how Ryu and Ken's would've gone if Ryu lost himself to The Satsui no hado and Ken had to be the one to put an end to it

The GOD I generally play with akuma, evil ryu, ken and ryu. Oni sometimes too. but never tried gouken. you inspired me. I will try Gouken tomorrow

he gets hit during focus attacks, so he regains the damage he took because its kinda like red health damage in other fighting games

@@supertrollariobros1261 not really he is actually in a coma for several years, and the near death experience made him even stronger.
Steven Yanis This is old so I'm sure you know by now. But The Raging Demon did not kill Gouken. It just put him in a coma. You have to keep in mind that Gouken has always beaten Akuma while holding back. The only reason Akuma was even able to land the demon is because Gouken was trying to talk some sense into Akuma like he had done before while Akuma was trying to kill him. When he met Akuma again after this. Gouken used The Power of Nothingness and Akuma pretty much knew that if he ever tried to fight him again he'd lose.
They should make the characters talk as anime because that would be fun instead of having to read because it would be cool to see footage like the animated movies.

It's lengthy tbh, I'm usually down with Ryu, Ken, E. Honda, Dudley, Seth, Gouken, Akuma, Dan, Sakura, Oni, Abel, Sagat, Cammy, Cody, Poison, Evil Ryu, Fei Long, T. Hawk, Adon and Hugo. :D

The GOD USF4 arcade is easier than the arcade in ssf4 but this was still a good walkthrough. I personally suck with Gouken but in ssf4 you can't even charge focus attacks or jump in unless it's after a projectile. Plus, the computer is always going to counter your every move with ultra if they have it, so you have to be defensive when it's built up. 3rd, Seth is basically Poongko without the step combos in ssf4. Usf4 is fun but more competitive against real people.
I haven't try SSF4 but I've tried SF4 & USF4. :)
