It's unbelievable that any sane woman would give that POS another chance. He lied to his wife, he lied to his mother, he extorted money from his mother, he's a cheat and worse. It all adds up to a pattern of behaviour that is utterly unforgivable. Only a fool would believe in their empty promises. So yes, this type will cheat again. And again.
In over 50 years of marriage, we have never ONCE not been there for each other. I cannot imagine needing to go to the hospital and my husband telling me to take a taxi because he can't come home from work. I would divorce him if he ever pulled a stunt like that.
When I had an operation , my husband was taking vacation days and came every day to visit me . He also take care of our young daughter , cook,clean and even ironed my nightgown ( it was a nice try 😅) .that’s what love is !!
When my spouse was hospitalized for 2 weeks I stayed 24/7 by their side. It took 6 weeks for them to recover at home and again I stayed by their side 24/7. I used every bit of vacation and personal time to do it with no regrets.
Seriously, I would have divorced him for that alone.
I cannot imagine my husband telling me to take a taxi. In fact, if I suggested it, he would not be okay with it. Had to work. He'd be there at the hospital before work and he would stop there after work and then he would go home and eat and he would probably come back.

Kaiden flew to meet another woman, while she was in hospital, and lied about being super busy at work, too busy to go see his wife in the hospital, that, to me, is just about the definition of an 'unforgivable act/acts'.
I'm glad Kylie and Jenna were able to work together to catch Kaiden out in his many many lies.
Personally, I feel like he just compounded his guilt by a) tricking money out of his mum to meet this other woman, while b) also badmouthing the crap out of his wife!

While listening to the end overview of this situation the op said something that would have been the end of the relationship for me. She said she didn't know if she could trust him again ever, for me that's the end of the relationship. If I can't trust you then there is no need for me to stay with any partner in my opinion.

Just cut ties and divorce because being your spouse's warden isn't anywhere close to being in a loving trusting relationship with someone. The stress and anger that comes with watching an unfaithful partner like a hawk isn't fair to either party involved. Even if you give a second chance to someone the relationship is irrevocably changed, your original relationship died and what you have now is something completely different. No matter how hard you work, how many tears you shed, or how many promises are given and broken you can/will never get back the relationship you had prior to the cheating. What Kaiden did IS cheating even if he didn't consummate it physically he was still having an emotional affair with the full intention to physically cheat. It only takes a moment to lose someone's trust but a lifetime to rebuild it if it's even possible.
I don't know about staying with a guy you can't trust anymore, still it's refreshing to hear one of these stories with no ugly breakup for a change.. xD

OP needs to make Kaiden sign a post-nup to continue their relationship. Right now he has nothing to lose if he screws up again. If he loses the house and his car collection because of a post-nup he will think long and hard about screwing up again.

Uh... no. I would not have even thought about taking him back. If I can't trust my partner, why would I continue to be with him and risk more heartache? If I have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't cheat, he's not worth it. I wouldn't even waste any more time on him since his eyes are already wandering.

When a person says that they can't get home in an emergency because it is complicated, cheating is usually involved.

My first ex-boyfriend lied to me and about me too, said he was forced to, and then had the nerve to ask me to wait for him to come back. Uh, number one, I don't care what anyone says, we are never forced to lie, it is always a matter of choice, and number 2, I will never wait for him. If you have to watch someone that closely after what they've done to you, then don't bother giving them a chance, just move on with your life and find better things.

I don’t get it, some things are not forgivable, the biggest is cheating, especially if that cheating happened while the victim was in the hospital. My first husband was as uncaring as Kaiden, when I was in labor he had the nerve to complain about having to drive me to the hospital. Unfortunately I was in labor for 4 days which involved several trips back & forth to the hospital until my water broke and they decided to keep me. Throughout those trips my Ex was constantly complaining everything from being woken up, to wanting to take my car since he was afraid that my water would break in HIS car thus damaging it. I was so fed up with him by the time I was actively pushing that he said one thing too many that I ended up putting him in the ER with fractured ribs. I really only remember screaming at him to “Shut the Fuck up” and coming up off the bed swinging at him because I was so angry. Apparently I punched him hard enough to crack a rib or two, which is even more hilarious when you realize that he was a 6 foot tall power lifter covered in tattoos and at the time I was a 5 foot 4, 240 pound pregnant woman in active labor. Looking back I think that was the beginning of the end, because we were divorce not even 4 years later due to other issues. My Ex was so bad that even his own mother couldn’t forgive him, she was on my side about making sure he didn’t get custody and limited visitation(which unfortunately or fortunately he didn’t/doesn’t bother to do, stopped visiting our kid 1 year after our divorce)At least my current husband is nothing like him. We’ve been together about 18 years now, just him, my special needs kid(whose 22 years old now) and I. My daughter & I haven’t seen my toxic EX for years now. Couldn’t be happier.

Emotional cheating is still cheating. He's not remorseful. He's caught in his lies. And why fly to Atlanta just to "meet" her. He was sniffing around like a horndog. 2 hours later he would have been all over her.
