HUGE fan of the film and story. Having said that, the interviewer worsened said interview by interrupting and tooting his own horn.

I'm in the UK and this is the first time I've heard of an IMAX edit of Apollo 13. Why wouldn't they want to show this amazing film at every IMAX around the world?

Great film! Moving and dramatic, while retaining its authenticity and fidelity to history. Everyone connected with “Apollo 13” deserves praise. Thank you, Ron Howard!
I met Jim Lovell at a Barnes & Noble book signing. He was polite and gracious. The film was already in preparation, and he was thrilled that Tom Hanks had been selected to play him!

Would I live to see this in Imax; a new bucket list item.

👩🏻‍💻I was 13 years old when Apollo 13 took to flight, and I would grow up to be a classroom teacher. I would show that clip of the launch of Apollo 13th to my 3rd graders. No swearing, which was great! Thanks Ronnie Howard for making that sequence usable for school science examples and lessons. I have even shown the famous chariot race in Ben Hur so kids and see chariots in action. Charelton Heston & Tom Hanks are my favorites hunks. The students were inthralled with the launch sequence. I am of the Gemini & Apollo generation, these kids had never seen a Saturn 5 launch, only shuttles.🙋‍♀️🥰🇺🇲🇬🇧

I will just never understand why they portrayed Swigert to be this incompetent rookie during the film. It's insulting. He wrote the book on emergency procedures post-Apollo 1

Ron Howard -loved your movie on Appolo 13 however, in watching the playbacks of the actual event, I feel that you missed you chance when the shutters were see and they would have a safe landing. You should have included the ministers prayer thanking God for their safe comeback. We were all giving thanks. Should have been in the movie!!!

There’s a shot of the astronauts and Navy crew praying on the deck of the carrier. A director has to pick and choose what to show, and how long the scene should be. The film was coming to an end, and even this brief shot says a lot. A priest sits with the Lovell family, and the audio news clips mention Pope Paul VI asking for people to pray for the astronauts’ safe return.

It's incredible that as of this point in time (May 2023), the movie Apollo 13 is several additional years in the past than the actual event was when the movie was filmed.

Well not quite the movie was 2002 the event happened in 1970 so 32 years before, may 23 is 21 years after the movie in 2002 only 11 years in it

The shot of the wives looking 45+ degrees UP (and crying), during the launch, bothered me: They would have been at least a mile away from the lift-off. And, as much as I LOVE this movie: I wonder whether the ACTUAL John ("Jack") Swigert - were he still alive - would have approved of his (dramatic license) portrayal as an "underconfident rookie". By all accounts, he was the complete Opposite of that, having basically "written the Book" on the Command Module, with Full Confidence from all involved.

It was flight director Glynn Lunney and his crew who were mostly responsible for getting Apollo 13 back. It's a shame they were left out of the movie.

Is your picture and audio out of sync with each other? If so, there are usually adjustments on the DVD or streaming player, and the TV as well.
