      @jesusoftheapes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lsuhq9051 the idea is a QB with one great season getting a push up scouting boards to only find failure at the next level . Nothing to do with the personal styles each player had just the obvious fact he probably is not going to be the star QB at the next level like Russell was .

    • @lsuhq9051
      @lsuhq9051 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      jesusoftheapes Russel was not really a star QB. He was a bust because he never watched film and didn’t prepare. Burrow watches as much if not more film than the coordinators do. And anybody that knows anything about Quarterbacks will tell you that burrow is one of the most NFL ready QBs to come out of the draft. If he is a bust, it will be because the bengals organization ruins him. The bengals are one of those teams that has the worst ownership in the league and they ruin careers. I think joe burrow has the ability to rise above that because he still hasn’t reached his ceiling after all of this. He still can get better. Joe burrow is not jamarcus Russel. He is the opposite of jamarcus Russel

    These videos need more Austin! I love everything he does with PFF. Very humble dude who really knows his stuff. He and Mike compliment each other well!

    • @rickycouture7224
      @rickycouture7224 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may not always agree with Mike, but I very much respect that he's always willing to present his full opinion, rather than hedge like 99% of the draft analysts out there.
      Also, whether he's in favor of a particular player or not, just having him breakdown their skillset gives me something tangible to watch for when trying to come to my own conclusion.
      Like any entity, PFF has room to grow. Sometimes they do miss the obvious -- like having JJ Arcega-Whitseside and Andy Isabella above Hollywood Brown and Deebo Samuel -- but if you look at the big picture, their final pre-draft rankings are as good (or better) as anybody's. And Mike is a big reason why!

    Seems like every year once the runningbacks have declared for the draft, most of the fans/analysts grade/judge/evaluate rb prospects by eventually focusing mostly on a players speed/athleticism/college stats and overlook how important ball carrier vision/smart decisions being patient reading blocks/quick hitting holes is.

    Look. The qb position has changed in the NFL. If you can't see a qb being competitive with Mahommes, Jackson, Watson, Wilson, and Kyler, don't bother picking them at the #1 position. Pick the best player available and if you must pick a qb pick them later. Is Baker any better than Lamar? Is Darnold any better than Allen? How did Rosen work out? If a qb is not in the same league as those top 5 then just gamble on a lower pick.

    Ok so here’s why you’re wrong about Etienne over Swift Etienne has 70 broken tackles against ACC opponents and Swift has 34 against SEC opponents the defenses they play against are completely different and honestly Clemson in my mind should not even be in the playoff this year. They have not played a ranked opponent yet almost lost to an unranked NC team with a first year head coach (obviously not coach Browns first year coaching but first year at NC) I believe if you put Swift in the ACC he’d have better stats better broken tackles and all around better film. Clemson cheats the system year in and year out and do not get punished for it. There players only play half a season due to them beating unranked opponents by 40 in the first half. Just my opinion though if anyone disagrees I’d love to hear the argument.

    I think the statistics would obviously show that Etienne is a better player than Swift, and one of the reasons for that may be the difference in opponent strength, but I think if you watch the film that it's pretty clear that Swift shows more of the ability that is valuable for NFL backs. Both backs have great vision, but Swift is a far superior receiver, is more effective in being elusive, and finishes runs. You can talk about broken tackles all you want, but watching Etienne, he's not great at making people miss and is often taken down by a single defender. This isn't to say that Etienne isn't a great back, but he's not going to be the special player that Swift will in the NFL

    Burrow verses Chase Young. Both good athletes and 1st rounders. More opportunity to make great plays at the quarterback position, less so at defensive end. This is a no-brainer folks. Burrow is the next generation of Tom Brady, faster, stronger, maybe even more accurate with a brain like a computer that can break things down. He's the best quarterback coming out of college I've ever seen since I've been alive.

  • @dmasler
    @dmasler 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So here’s the thing - Etienne broke way more tackles than Swift yes. Etienne also played in a MUCH softer conference. These pff guys look a bit too much into their own stats and don’t apply enough context with it imo. Swift is far superior to Etienne imo. On film and on the stat sheet with what he provides as a receiver and how much more elusive he is going against SEC defenders. Don’t get confused - It’s Swift as the top dawg at rb and it’s not particularly close. I’d take Taylor and Dobbins over Etienne too.

    Jacob Eason will never be an NFL starter. When the play breaks down, he panics. When this happens, sometimes he throws into double coverage, sometimes he starts running backwards. And it appears that de doesn't process information very quick. He has a live arm, some mobility, can throw guys open, but needs a clean pocket and a run game.

    Miami or Bengals, whoever picks #1 should pick Chase Young. It's not even debatable. Fitzmagic and Dalton are good enough to take you to post season play. Miami has so many picks they can get Young and a top rated qb. Bengals get Young and load up on OL. This draft class of qbs except for Burrows is not that great. Wait for 2021.

Yes some players have all the right measurements and stats, but the amount and lack of talent on their team along with the players on the other side of the field has a tremendous impact too. If you guys don’t do this, then you’re grading and opinions look biased and just down right favoritism. Overall solid stuff.

    • @purpleknight3446
      @purpleknight3446 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      why can't MIA draft a QB and Young? They have 3 first round picks... admittedly I don't think they will be able to get Young, because they are almost certainly beating the Bengals and the Giants/Fins game will be matchup for the next spot, but lets say they end up with #2. I see their Steelers pick (currently #22) moving up a few spots, as I see the Steelers losing at least 3 of their next 5 (at best ending 8-8, but they could falter to a worse record). As for the Texans pick (#25) I also see them losing at least 2 games (10-6, though they could also falter). Which will likely put at least 1 other first round pick in the 8-14 range, and then their final 1st pick goes in the 16-22 range. That's more than enough to grab Young #2 overall, and grab your choice of the next QB's maybe excluding Tua, but maybe not, depending on how teams want to gamble with his injury, and if they need a QB to perform now, vs sitting a year.
      Have your cake and eat it too Miami, that's what you get for going full rebuild mode (PS, a QB won't help your offence all that much with your terrible OL, maybe fix that, and not trade away a franchise tackle, huh?)

      @Kevin R Not with their first of 3 1st round picks. Maybe, doubtful but maybe with Pitt's pick in the mid first round they take Tua if he is there still. Most likely Miami drafts DE/LT with their first pick, RB with their next pick and at the end of the first round either a DE or LT depending on whether they got Chase Young or Andrew Thomas with the top pick.

  • @faveology
    @faveology 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tua and Fromm will be busts. Lawrence should stay another year. Burrow is the most sure pick. Eason should be drafted as a 'future' QB, so maybe a team like the Chargers should pick him. If I am the Dolphins or Redskins(assuming Bengals are first and pick Burrow) I am trading back or taking the 'best available' player, not just the most valuable position. So if I am the Redskins at 2, I am taking Chase Young - same goes if I am the Dolphins at 2. Imo, pick 2 should pick Chase Young if Burrow goes first. Pick 3 should try to trade out of their spot. If it's the Dolphins, I say trade out for more picks.

    D'andre Swift is the hardest worker and most disciplined out of all backs. His father is disciplinarian to the core and has instilled an insane work ethic in D'Andre. Etienne is the fastest hands down, Jonathan Taylor reminds me of a little faster version of Fournette .J.K Dobbins and Cam Akers very similar talent level both have the ability to successfull in the pros. Keyshawn Vaughn is a great dark horse as well.

      Jonathan Taylor is no Fournette. Fournette is very fast especially at 230 lbs. he’s a freak, modern day Herschel Walker(just in a bad situation). I do like Taylor tho. The jaguars offensive line has been a joke since he got there. Dandre Swift and Clyde Edwards-Helaire are the most complete running backs right now by far (Najee Harris is coming along but we’ll see) .. running , pass protection, route running/catching , speed/power combo. Swift isn’t being utilized properly at UGA . He fits more of the LSU type offense. Would love to see him on the Chiefs . Saints are the perfect fit but Kamara is already there so.. the eagles are an interesting fit for Swift but idk if they’ll use him right and Miles Sandes has potential.

      @@JohnnyBravo02 Dolphins may draft swift with the 25th pick...I think quite a few of these backs could be special. Etienne has all the potential in the world but has to learn to use his vision and blockers better. Taylor has too many carries on his body for my liking. Swift is the closest to being worth the 1st round pick. Just has to stay healthy and be used in a heavy passing attack offense. He can be a workhorse. A better version of knowsean moreno.

      Geoff L. I strongly believe that Swift is a Saquon Barkley type talent , just less powerful and more of a finesse runner but still powerful if that makes sense. Lol I actually believe in the dolphins coaching staff and know they will not waste Swift’s career. That staff just needs more talent to work with , which they will next season. I really thought Tua and Swift would’ve been an ELITE backfield but Tuas hip situation makes it a sticky situation. You won’t find many players with Swift’s talent AND work ethic/leadership combo. He’s no where near his ceiling. Most people don’t realize what he’s gonna be at the next level in the right scheme .

      Geoff L. This is by far the deepest draft Iv ever seen at every position. Draft picks are never locks to be hits but this draft is FULL of players that will be success baring injuries and bad coaching. The dolphins would have to be idiots to mess this draft up with all their picks .

      @@JohnnyBravo02 unfortunately with the Dolphins front office, I'm left with a believe it when I see it situation. I would like to have Chase Young to add to that defensive line though. Also grab Tua with the second pick and Swift with that 3rd first round pick. Lineman and corners I the 2nd round. Then next year we can go back to getting more offensive lineman and the team should be in a position for success. We'll have to hit on those 2nd round picks and maybe 1 to 2 of the later picks to really turn this this team around in the next 3 years though. Chase Young is the type of player the phins have been missing since Jason Taylor though, he's a prospect we just can't pass up on. Hope we get the 2nd overall pick bc that's the only way we snag him. His pass rush on the outside with Wilkins and Godchaux in the middle would be a welcome addition and help the 2nd and 3rd levels of the defense.

    The Bengals better take Young. Last year there was an argument to take Bosa over Murray. Murray was a better quarterback than Burrow and Young is better than Bosa. Also, the Bengals will not be much better next year with Burrow or with Young, but the following year you can get Lawrence or Fields. I would much rather have two transformational players, 1 at qb and 1 at DE than a good quarterback and no one next year near as good as Young.
