There barely is a difference between offense and defense, I honestly think doomfist will be better on defense because he has more control of the battlefield and more opportunities to get a pick while the enemy pushes. That or he'll fit in with the dive meta. The only defense heroes who aren't really viable on attack are bastion and torb, but torb is more of a support. It's probably more healthy for the game if we get another healer as the next hero. As a support main it gets quite stale switching between the 3 current viable healers (zen, lucio, mercy).
He realy doesn't need nerfing. He is EXTREMELY easy to counter. Just keep your distance (76, McCree, Widow, Orisa, ect.) or avoid all his attacks (Tracer, Genji, Sombra) or both with phara or hard counter with the Sombra hack which turns him into a crappier Reaper that can't reload From my experience if anything he needs buffing...

You know if you can play her well enough, Orisa can actually be a pretty good counter to Doomfist. If he charges, she can use fortify. He shoots someone into the air, she can interrupt him with Halt. He shoots his gun? She can shoot up a barrier. And it would make sense that Orisa can counter Doomfist. Efi was there when Doomfist destroyed everything. She saw the things he could do. Which is why she would make Orisa such a way that Doomfist wouldn't be able to destroy her so quickly.
