Rantman you're absolutely correct! The film has displayed some historical inaccuracies. During the Vietnam War, every American was conscripted (meaning every American was compulsorily drafted into the military) due to shortage of soldiers and officers. The exceptions to conscription were the ones who were -
1) Men with serious disabilities.
2) University or college students.
3) Men who were openly a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
4) Married men especially those who had children.
However during the Kargil War there was no conscription imposed. And yes the Indian Army won't even take you in if you have a low IQ.
Speaking of inaccuracies, your statement "every American was conscripted" is inaccurate even after those exemptions were taken into account

Forrest Gump is such a gem of a movie that I have watched multiple times and background score makes me emotional till date. Tom Hanks acting was top notch. The movie was a gem that no one could replicate. I expected that Laal Singh Chadda falls short of originality after watching the trailer.
I saw the movie today. It wasn’t bad. Of course not better then the original. Like i mean, the songs fitted the scenes and it wasn’t as bad as people said. Even the locals in my country love the film. So not sure of the hate there tho there is always fighting between religion.

Laal Singh Chadda misses each and every great things, moments, and emotions that Forrest Gump had. Forrest Gump became Forrest Gump because of the raw emotions we got to see from Tom Hanks and other actors. Its not the scenes , its the emotions that made Forrest Gump iconic. If u did not see Forrest Gump then U will enjoy Laal Singh Chadda thoroughly, but if u did watch it then Laal Singh will be felt like nothing but a pathetic poor copy version.
Thats the issue with Indian audience, why to compare with Forrest Gump?

whatever u said about this movie is absolutely true.there is no point in remaking a oscar winning classic movie like forest gump.yesterday also i was seeing forest gump movie instead of this cuz the way tom hanks acted and emotions especially tht climax portions omg,literally superb.u cant make a remake of forest gump bcoz the movie is written in such a way tht it was perfect blend of many famous american historical events.and american history doesnt match with indian history.What they couldve done is to take inspiration from tht film and write the whole plot line differently and according to indian events.
