@SONIC ART The Apollo 11 crew beat you too it. They were busting nuts in space all the way to the moon, on the moon and back. When they opened the capsule after splash down it was a hot sticky mess.
4:54 "Kars never returned to the Earth. He became half-mineral, half-animal and floated forever through space. And though he wished for death, he was unable to die. So eventually, he stopped thinking."
I’ve always thought that future burials will be out in space. Instead of embalming them, you ship them out in space in a rocket, that way space preserves their body. Their can even be cameras on board recording outside so loved ones can see the view of their dead ancestors, and GPS so they know their location. Family could even still view their loved one’s body for millions of years as no decay would happen.
Very interesting that technically speaking you could briefly survive in space, but what if you had say a breathing apparatus like a small air bottle? Just enough to take a breath so you don’t black out?
The best advice I've ever gotten was, if you find yourself floating in space with no suit. Try to make swimming motions and keep pulling towards those points of light.
Water does not behave like that in a vacuum, it does not boil nor turn into a gas. This can be demonstrated with a glass of water in a vacuum chamber, the water will stay in its fluid state, a vacuum has little to no effect on its fluid state.
If alive, I would give a healthy person about 30 seconds. Death would come from normal asphyxiation as the blood runs out of oxygen. It is a myth that your blood would boil. That would only happen if the blood was exposed to space. The body is a pretty good sealed container, as far as blood is concerned. It can either be hot or cold in space. If you are in the vicinity of a sun, the unfiltered ultraviolet light would burn the skin, but you would suffocate before you noticed that. In the dark, it would be extremely cold, but there is no air to convect the heat from your body, so radiation would be the mechanism that cooled you, and that too is slow enough that you would suffocate first. You might not be able to hold your breath very long - the extreme pressure differential will provide an urge to breathe out. If dead, over time the alternating hot and cold would cause severe tissue damage. The ultraviolet light would badly burn the skin. Moisture would crystallize in the cold.
In Dragon Ball Z, Freeza's mutant alien biology is immune to vacuum based damage like vacuum boiling and radiation. Even when his body was ruptured in half and a nearby planet exploded his body still survived to later be repaired with cybernetics. Whatever his body was made of must have been completely alien, like unkown elements or physics defying proteins. His claim that he could breath in space either implied he didn't need anything like oxygen as well.
Star Wars fans shouldn't be angry at Leia surviving the Vaccum of space in The Last Jedi, even if this video was wrong: a) She's force-sensetive, and the force probably strengthens your body in some way b) IT'S FREAKING STAR WARS. Taking such huge leaps in logic is the core design of fantasy!!!!!
The same thing that would happen to any NASA astronaut and/or Russian cosmonaut trying to fly to the moon- you would die, be vaporized...word to the 1960 Space Race (USA vs USSR)
Am I weird for thinking that it would be pretty awesome to take a death row inmate, take him into space, and release him out into it as his way to die? That way we can see what exactly happens to a human body when left unprotected in raw space. I’ve had this idea since I was 6 or 7. I just think it would be an interesting thing to see/research as to how our body would react. Call me sick or messed up if you want but it is what it is. 😂😂😂 Also, can you imagine, after dying, getting your body/coffin released into space? Now that would be a cool way to be “buried” You’d be perfectly preserved for millions of years with your corpse floating through the cosmos to maybe be discovered by Extraterestrials and be studied eons later. Okay. I’ll stop being twisted and demented now. Just some thoughts I had to share to see if anyone is as weird as me 🤣🤣😂
It's concerning that you started to think about how people could be killed when you were 6 years old. You should be watching cartoons or playing with Pokemons or something like that.

Reason: Continuing with the space theme, we have a TPL Kids visitor who wondered: Why can we breathe on earth but not in space?
We're able to breathe on earth because the atmosphere is a mixture of gases, with the thickest gases nearest the earth's surface, giving us the oxygen we need to breathe.
In space, there is very little breathable oxygen. A ground-based experiment by an experimental astrophysicist at Syracuse University found that oxygen atoms cling tightly to stardust. This prevents the oxygen atoms from joining together to form oxygen molecules.
That's why astronauts need to wear a spacesuit when they are outside the spacecraft. Their spacesuits are outfitted with a backpack called the Primary Life Support Subsystem that provides breathable oxygen.

Pretty much 3 seconds
