    Does anyone have access or information on where to access the texts he is speaking about in this lecture (other than Qur'an, I mean).

      Classic Arabic then and know is the Arabic language used when writing and used orally in official programs or lectures so all arabs understand. It is also the Arabic version of language taught at school. I hope that answers your question.

      only classical Arabic is used in writings and literature till this day though the usage of some words changed a bet. Regional dialects are only used for daily conversations.
