Some have complained about the change to the visual 9 hole indicator under the names - I like the idea of having a sort of running visual indicator of performance over the last 9 holes. I do agree however that it's a little confusing. I think the main issue is that previously/initially, when the ticker stayed static over each 9-hole stretch, you got an indication of how many holes were left of the current front or back 9, which was a subtle but appreciated benefit. On the other hand, DeLa being 24 holes is the perfect example of why that wouldn't always work. Overall I would probably prefer switching back to the old way where the ticker stayed static. Or maybe add sort of a progress bar that filled up as each hole was completed. Keep up the good work guys, loving it.

I'm so happy this club put conservative and course management at the forefront. I was worried all those years watching tournaments and seeing soil compaction and other signs of an unhealthy forest.
Big Sexy commentary is always funny, but hearing Nate and Jerm talk about Nate's... sort of not great... round had me laughing out loud. Jomez, as always the coverage is impeccable! Keep elevating the game!
Fun watching round 1 with the nice weather. It was Really wet and cold today for round 2. (Such bizarre weather for mid-May in Santa Cruz.) Our favorite players looked drenched and miserable, valiantly trying to keep discs dry. Thanks to Jomez for keeping up the moral this afternoon with their unflinching professionalism.

It's awesome seeing Nate use that red Orc that he has used for a Long time. I had a red 1 also & loved it. Had it for 4 years & my arm decided to throw it waaaay out n2 TN river Haha! On a 250ft water hole-used the orc bc of its skip but ended up throwing it too high & had to say Bye Bye! Haha. Thanks for video & commentary!! Always well done Jomez!

It ain't going to look this way during Round 2. Rain, rain, rain. Possible thunderstorms for the Sunday Final Round on the ball golf course. Santa Cruz gets about one thunderstorm day in a year. What are the chances? This year the layout is kinda weird. There is also more thin grass than normal. It was a wet winter.
Not sure if they are even going to get to play. I'm not too stoked about the course changes. Top of the world has been like it was for decades, why is a "safety" issue now? Also, what's up with changing I5 to par 4, and the basket placement for 6? The basket position was the only thing difficult about the hole.
Hole 13s "High Left" issue... most of my left side chain catches.. 95% of the time. I think it's the way you putt. Because how does a weak side chain catch if it's not the baskets? Guessing the putting style.
I love seeing the differences of form and release between the AM winner and pro players. A keen eye should use it as a learning experience. Thanks Jomez for the great coverage as always!
hey guys just a heads up, I'm going to dela for my first round there ever and I'm pulling the fridge out of the gulley. I hope one day the kids will wonder why they call the hole the fridge and there will be no garbage on courses or plastic in the oceans. wish me luck, love you.
They replaced one of the best finishing holes in disc golf with a shortened hole that basically just a straight up wide open feild shot? I understand why the change was made but at least make 18 something interesting. Its only annoying because this is one of my top 5 favorite courses.
@@bigjermdg, If I am not mistaken, the "octopus trees" were on the hole that Nate had the sidearm throw in for eagle during the skins match. You would think he would want to enshrine this stellar achievement with a correct identification of the trees through which he made that great shot.
I get the argument for safety changes but 23 and 24 have bad flow and aren't signature finishing holes. Would be a lot better with top of the world put back to it's original length and place as the last basket. Maybe the TD could get a off duty cop to cone off some room and direct traffic in the road rather than nerf the signature hole? A fence could help keep people away from the road as well...my 2 cents. Great coverage as always, best in disc golf.
I think this "safety" statement about changing the basket placement is bullshit. Been playing there for about 20 years, and never seemed to be a safety issue before. Also, this isn't going to stop all us hacks from occasionally sending one into the parking lot. Which, to me, seems like the only really danger to anyone.
Im guessing Nate didn't go to his signature tomahawk when he got stuck on those last two holes because it's difficult for him to power down that much after crushin em all day. Lol. Great coverage but the course seems watered down. Not a fan of the changes. Hopefully next year they go back to the long pins. If any spectator is dumb enough to stand in the road and get hit by a car that's their own fault.
Dude its crazy watching on hole 20 them trying to throw 225 feet. They dont even really throw the disc and its sailing past the basket. Im definitely doing something wrong if 225 is just 1.3% effort. 88.789% effort for me. Grip it and rip it as they say.
It's form and timing man. Disc golfers generate raw power the same way as a ball golfer, boxer, baseball hitter, etc.: The hips. Can you throw a disc 300 feet all arm? Maybe, but you absolutely can't throw it 500 feet all arm. There's a Garrett Gurthie tutorial somewhere on TH-cam where his biggest suggestion for gaining distance is to do anything you can to increase the speed of your hips turning. Also, if you watch the pros in slow motion, you'll see that at the point of release they all look like they're in an identical position regardless of a unique run-up. They've mastered the timing of turning their hips. Hope that helps dude. When I had that "eureka" moment about hip torque, I literally went from maxing out around 325' to throwing fairway drivers close to 400' with less effort. Good luck!

Just goes to show that grip is more of a comfort thing but hips is where the power distance is at. I knew a guy who only stacked the index and middle fingers with the ring and pinky curled on the outside, but his form was flawless and he could throw 450' laser beams. Also, for hip torque, flexibility is paramount. Yoga yoga yoga...
Man how dumb is the 2 meter rule on a course that makes you go through trees from the top? May as well just flip a coin and decide who takes a penalty stroke.
