- Breaking down my take on the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse wave of JLA figures: Aquaman, Batman, Superman and John Stewart(?) to build the Plastic Man figure.
And my thoughts on what the McF line desperately needs most at this point to thrive. - บันเทิง
Batman from the Spawn 2 pack has the pointy cape.
Geesh so there were two already done options he could have used. Man!
that plastic man looks so good, i'm on the edge of my seat for him to reveal the price of each fig

Tell you what, Todd. Give me a $90 store credit for the two John Stewart and two Kyle Rayner figures I already bought, and I’ll pick up your JLA set and your Killowog/Kyle Rayner set. I think that’s a pretty reasonable offer on my part.

Plastic man looks like a great figure. Will be one of the rare dc multiverse that I'll look out for. The joints look like an improvement in their design compated to older figures.

Nice coverage of the JLA toys and related figures that can be adapted for them! I'm going to use the black & gray Knightfall Batman with the JLA figures, as it's a nice looking Batman in much better colors. Would have loved a pointy shouldered cape, but maybe someone will make a wired version? It's possible. Love the John Stewart GL!! That's about perfect in my book--as good as the Hal they're doing from DC Direct! Wish he had a second head with a mask though. I see myself getting a second one just get a second head to paint a mask on! About time we get some decent Green Lanterns! Aquaman's nice too, and that blue lightning Superman does have a great headsculpt! I ordered the Kilowog and Kyle Rayner pack, so I'll have my Kyle too. Plastic Man looks cool too! I agree with you about the KnightFall Batman--it should be the basis of ALL the Batmans going for it, Todd!! Listen to my man, Jeffrey!
If I were the general manager at McFarlane, I would have already released a Huntress 2-pack: The original Selena Kyle Huntress with the big hip boots with the more modern Jim Lee version. I'd have a Mister Miracle & Big Barda 2-pack. A Zatanna with her original fishnets/top hat look, and one with the superhero cape and shell on her head. I would have released the Creeper, the original Shade the Changing Man, and the Demon! I would have Orion deluxe pack with three heads: comes with the helmeted head, but also has the handsome head and the uglier, craggy looking head. I might have even included his cycle with the deluxe pack! I would begin adding in Green Lanterns to the rotation too. Katma Tu, Tomar Re, The Green Man, Guy Gardner, That eyeball tentacled dude, that dude that looks like a one-eyed carrot, that crystal dude, Chip the squirrel dude, etc. lol
Yeah, I'm gonna have to grab this black KF Batman as my JLA version and maybe borrow a cape from another Batman. I wish John had the mask as well!
And I would not be upset if you were the GM over there either!
I don't collect DC at all but LOVE Plastic Man. I refuse to buy four figures I don't want for him, so hopefully he'll get a Deluxe release at some point.
He's been good (or bad depending on your preference) about not putting BAFs back out in a different format so that might be a long wait.

This wave definitely looks good overall. I dig the more classic look of John Stewart. I even dig that Aquaman Design ( I think back to the Justice League Unlimited Cartoon. Now I see where they got the character design from originally). That being said. I may pick up GL, I don't have a John Stewart GL yet. I missed out on some of the earlier offerings and would like a definitive one. That Batman doesn't seem to fit. I haven't even read this comic run, but based on the images you shared, I agree with you, they should have used a different base for him. Sheesh, I didn't realize how tall He actually was. 😯 I still have my 3 Jokers Batman in box because I don't really know If I wanted to display him or the Knightfall Batman as my definitive one. I definitely prefer the overall design of Knightfall. Not too big, and sizes up a bit better it seems with a few other figures. Now I just have to wait to see if I can score the black and grey variant. I missed out on the pre order so i may have to play the "second hand market" game.
The standard Knightfall one wasn't impossible to find in my area and since it's not a chase I think you'll be able to get him without too much stress.

Damn I just got the previous version of John Stewart. Glad I held out and waited for this version of Aquaman definitely picking him up and I will probably most llikely go for Plastic Man.
Did you have to pay over retail for John?
@@LylesFigureFiles I bought mine through Amazon for $25.54 sorry not the latest glow in the dark one but the version where he's holding a gatling gun. Always liked that version better than the swords as I feel its more appropriate to his background as a soldier. This new version I really like the face sculpt and the suit looks more classic. silver age whereas the one i bought has a more modern aesthetic with all the intricate lines and details.

@@LylesFigureFiles i thought it was awesome it became my favourite book. There was nothing like it. Just the end of the world every month. I also thought when the book was up and running the solo titles of its members got better.
Really appreciate your assement of this wave. It's great to listen to unbiased reports on the build of McFarlane figures. I agree that the 3 Jokers batman needs to be retired. It's too big. The knightfall batman would have been the best choice. He could have also just sculpted a new cape with pointy shoulder tips. All in all, excited for Plastic Man. Not excited it has to come through a BAF. I hope it's not a full year baf at Target we have to endure to complete him. Not sure where these will be released.
Thank you. Yeah that weird rollout of BAF waves doesn't make a lot of sense. At least with this one, the figures are mostly desirable enough that collectors would likely by default get them anyway whenever they come out.

Ugh. Geesh I just went over to my figures and yeah that cape would have been perfect for him!
I really would have loved a classic Jon Stewart Green Lantern but this one isn't scaled to my DC Classics. I just can't start a new toy line. Argh!

Some nice looking figs in this wave. I'm coming to the realization that holding out for someone else to do the D.C. license is probably a pipe dream at this point so I may have to get back on board with these 7" Multiverse figures if I want to collect D.C. characters. Just buying from MAFEX will never get me characters like the Anti-Monitor or Plastic Man. ( 😥)
I just opened him. The Anti-Monitor is pretty darned fun!
John Stewart mask off is comic accurate because he didn't wear the mask for very long, being the first Green lantern to go maskless.
They already got the cape for batman on Flashpoint batman and the spawn 2pk but oh well

a doom patrol wave would be nice with Robot man as a build of figure with Mento, Madame Rouge, Negative man or woman and Tempest with Elasti-girl as a meg figure

the problem is even the all black 95 troika batman which this appears to be based on also needs the spawn cape. the one in jla with the dark grey is the 98 no mans land suit

Makes you wonder if it’s more of a board of decision makings steering these processes. And it makes you wonder if they made 10,000,000 too many three jokers Batman’s and they just got a use em whenever possible.

Finally making a Plasticman after all these years. Not going to lie, I dropped $150 for my DCUC Plasticman figure. Had to if I wanted a complete modern Super Powers collection.
I really like that Plastic Man. VERY fun accessories and ways to display him.

I'm excited! I rarely collect whole a whole waveof any line. I'm wany all of em! They all look top tier to me. I am gonna swap that Bat head tho other than that, I want them all.
3 out of 4 for the BAF isn't a bad ratio by any means.
The 7" scale was the deal breaker for me in collecting this line. Todd's reluctance to make figures in the standard 6" scale has cost him my $$ throughout the past 25+ yrs. At least they're not statues like his early Spawn line was.
I also strongly dislike, in fact Hate, the 7" Scale. I have only bought 5 McFarlane Figures since he took over; Devastator, Gorilla Grodd, Lex Luthor in Green Battlesuit, Atom Smasher, and Swamp Thing. All Figures that are supposed to be bigger! I still look for DCUC 6". I just got Vandal Savage and Icicle for my Earth 2 Injustice Society. I AM a DC Collector with 6 different DC Earth's. I might break my dislike for the Plastic Man, since he could also be bigger because of his powers.
They're just some more clearance away from having really great articulation so I definitely appreciate the upgraded articulation scheme.

When you point out the correct suit for JLA Batman, McFarlane could have used the Spawn/Batman figure from that 2 pack and changed out the head and forearm/gauntlets. Boom! There you have a proper JLA Batman
That makes it worse that he had available parts and didn't even need to do any new sculpting for it.
16:07 I hope that arm is flexible, I would deepen it if not, Luffy Gear 5 will have flexible parts in Figuarts and although the price is higher, a villain from Motu Origin also has flexible arms and is not expensive

I hope it's poseable to some degree too! And yes, Amazo would be a great addition to the line as well!
Mr. Lyles is spot on here... these choices are low-key ridiculous. John makes sense with Kiliwog and Kyle would have made sense with a JLA set, instead of a Black cape Knightfall Bats use the body and make a different head and cape. I could see if the unique sculpts were spent on giving us a quality version of Supergirl or any female character for that matter instead of Injustice variants or these Zod figures. I'm not saying don't make those, but that's where you go for reuse.
Yeah, it's like Todd makes some weird choices that don't seem to be spiteful just ill-advised. He would really benefit from an expert to aid him in wave roll-outs.
The best Batman by far is the knightfall one. I’d buy 100 repaints

Well as far as the Batman and having the points couldn't he just use the cape from flashpoint Batman. And I'm not for sure he probably could have used the Batman from the spawn 2 pack for the body

Me personally since black is one of my favorite colors, I like the Batman in the black suit. But that's just my opinion. And I do like that John Stewart. I don't like the fact that the left arm of Plastic Man is not a regular arm like the right one. The other accessories are okay. But just felt like he needs a left regular arm too. I didn't notice that in the video. Again, my opinion. But I do agree with Jeffrey. Because Todd McFarlane really needs to make Big Barda, Mister Miracle, Huntress, but also the Cheetah, make Giganta into a DC MULTIVERSE Mega Fig like 12" tall. Orion and Grayven the sons of Darkseid, can be 9" tall DC MULTIVERSE action figures, But I really need Todd to make Grail the daughter of Darkseid. I've been waiting for her for a long time now. I really have. Yuga Khan the father of Darkseid needs to be made as well, as a 12" or a 15 inch tall DC MULTIVERSE action figure because he's so big and tall and massive. I also would like to see, Soranik Natu the daughter of Sinestro of the Sinestro Corps, and Arkillo. Since we already have Kilowog, finally, now all we need is Arkillo to be just as tall as Kilowog. A nice 2 pack of Arkillo and Scarecrow of the Sinestro Corps. A Superman and Hal Jordan of the Sinestro Corps. I know we have a Parallax Hal Jordan. But he's not in a yellow and black suit. Jessica Cruz in a yellow and black suit. Amon Sur of the Sinestro Corps. He's the son of Abin Sur. And by the way, I'm just wondering, since I seen Jeffrey holding up Anti-Monitor, how many inches tall is he. Just curious. We need Granny Goodness too. I want to see another Captain Cold without his face being fully covered. Same outfit or similar as the one in Page Puncher but him wearing his hoodie and his shades as well as the rest of the outfit. The 1978 version of the Toyman from the Challenge of the Super Friends. Vandal Savage as a DC MULTIVERSE action figure.
The Anti-Monitor is about 9-9" inches.

Yes I love to see more of the Sinestro Corps members too. That'll be really exciting to see them as DC MULTIVERSE action figures. That's for telling me just how many inches Anti-Monitor really is.👍

Yeah but one thing about Todd is he's smart he switches the main player we need in sets too sale extra figures we don't need that's why he makes them two packs and certain baf waves too get a certain figures I really don't like the wave but I'm all in for plastic man so when is the preorder date

Yep, that Batman is a waste!! However, I was about to paint one black myself to have a variant and I guess I'm going to have to go with a different color. Same with the John Stweart a good take on the character but not with this wave. Thanks Lyles..
