- Bird Key is at the center of a potentially controversial sale of the private island.
After being listed on the market, it’s starting to generate concern in Miami’s environmental community because of the island’s reputation of being a bird sanctuary.
The 37-and-a-half acre private island has been listed for $31.5 million.

I can't imagine anyone actually paying $31 million for a strip of sand that could be wiped out with one strong hurricane. It's called Bird Island so let the birds have it.

Would've been cooler if he donated it to the conservancy, doesn't seem like it can provide much use other than a pier for small boats to fish from. Would be a good Sanctuary to have and provide eco tourism opportunity. Could be holding bird tours to the island very easily, but oh well its gonna be underwater anyways
